  • Was it pulsing or in continuous i couldn't tell?

  • @SpecializedChild462 It's pulsating, the "off" period is really short.

  • @NLind oh that's why i couldn't tell. must be pretty loud in there.

  • @NLind Those things were SO sensitive. We had one in our house, but in 2000, we got rid of it due to so many nuisance alarms, and replaced it with a newer First Alert smoke alarm. Ours sounded like that stock smoke alarm sound effect you hear all the time in movies and TV (that same 4/6 pulse coding.) The new one sounds like a Wheelock AS without the "screeching" effect.

  • It'd be nice if FA (first alert) could come out with the squealer horn although I think some of the one links do.

  • my great uncle had one of these, but he sold his house :'(

  • my grandpa had that but the alarm was so sensitive he replaced it.

if he would smoke a cigar in the living room it would go off

  • Is this loud mr. nlind

  • That's a very rare smoke alarm!

  • The coding of the alarm seems to be either continuous or 5/6 with a REALLY short delay in between the blasts.

  • thatd be even better today if they put LED's instead of incandesant. itd probably only need one batt. great vid and cool alarm!

  • Well this is from the early '80's

  • which is why i said "today"

  • wow that's pretty bright!

  • That's the whole point. If there's smoke, you'll see the light.

  • Actually, no...

  • just kidding
