Studio version was ACC's #54 song of '82. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a blessed weekend. I just pray that Emmylou's quit smokin' those deadly Indian bidi cigarettes.
@MrWileyk Sorry missed your first message. Anton is probably keeping up with an outline of the song, probably not a note for note or in this case beat for beat score. He is a world class drummer, playing everything from country, rock,hip-hop, to jazz fusion. Usually they will have a run thru, but if there's not enough time he might listen to a recording. So in my guesstimation, he is reading "something", most likely his own notes on the song, but it could be sheet music with his part.
born to run ,conceived to have fun, hatched in the sun, aint dying young , go ahead an bite your tongue, this party aint quite done, pull my trigger i'm a loaded gun.
I'm confused. If the show was billed as Emmylou Harris and HIlary Clinton does that mean that Hilary is the drummer for this gig? If so she's very good..
Dave doesn't says she's promoting a "new" CD ... just he Spyboy CD. Which, most of the music on her Spyboy tour was older music, just played with a new band and sound.
The most important thing here is, she looks great and sounds great. :)
No, it's not. The release dates of the albums are irrelevant. It's this simple: Born to Run is the song she wanted to play that night. If she had wanted to play Sin City, Dave would have held up a copy of Elite Hotel. Check the Wahoo Gazette on the Late Show website. The facts are there, as posted above.
You must be going insane by now. I believe you. Presenting a five year old album as her newest album is a bit odd, though. Especially since the song in fact had appeared already in the 80's. Anyway, thanks for posting!!!

I can guarantee you that this is 2003...I was in the audience for this show. The other guest that night was Hillary Clinton.

From the Wahoo Gazette:
Monday, June 16, 2003
Show #2000
Senator Hillary Clinton; and Emmylou Harris.
EMMYLOU HARRIS: From her CD, "Spyboy", Emmylou Harris sang "Born To Run."
And that was our show for Monday, June 16, 2003.

Funny, because this album is from 1998...wouldn't she be promoting her 2003 album Stumble Into Grace during that show? 1998 it is...probably...
