  • Beautifully done. Interestingly, she doesn't take the high D flat, but sings a lower alternative (which actually helps keep the dreamy quality of sleepwalking better than the higher original). She sings not F Aflat Dflat and drop down an octave to Dflat, but Dflat, F, Aflat, drop to Dflat. I have heard this sung often in Europe (not in North America where the High Dflat is obligatory). I have often wondered if Verdi ever wrote that alternative. It is never given in any of the scores.
