  • lol i built an ornithopter and it looks exactly like yours but it doesnt fly it just nose dives

and it doesnt even nose dive straight it like flips itself over then nose dives lol

  • what kind of material did u use for the wings? I have no audio atm :(. did u see the tiny dragonfly ornithopter? nice hair btw

  • @idontWanaChannel I used modelairplane tissue ;) It's probably the same stuff you get with the dragonfly fingy.. :p You can probably get it at the hobby store ;) Hahah thanks ^^

  • @Sophianerarie Welcome :) I've never seen one before, does the tissue tear easily? Im assuming is has some cellulose or some bonding agent so its stronger than, lets say, tissue paper, only lighter? Also, I pulled the microcontroller and battery pack from one of those mini rc helicopters, you should try an assembly like that instead of the rubber band. Its very light, it just may work :)

  • @Sophianerarie

I have always wanted to find the time to build one of those "worlds lightest indoor rc planes". The ones that are very light, and very slow, but they use some clear cellulose/saran wrap material for the wings that I cannot find. Saran would be too heavy, but thats what it looks like :(

  • Very cool! thanks for sharing. Wish there were more girls/women interested in such aspects of creativity...same for electric guitar playing...

  • @hallobaaaby Hahah true.. There very few right hahah I should get back to making these again!! Mmm I don't play electric guitar thoug.. Do drums count for you?:p

  • @Sophianerarie Oh i'm happy you answered because i just saw your ukelelle video--wow you can keep nice rhythm to a song! i don't see any difference with this and guitar ( same skill, then you compose whatever you want...). Drums, they really count for me! -i don't have a classical set but have a couple of drums from asian countries and sometimes insert them into layered recordings i like to make...If you like the rainforest you should really check Florinda Donner-Grau's book "Shabono"!!

  • @hallobaaaby Hahaha that's nice!! I love those kind of drums!! Hmmm I'll have a look at that book! I'm always looking for nice books about nature ^^

Hahah noo the only difference in uke an guitar is that uke is fairly easy to play! hahah ^^

  • IM INTERESTED, DO YOU LOVE TO MAKE ORNITHOPTERS? I HAVE HAD A PASSION FOR MAKING ORNITHOPTERS AND AFTER MANY YEARS I HAVE BUILT MY VERY OWN RADIO CONTROLED ORNITHOPTERS, IF YOU LOVE MAKING THESE I COULD HELP YOU MAKE THEM RC :P

  • Cute. Neat little model.

  • Very cool! Thanks for sharing

  • Hi honey, is that a female or male bird? i wanna be that bird

  • nice job

  • very nice! I see this project in me and my son's future. Thanks for sharing!

  • A pretty girl interested in aerodynamics! OMG.. I love you! Dont tell my gf! Seriously though. Nice video, great design, :)

  • I was thinking that the wings don't flop far enough, and then you threw it and it flew so well. Now I'm confused :S

  • 1dudette. I LOVE your hair. and im really into aerodynamics (helis, planes, ornis, etc) and this video just influenced me to spend about $1.75 on an ornithopter on eBay! thanks brah

  • Awesome :)

  • hey sophie...dats is a excellent video... pls send me measurements of the wood ,wire, wing nd crank shaft.. pls.

    at adityasahu.029@gmail.com

  • well it was my lil bro and he told me to come and look at ur ridiculous style and look .just to clarify r u a girl or boy?

  • @haydenloveswow

right ok now you make a little more sense to me.

Well just to clarify i'm a girl. If you saw me foreal... well yeaah ask my bf

  • @haydenloveswow Your a Dickhead.

  • @haydenloveswow wauw your really sad, never knew people could get this low in their live. You know what i'm really wondering, why the hell would you watch a video like this if you think it's crap?? Really intresting...

  • @haydenloveswow you Don't have to be a Dick you can clearly tell she is a she and She seems to have a Life to me you need to get a Life you fucking dumb ass

  • I cant find balsa wood in any stores :( i went to a hobby store and i asked if they had it and he had never even heard of it

  • @forsalololo95 oooh!! I'm sorry for you!! I don't know what else you can use for building!! You need very light material!! That's the only thing I can say! =)

  • That flies really good! i didn't think it would with such a little wing flapping. I need to look up how to make one.

  • she looks beautiful..mhh.... whats balsa?

  • haha... right.. good question!! balsa is really light wood so the thing doesn't get too heavy!

  • Hello Sophie, can you tell me how did you made an ornitopther? step by step, i´m live on Venezuela and i wanna have this airplane ornitopther model... thanks..

  • good hand for model airplanes, you should try some others to show us here, check my YT channel on FF.thxs!

  • thxs! Yeah I like building them.. But for now I don't have time to make one..! Yours look great too btw!!

  • hi, i was wondering if maybe you could show step by step how to make this awesome ornithopter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it looks like the one from make magazine

  • it's almost the one from the make magazine..! it's from the internet though.. form a different website! and I adjusted it a little

  • thank you!! I'm myself really happy with the results, I didnt expect it to fly properly at all but it did =]

    Thanks again!

  • Nice work! It looked like the first one didn't have enough up and down motion in the wings and may not of flown properly but the second one sure as well did!

  • thank you!!! =] I really tried my best to make it good!! and i'm very happy with the result!! but íts broken now because the conecting rod broke during the flight...

I'm gonna fix it though! and i'm going to make another model! the wings of this model will be shaped like the wings of a bird! =]

  • this is wondeful video.

but can you make it without balsa wood.

    thank you for your video

  • Thank you!

I think you can try it but the first reason why I wouldn't do it is because it's harder to cut and the second reason is that it's probably too heavy..

If you really want to try it without balsa wood you can try some other light materials!

good luck!!! tell me if it works!

  • wow, when i read that it flew better than the first model i was sceptical, but DANG thats a great flyer
