Looks like Tes:4 Oblivion, but with worse graphics (which isn't THAT important), but also online (and I've always wished Morrowind or Oblivion could be online). Might try it out.
The gameplay is amazingly fun if you prefer the challenge. Winning in this game gives you a much better feeling than winning in other games because the emotional range is insane. Problem is most people cant handle the lows.

I am a hardcore FPS gamer and absolutely love MMORPGs but the whole auto attack aspect needs to go.. It has been used and reused over and over again too many times already and has become very blatantly boring.
I think it is time we allowed for a new generation of gameplay to take a stand for a change and Darkfall is a good start if anything for this.

This game look good at all the futures it has, but it's does't mean is going to be 100% great for that. Grafic is just awful, and no safe pvp zone is just crap. I don't play wow atm, but i've played many mmorpgs (+wow). The first thing you should know, is that a game without levels,classes etc cannot be called RPG. stfu now and go play some hack n slash you idiot.
Necrosauron - Wrong. Ultima Online, the first major MMORPG did not have levels or classes. Levels and classes are neither the original skill system in the genre nor an ideal skill system. An open skill pool was the original system. Levels and classes are substituted solely for business reasons, not game play reasons. And WoW is not a real MMORPG.

Darkfall will give you the opportunity to choose your own class without boundaries, because there are no classes, so you can be what you want, you still have a role. You will also have a role in society or your clan, as a crafter or anything else. So Darkfall is EVEN MORE a RPG than other MMORPGs.

The game is set to launch in Europe on January 22nd '09, but will be accessible elsewhere (probably via online store).

It has been under development because they had a company switch something like that, and they moved to Greece and it took awhile to set everything back up, but it says they are supposed to start the beta this year.

Yeah, this game is a pvp dream :D It is gonna be real cool. Thing is that making your own cities, houses, armor, ships is just awesome too. Making an empire will be the biggest challenge out of all the other games. This will be the most hard some out for a while.

I feel MMORPGs are now all like World of Warcraft and Guild Wars and those mainstream games. Darkfall shouldn't have to share the same genre as crap like Age of Conan. Darkfall is it's own genre, and will be followed by many more games like it once people see that we like freedom. Freedom = Happy Players, Happy Players = Profit! Once the big companies see that, we will see a lot more games like this.

That's Darkfall footage, not footage from Oblivion. Darkfall does not come from Oblivion. Darkfall takes it's calling from early Ultima Online, Shadowbane, EVE Online and a few other games. Darkfall's production preceded Oblivion and does not in any way come from the Developers of Oblivion.

I've casually looked at this game for a few years now. What's interesting is I haven't found a MMO that I've truly enjoyed like UO. Sure I've dabbled in EQ, EQII, DAoC, etc...but nothing was quite like early UO.
Darkfall sounds like something I could really invest some time into, if it's ever released. *please*.
Until then, I'll just mess around in WAR.

Necrosauron - Wrong. Ultima Online, the first major MMORPG did not have levels or classes. Levels and classes are neither the original skill system in the genre nor an ideal skill system. An open skill pool was the original system. Levels and classes are substituted solely for business reasons, not game play reasons. And WoW is not a real MMORPG.

Then you might say: Hey but I have fun while playing.
Oh well, can't argue with that, but understand why WE hate it: The world is a theme park, you can't change it, and it is only a big wall of grinding, and few or no skills are involved.

ANyway, I will answer you. I think that no classes = no RPG ? Well basically a "role playing game" means you play a role. Darkfall will give you the opportunity to choose your own class without boundaries, because there are no classes, so you can be what you want, you still have a role. You will also have a role in society or your clan, as a crafter or anything else. So Darkfall is EVEN MORE a RPG than other MMORPGs.
