  • Eddie Bravo - The Truth About The Rubber Guard on youtube

  • 1:57 BAM Sneak attack motherfucker!

  • Bravo is one of the best teachers and one of the most skilled figters ever.

  • lol bravo 4 ever, LEGEND

  • Perfect music for this.

  • i first saw the twister in MARIO SPERRY VALE TUDO SERIES 1 instructional series back in 1996.

  • The song is good. I guess it fits Eddie Bravo's personality. But if Eddie was more of a thug type, "Got It Twisted" by Mobb Deep would be a good choice.

  • anyone else notice the elbow to the face @ 1:58

  • I wish there was a better twister song. Bravo is the man though

  • someday i will do the twist.

  • hoooo shiiit EDDIE BRAVO issssssssss MARCELO GARCIA!!!!!

  • Royler is the only notable person Bravo has ever beat. The rest are nobodies.

  • Such a fitting song for the master of "The Twist"-er

  • @Sadaparkour

for sure bro! and of course, and even bigger Eddie Bravo fan! long live 10th planet jiu jitsu!

  • Years of jiu jitsu all to finish with a wrestling guillotine.

  • @Antiwhateverur The irony is delicious isn't it?

  • People don't like Bravo because he quit and is saying he won over Royler using 10th Planet system? Get your facts straight. Stop listening to your friends. He beat him with a triangle. We all know that. He knows that. Are you against anyone making money? No where on the walls, ads does it say he beat a Gracie, pay me, sign up. Yes, other people beat Royler, but he was undefeated for three years before Bravo won. Fluke or not, that's a good win. Yes Leo beat him. He says this. You can see this.

  • i used to be a gracie fan... but then i took an arrow to the knee.

  • @scarface7117 Are you a skyrim fan or somethin' like this ?

  • stud

  • ツイスターとか凄すぎ

  • the sneakiest/greatest setup at 1:57! lmao

  • I see a lot of you guys saying that Eddie invented the twister...well your wrong. Go ahead look up wrestling guillotine on youtube. Eddie calls it the Twister, wrestlers call it the guillotine.

  • @Viperguy896 Correct, however to once again push the point, in his books and on the internet he doesn't even take credit for naming it "The Twister" in his books he talks about learning it in highschool wrestling and the machado's naming it 'The Twister'

  • el maestro eddye vrabo

  • It's funny how the best of Eddi Bravo is a 3 minute video.....He's a joke in my mind. I'm only a blue belt, so don't use the "say that to his face" or "can you kick his ass?" approach. He just isn't that great of a fighter. And those submissions in this video were all neck cranks....congratulations....anybody can make someone tap because their face is being crush or their neck is being cranked. Had they been good technical rear naked or mata leao chokes, it would've been more impressive.

  • @ericmhanks That "neck crank" is actually the Twister. Eddie Bravo invented it. Stop being a jackass.

  • @borat5 I like Eddie Bravo and his system but he did not invent the move, he was taught it during his High School wrestling. Called a guillotine in wrestling. Also for the haters Eddie never claimed to invent the move.

  • @a02theman Wow. I apologise immediately. Seriously. I was under the immpression he invented that move! My bad people. Eddie Bravo is still a legend and @ericmhanks can still stop being a jackass.

  • @ericmhanks "anybody can make someone tap because their face is being crush or their neck is being cranked." is like saying anybdy can make someone tap because thier arteries are being cut off", what im trying to say is ur an idiot

  • @ericmhanks u are a complete fucking idiot, that "neck crank" is called the twister, a move eddie invented himself. It is one of the most painful submissions, ur whole body is being twisted. Know what ur talking about before u disrespect one of the greatest jiu-jitsu master. and ur a blue belt, so sad

  • Bravo's first Twister was on Royce Gracie... No joke.

  • bravo, Bravo

  • was he ever a world class champion ?

  • @2submit no. he won the 2003 north american ADCC trails then went on take 5th place at the ADCC event as he had to bow out of the 3rd place match due to injury. He claim to fame is tapping Royler at ADCC 2003

  • @bjjartist what ? thats it ? but other people defeated royler... ?

  • @2submit yes that's it and after that victory he got decimated by Leo Vieira and yes other people have beaten Royler but those are all legit world champs to my knowledge also none of those guys stopped competing immediately after they beat him. That's why people don't like Bravo he basically is using his victory over Royler to make money by saying he beat Royler with new stuff from 10th planet when it's really all classic old school stuff he re-named. However, his Black Belt from JJM is legit.

  • @bjjartist ..ok some rubber guard things work for everyone and some not, it´s not bjj it´s 10-planet style;)..the half guard game is pretty cool.. eddie bravo was not the biggest competitor out there, when he beat royler, he never claimed to be one, that´s what he want to show, that the bjj game is allways evolving and by the way.. royler didn´t want a re-match, he said yes, then no give me mor money..blabla.. eddie want that rematch to proof it wasn´t just a one-hit wonder.

  • @lumpdu not bjj... it's 10th planet style. 10th planet style of what sir? Dude get real rubber guard is nothing more than high guard with one leg which is stupid and reason it gets destroyed by the Tozi/Wilson pass(look it up). Not to mention Eddie doesn't move his hips before he breaks the guy down horrible technique. Even Vinny says move your hips that way the guy isn't directly on top of you and you don't kill your knees. If Eddie wants prove he's real fight one of the top featherweights now.

  • @bjjartist sorry mister, nice lesson.. i´m a poor european, wish i had a real bjj class over here in austria but here they only teach mma 80 kiliometers from my hometown, i try to emprove my groundgame in judo with some bjj moves, i like the submissions!! but i´m not flexible like that and i think some people get hurt more easier then others with kneejoins and stuff, not everybody has that genetic bonos bravo had.. bravo is good but not a fighter i know..hip-movement is the key, right

  • @lumpdu hip movement is key correct. And you are right not everyone is as flexible as bravo that's one of my main problems with his style. And his half-guard game isn't really body-friendly either as you need powerhouse hips to actually preform what he calls "the whip up" since the hips have to complete the lift on their own due to the body positioning, something they are NOT designed to do. Not to mention it locks down your hips not his. A golden rule in BJJ is move yourself not your opponent.

  • @bjjartist ..i use the lockdown sometimes, never used the whip up, but the plan b combo and old school, nothing works all the time.. but which half guard game do think is the best? i really need some good sidecontroll escapes to half guard or guard or butterfly guard, because in judo they have realy good sidemount and i´m a 135 pound guy and not that much of a powerhouse..

  • @lumpdu Which half guard is best really depends solely your body type and which game you like. You have to play around and figure out what works that's what training is for. Side escapes depend on the variation of side mount your opponent is using the guards will come along on their own after you learn to create space. Use your hips and arms TOGETHER when escaping. Most Judo i've met love Kesa. so the basic headlock escape.. Remember when escaping you don't go for position take whats there.

  • @lumpdu ..thankx, i´ve read some escapes from saulos rebeiros book in the morning, creating space is very important, i know.. my submissions, flow is better than of those judo guys.. but when they sidemounted me i rarly can escape, they are so strong at this position, even the girls are strong when they are on top of me.. i´ve got to try and train harder to manage this position!!

  • @bjjartist Horrible technique? So he won world BJJ tourney with horrible technique? So the 4 Gracie fighters he tapped in comp as well as the other 500 submission wins in competition, he did with "horrible technique" ??? Amazing.

  • @MindofaJedi He tapped 1 Gracie, you might be confusing him with Sakuraba?

  • @MindofaJedi name the other gracies he tapped sir, b/c he damn sure got lucky w/ Royler. And yes the way he does rubber guard is bad technique because it kills your knees. Do it for six months and watch what happens to your knees. Not to mention rubber guard is him marketing high guard to Americans who haven't seen it. A bad version of high guard no less. There's a reason everyone else does with two legs, even Vinny goes straight to normal high guard in a fight. It's been around forever bro.

  • @MindofaJedi He has that many wins? 4 Gracies? 500 submissions? I never heard of this. I'm an Eddie fan too.

  • @MindofaJedi Folks at this page generally love Eddie, but let's not go and state horseshit like that (4 Gracies and 500 subs). E.B. doesn't even have a professional MMA Fight Record.

  • @vecuccio because mma is combination fighting, submission wrestling or jj is no hitting different league. What's your statement?

  • @MindofaJedi he hasnt tapped four gracies hes tapped one and gracie trained gfighters

  • @rickyd454 he said gracie "fighters" not gracies

  • @MindofaJedi i believe you're thinking of wallid ismail

  • Fucking amazing.

  • @HardGainersFTW yeah, I was 180, I was sooo outta shape :)

  • @twistereddie Don't blame it on the pizza, don't blame it on the Big Mac, don't blame it on the good times ....blame it on the munchies!

  • Looking like Leozinho.

  • @HardGainersFTW his head has completely changed shape over the past few years, its really weird, i figured he had maybe done some roids

  • @HardGainersFTW At first i thought it was a parody with the guy from jackass who does the thong dancing lol.
