A anti-lag system retyards the ignition timing, and injects fuel at the same time, to create a lot of heat in the exhaust tract, spooling up the turbos.

mydylan , anti-lag is a system usualy seen in rally racing wat it does is alters the timnig so that it backfires and keeps spooling the turbos while your shifting gears so it dosent slow down = ultimate power

I'm not sure if all anti-lag is the same, but in the Audi Group B cars, they injected raw fuel into the exhaust to keep the turbo spooled under decel.

Well it's it a both, anti-lag usually consist of 2-step (ignition cutout), retarding the timing and adding more fuel, This is used to spool up a turbo.

it retards the timing and dumps a rich mix into the cylinders, the unburned fuel goes out the exhaust and hits the turbo, when it does this it burns and causes the turbo to keep spinning during a shift.

BAd idea though, kills the turbo after a while.

But it makes for quite a show :)

Awsome set up and yes those have absolutely no lag what so ever as long as your car is tuned correctly with the right air fuel mixture and the timing has to be really accurate and consistant. From what it looks like it looks like its running a little rich because of the backfireing.

2 snivesz32: my mate was building a VG30DE TT Silvia S12 for one dude - they aimed for 700 hp and were ordering parts. Finally, the owner called him and said that he had got the turbos. My mate called me and we discussed some stuff, but they I asked:"WHAT did he buy?"

Guess what?) twin GT55s! ahahaha!) I was laughing my ass off! he got them exchanged for GT35s and now the car is built up and runs good. Tho soon they'd start enforcing the body and some other mods to come, but it looks like stock)

haha, that's a good story. I have a spare VG30 in my garage and I doubt it would be able to spool just one GT55 at redline.

Well, some types of GT55s will be okay for 3.0 l engine, but only one, haha. It depends on the gas turbine size - the less the size, the more power will be rotating the compressor turbine. So it can, hehe. To my mind VG30 is a good engine. I didn't expect that it will be so good, but the mate had no big problems with getting 700 hp from it. Runs on HKS F-Con V Pro with Supra Getrag V161 6-speed manual. But I'd rather go for a Vortech supercharger plus a turbo for a good driveable setup! :)
