I believe in this trade deal. Amare can continue his position and Shaq can be the reason he gets a break and at the same time allowing the Suns to continue playing a great offensive threat. Shaq is a teacher and whatever team he goes to he ends up with a another ring.
i think ur wrong. amare stoudamire is 6ft-10... which is usualy the size of a power foward. Amare isnt as big as most centers and therefor the suns often struggle in post defense. Meaning, Shaq would play center, and Amare would be PF..how did u not realize that?

For those of the people that think this trade was garbage are wrong. First of all before the trade happened the Suns were one the worst rebounding teams in the NBA when Shaq got there the Suns could rebound with the teams like the Spurs with Tim Duncan and Houston with Yao Ming. I would give him time to see whether he's a good fit for this. I think this trade was a good for the Suns. Judge next season to see whether the trade was good or not. He can still dominate Tim Duncan one and one. Go Suns

they fell from 3rd to 6th because its the west. 2 games separate the 1 and 7 seeds. so they lost a few games when shaq first came. they've won like 4 out of 5 and are 5th now. the west is so damn tough you cant blame them falling on shaq. i mean fuck man, the spurs are 6th now.

We'll have to see man, I think he was also brought in to defend players like yao, duncan etc. I wanna see how they do in the playoffs, mainly because shaq is so reliable and he brings a ton of experience. Sure he doesnt get up and down the court like the rest of the suns, but "you don't need 5 players on a fast break." Thats Steve Nash sayin that, and its true. Shaq shouldnt be getting down on fast breaks because he should be the one grabbing the boards and guarding the post.

Shaq is worth 20 mill, for several reasons.
1, it's Shaq, 2, they didn't get him for the
"perimeter", it's for the paint they've been killed in it alwatys 3, the franchise is going to make so much coin off of him.
Also, you have him for another year, then he should retire, Marion would have left anyway.
Plus, nothing like "The Big Cactus".
Suns, 2nd favorite team, but they would not have won it with Marion.

shaq is just to slow to keep up with the fast break suns offense. Bad trade. . . BUT, look at the celtics. They are leading with 3 pretty old guys, paul pierce, ray allen, and kevin garnett (kevin garnett isn't that old, but still). This could go either way. I would still call it a bad trade though. I don't see it working very well.

Do you watch basketball? Do you know how this game works? YOU CANT FAST BREAK EVERY PLAY AND EXPECT TO WIN. You need a player like shaq to hold the ball and run the clock, plus he is pretty much a garunteed 2 points. Shaq was needed, shawn marion wasnt. enough said. Confused? Well lets say suns are up by 10 points with 2 minutes left, you'd probably say they need to run it down and shoot in 7seconds right? Wrong, thats when they need shaq and thats how they will get a ring.

Please he has been consistantly one of the worst freethrow shooters in the league, no doubt. But he makes them when they really count, always has. Hacking shaq never really worked for any team that tried it, half the time he still gets a dunk off and its a three point play.

When Shaq won with the Lakers, he wasn't getting the ball in the 4th quarter, period. The reason was because he was such a liability as a free throw shooter. Instead people like Kobe, Fisher, and Horry made all of the big shots at the end, not Shaq.

I believe in this trade deal. Amare can continue his position and Shaq can be the reason he gets a break and at the same time allowing the Suns to continue playing a great offensive threat. Shaq is a teacher and whatever team he goes to he ends up with a another ring.

i think ur wrong. amare stoudamire is 6ft-10... which is usualy the size of a power foward. Amare isnt as big as most centers and therefor the suns often struggle in post defense. Meaning, Shaq would play center, and Amare would be PF..how did u not realize that?

not a bad trade .. shaq is a big help for suns.. he can guard great player bigman like duncan, howard.. its a BIG help for phoenix defense ... and in the offense its nash, amare, boris, hill, barbosa etc.. and also shaq can help...shaq cannot run fast back and fort.. phoenix is a fast team, maybe they will slow down a little and change or add some plays..it's a good trade.. can't wait to watch phoenix's game with shaq in the line up..

I think your looking at it backwards, Shaq made all of them better. Those guys wouldve never played as well as they did without him, Penny sucked once Shaq left, Kobe never has made it far in the playoffs without him, first year he gets to Miami they win a championship. The O'neal trade will be good for the suns, shaq, Amare, and Shawn, It will be good for the suns because, all they want is 2 good years out of them then after he retires that will open up some cap room for free agents. This would be the worst thing to do if you are Phoenix. The Heat have got to be champing at the bit for this deal to go through. Shaq is not Shaq anymore.
