  • sweet vid telecaster is the only caster tell me how my ass tastes gibson!

  • This video fails because it features James Burton twice as a rhythm player. When I think of the Telecaster he comes to mind as the grand master.

  • Overhyped

  • putting flames on a tele or any guitar for that matter is like smearing shit on the walls of your house

  • Can't help but notice ''stratmasters'' written across the top

  • john 5 solo just sounded shit

  • I just got mine, 60 years aniversary´s edition .... and i fucking love it!!!

  • At first i love the Stratocaster, i love it so much but now i kinda hate it. Now i have a Fender Telecaster with Dimarzio and it is a beast! I love it, but not like the Stratocaster.

  • just recently got my first tele (a lovely squier cv 50's vb).it's fantastic :-)

  • 5:20 creepy bass player

  • They should have showed James Burton playing lead, and GE Smith doing the rhythm.

  • Yep, Ole' Redd, Albert Lee, James Burton, Steve Cropper, Greg Koch, Jerry Donahue, and some other folk.........................., Redd & Burton takes the win on this one!! Cool DVD though, all the same!!

  • Who is at 2:57?

  • @hillbillygenius72 Ritchie Kotzen :)

  • Great video, but much tooooooo short

  • Old Redd, with the magic sausage fingers.

  • I love Teles.

Sadly, I don't own one right now. But one day...

  • where's jim root with his tele?!

  • How Redd Volkaert makes those stubby sausages of his work that Tele magic is beyond me. Jerry Donohue makes those knuckle busting string bends look easy!

  • j'aime bien!

  • With a Telecaster, you really find out if playing guitar is for you and what you´re made of. It´s a "true" guitar. You can´t fake it.

  • 3:15 ABOUT HOW IT SOUNDS ACOUSTICALLY. THE FEEL OF A TELE IS ROCK SOLID IMAGINE A ACOUSTIC LIKE THAT.AND TRY EXPLAINING THAT TO A CLERK WHO WANTS TO SELL YOU A GIBSON OR GRETSCH

  • Girls playing the guitar look like they try too hard.

  • The bassist at 5:07 !!! XD

  • I love the Tele... I love the twang... love the way it looks. Puts a big smile on my face. :)

  • 6-3-4-5-7-8-9! O YEAH!

  • haha the bass player at 5:21 checkin' out G.E.'s playing

  • Can someone teach my how this to play what this guy plays at 1:27

  • ecco quello che fanno tutto il giorno quelli delle fender

  • I play jazz on my Tele alot

  • that shredding sounds fucking horrible

  • @TWTRose couldnt agree more

  • 5:22 black guy in the corner thinkin, "shit, dumb bass, wish I had a telecaster..."

  • не только информацию,но и удовольствие получил от ролика (что со мной бывает редко;)

  • Lol, John 5 is the biggest poser ive ever seen.

  • Haha, look at the bass player at 5:20 ^^

  • 1:10... one of the most beautiful tele's ever and in my opinion, the best player ever. one love keith.

  • 5:21 that guys is like "damn he's good"

  • Danny Gatton, the Telemaster.

  • sue foley really says it best: "you can't fake it on a tele. you can either play or you can't." then backs it up with some smooth ass playing. awesome

  • strats still own teles in every way. only advantage a tele might have is slightly better tuning stability, although getting proper intonation is pathetic. as long as you don't overuse the trem on a strat you won't have a problem there.

  • @LfunkeyA In your opinion... I'm not saying you're wrong of something but if you ask me... I'm in love with tele's tone and everything.... I love both guitars of course i would be dumb if i didn't like them... RHCPeace

  • Esta guitarra, es taaan básica y tan paja, tan simple y capaz de hacer cosas tan profundas, tan sobria y minimalista pero suficiente para desgarrar sonidos del alma.....no necesitas más, es la TELECASTER!

  • chantel mcgregor wasnt even playing a tele there.was a fret king

  • I love my tele. blonde with rosewood neck std, and a black one, custom, like the 73, squier with p90´s. Truly, an amazing guitar. I dont know why fender doesnt do that model with p90´s. It´s mi fav guitar

  • Perfect guitar. Doesn't get much better than the original

  • and where is brad paisley, keith urban, brent mason, vince gill?

  • @flatpikinguitar Playing really bad pop music in their mothers basement.

  • @PBANDSNOW Brad, and keith maby, but Brent and Vince Gill? Sure about that.

  • @flatpikinguitar Oh, sorry, I only saw the first and second name!

  • tele's are great guitars, but their not for everything.

  • I'm going to save up for one in a few years

  • Woman playing guitars?

    Is that possible ?

  • @MrMb666 no need for sexism.

  • @alessonincrime

Im sorry but it doesn't seems real to me.

  • I love telecasters

  • John 5 is an exceptional player, just not in this particular video haha

  • That Tiger Maple fret board at 3:33 is gorgeous!!!!

  • 5:20 black man watching you do your naughty stuff

  • i call my guitar heraldo riverra

  • god I hate John 5

  • @murrayisthebest any idiot that replaces/rapes a tele like that with 2 humbuckers for shredding deserves to be hated.

  • can anneyone tell me wich song G.E. smith plays at 5:08? i love that tune

  • damn it now i want a tele! :(

  • @philipthedude It's worth it.....

  • Where is Arlen Roth? And please anybody take the guitar away from John 5!

  • Please anybodyremove the guitar from John 5!

  • I do not like John 5

  • I really really want on of these guitars..

  • my tele is identycal to the one at 3:47.... and, yes, I love it...

  • John 5 could play circles around all of you. You must be jealous.

  • How could anyone hate a tele!?

  • 3:43 Fat Bastard, is that you?

  • 2:04 epic tele.

  • 6:23 someone wants that tele

  • I Love Wilko & Fuck off John 5

  • @BottomBoosh John 5 is the WORST person to have ever touched a Telecaster...his tele's aren't even telecasters anymore he changes them so much and modifies them so much that it's almost a completely different guitar except the body and head stock... they should have gotten Joe Walsh over him, Joe Walsh is MUCH more influential then John 5 and a much better player as well

  • @sblopez08 They should of got Hugh Cornwell aswell

  • @BottomBoosh yea, definitely agree to that

  • 5:42 : unreal look :D

  • john 5 fuck off

  • I fell in love with the tele since the first time I saw one. It was a pic of kurt cobain playing his daphne blue tele. Then I became obsessed with the jag and the mustang. I have a LP standard and the gold top 56 reissue. I didn´t really like the strat until I played it for the first time. Now it´s my everday guitar. The all mighty strat. I need only one axe more. I´ve never playedone, but it´s the gibson ES-335.

  • I used to hate Teles. I hated the twang and the shape. Then i listened to Ted Greene and fell in love, and travelled 900 miles round trip to buy my first. Its just like they say in the video, so simple, no frills! A plank of wood with 6 wire under tension!

  • Probably the most versatile, yet the simplest guitar on the face of the planet.

  • the two best backing guitars ever jamming!!!

  • reggie hamilton on bass guitar!

  • 3:34 The man has twinkies for fingers for crying out loud!!! how can he even play on that guitar!!!!

  • someone shoot the shredder, makes me want to puke.

  • I too, always hated the Telecaster, mainly because of the shape. My heroes were Ronson, Frehley, Page, Perry, etc., so I was supposed to hate the Telecaster. Then I fell hard for Richards, and it all changed. I still have my Gibsons, but I have several Teles as well, not all Fenders, but the Telecaster and its shape shaped my new views.

  • @nativesspoken

Ronson ended up playing a Tele almost exclusively. Eventually most all the greats end up with a Fender. Clapton and Beck have their Strats.

  • Great, but: Where's legendary Motown/Hitsville Telecaster guitarist Joe Messina????

  • god damn this country blues rock preconception telecasters have been lumped with

  • @kungfuasgaeilge i kinda like that simply because it makes you more unique when you use it for heavy stuff.

  • @dharmapunkchick true, though it's biased all reviews and test plays on youtube and elsewhere. When researching the one I eventually bought (2008 issue deluxe blackout(it's like a nashville, but it looks sexier)), everyone that played it was just fiddling around doing big improv blues solos, technically accomplished but completely devoid of musicality. Yeah, you can move around scales with fast fingers. Big whoop.

  • I love Telecaster telecaster is my life

    Telecaster forever

  • Girl at 4:18 onward is awesome "an at end at'day it sounds brilliant" LOL.

Definitely a Yorkshire girl, I'm right next-door in Lancashire so I know these things ;)

  • Awesome documentary, but its kind of short

  • last night i got to the hotel. the first thing i did was taking out of the case and lean it up against the chair so when i was in bed i could see it

  • after around 5:00 that black dude is watching mean olol

  • ...and to think Leo considers his G&L Asats even better than his Fender Telecasters.

  • If the telecaster was never invented I would spend my days inventing one so It could just be lived with and enjoyed....

  • This video makes me proud of my Telecaster!

  • I disagree with that Wilko guy, the Les Paul Junior is even more bare and simplistic.

  • I'm a Redd man, myself.

  • I used to hate tele's, but thanks to Richie Kotzen I can't live without a tele anymore.

  • @88Divine same for me, but for me it was Joe Walsh that got me to actually give a Tele a try, now it's my favorite guitar of all time :)

  • @88Divine you took this comment out of my head hehehe

  • The Richie Kotzen signature Teles (and strats) are amazing pieces of work. Best feeling, incredible sounding, and strikingly beautuful guitars !!

  • John 5 is a better guitarist than he get credit for. One of the best EVER.

  • Great video, thanks for posting it. Telecaster's rule :-)

  • I have tremendous RESPECT for John 5 and I'm older than The Mountain I live on.

John 5 to me is THE TIP OF THE SWORD BABY!!!!

And - I'm a roots player who LOVES Soul Music.

There's a place at My Table for John 5 and we got lotsa food!!!

    -stan

  • cool vid thx
