@littlejackrussell12 I highly doubt she's TRYING to be like Patsy... She emulates her style, but that's just artistic style. Two musical artists having very similar sounds is a frequent occurrence so again... I seriously doubt she's even trying. And whether or not Patsy is better is completely subjective... Patsy had one style, and she was very good at it. LeAnn is way more diverse and has a much broader range of styles... That she's equally good at.
so have you ever been down under as i would love to go to one of your concerts, plus looks like you have changed though the years so keep up the great work and ill keep listening to your music
LeAnn I;m from Hawaii, but went to Arkansas in 1992 and first heard you there. You are one of a kind, keep making people happy, never listen to detractors, they just envy you so much. God bless. ...rico
LeAnn's cover of this song ranks it in my Top Five of all-time with Patsy Cline's Sweet Dreams and Faded Love and Linda Ronstadt's Long Long Time and Blue Bayou. At age 71, I utilize YouTube to listen to these five songs, and only these five, each and every night. So, from all these decades and from among the numerous singers I've listened to, LeAnn, Patsy, and Linda are the three that still add positive touches to my life.
@bon1042 Actually, Ray Charles was not the original singer of the song. Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline did it long before then. I am not sure who did it first, but I am sure that it was not Ray Charles. Good version, though.
A beautiful version of a beautiful song! I've loved this song since I first heard it--no later than 1964. Ray Charles did a brilliant version of it. But I'd recommend checking out a good version of the original by Ted Daffan (the songwriter).
I think that Ms. Rimes--young though she is--has some notion of loss.
I first found this song by Marty Robbions and nobody elses version came close but now I have this I can't decide who's version I like most. An outstanding mature country blues voice.
This song was written by Ted Daffan and was a hit for him and his band (Ted Daffan and His Texans) back in the 1940s. It has been covered many times, perhaps most notably by Ray Charles, whose version charted pretty strongly in about 1963 (if memory serves me well). Ms. Rimes certainly turns in a great version here--one worthy of this fine old song.
My goodness - what a beautiful job Leann does with this wonderful old soulful classic. Echoes of Patsy Cline can be heard here. Leann has a fantastic voice and she sings all genres of music so well. I am so happy for all of her success as she is truly a super talented gal. The pictures here are really nice of her. Thank you Dutch for posting. - Paula
I like LeAnn music and she is trying so hard for us to fill Patsy's shoes but she is no Patsy. No one will ever be.

You need to read the prophecies of Linda Newkirk at prophecies org
100's of messages about the Antichrist, the Two Witnesses, the Manchild of Rev 12, and the false rapture/alien invasion.
Preachers and televangelists will promote the invasion as the return of Jesus , as wars and chaos break out.
The false prophets in the churches will soon be performing counterfeit miracles, Satan will take over those who go therein!
Jesus is not in the churches, get out of them before it is too late!
