  • I wonder how many times Macbeth has stabbed himeself in the foot or something jsut to piss off Demona. I also wonder how many times he has gone to a play just to see the reaction of the cast. "What's your name?" "Machbeth." "NO! HOW DARE YOU?" "No, it's my name!"

  • omfg god if this show wasnt so good i would have stopped watching for how fuck-ups they had in the art

  • soooo... who left the drawbridge down?

  • Bring out your dead...

    I'm not dead!!

  • seems as though demona makes a looooooot of hasty assumptions before she gets the facts.

  • At around 2:00

Amazing how a tree that thick can be so easily lifted and used like a battering ram.

  • 3:30 Macbeth's sword goes behind the moon ^_^

  • It would be funny if, in addition to the little announcement showing the year and location of the scene, it would flash back to Goliath and the others. MEANWHILE *shows them in stone, doing nothing*

  • Macbeth: "I will always love you"

    Aww that hurt my heart

  • It's a shame they don't make cartoons like this anymore.

  • You know, the whole "Only Demona can kill MacBeth" thing also works as a reference to the Shakespeare play. Didn't the witches say that MacBeth couldn't be killed by a man of woman born?

  • Man, it's on now. It is on like Donkey Kong.

  • im finding that im enjoying this show more now as an adult then i did when i was a kid. i guess im just a big kid.

  • This show is defenitly going on my list over things I'll allow my future children (if I have any) to watch. Shows in the likes of Hanna Montana, Jonas Brothers, (come to think of it every show for kids for the past 5 years that has not been animated) and bloody damn Phineas and Pherb is banned for ever and shall never be shown in my home!!! NEVER!!!

  • This show is so epic for a kids show.

  • @JadedJassy21 That is because it was never a kid's show in the first place.

  • Shakespeare's stories needed Gargoyles.

  • @MrRiseAboveitall

Yes, yes they did. Then perhaps it would have been more interesting.

  • the tragedy of macbeth lol goodjob disney.

  • Poor Macbeth...To never be with the one you love, and to live an immortal life for an eternity until one vanquishes the other. I really liked his story arch with Gruoch (sp?), and now he's one of my favorite villains on Gargoyles. Although it's kinda hard to call him that now knowing his backstory, so maybe tragic anti-hero would be better...

  • poor Macbeth, Demona is a bitch! she deserves everyones hatred for what she did.

  • @neonrave210 That's how I felt at first but seeing all the betrayal and hatred she's had to put up with for 1000 years I've come to see her as somewhat of a frightened child. She's all alone knowing what happened to her Clan was her fault and tries to justify it in her head so she can believe it and not feel so guilty. OK she's made terrible choices in the past, but try to understand where she comes from. Her whole life people betray and are terrified of her kind no matter how helpful they are.

  • I feel bad for Macbeth..

  • Could have just said he was unconscious o_o

  • throw stones into the moat, that will teach them!

  • OMG STORYLINE SPOILER.... I THINK I KNOW WHO THE PRESENT DAY MACBETH IS! SHYT THIS IS A GOOD PLOT.

  • Not one of those thrown rocks hit the freaking drawbridge. They suck.

  • Man, script-writers need to take a page from this series. (except in Japan. those guys have it down! XD)

  • 1:48 These uys have worse aim than the storm troopers.

  • This story arc is great. To be honest, I preferred seeing the Gargoyles in the past instead of present Manhattan.

  • Macbeth's crown reminds me of the paper crowns at burger king

  • @jackdavenportsbaby11 least he doesn't have that creepy smile deviod of emotions.

  • Boy, macbeth really did get the shaft.

  • damn this cartoon is deep =s

  • So does Demona miss the part where it's learned that she and MacBeth can only die by each other's hand? If so, when does she learn or figure it out?

  • I dont understand why they would have that private discussion Demona couldnt hear during night time :S

  • @madmax3789 You mean during the day, right? When she turns to stone?

  • @TraustiGeir Yeah, they had that discussion she overheard that they were trying to be hush hush about and it ruined everything. If they made it castle policy to discuss delicate issues about gargoyles during the day, everything would still be going smoothly.

  • @madmax3789 I guess to make mistakes is to be human... Even if those mistakes deserve the Facepalm Award.

  • 7:44 such a sad scene. But Beautiful as well with the sun coming up. I felt bad for Macbeth.

  • wow how did all those stones that were droped all missed. lol bad aim i say.

  • Disney just yielded to 'public' opinion, they had/have to consider the fate of their enterprise as well as their artistic desires. I don't blame them for selling out and letting shows like this gather dust in a warehouse, I blame the majority of contemporary society for becoming so *insert bad enough adjective here*.

  • wow demona, how retarded can you be? i mean she really jumps to conclusions and sides with the wrong humans, and this is the second time she's responsible for killing almost all of her kind.

  • Macbeth is made of Awesome

  • Face it guys.... Disney is selling out. Jumping the shark. Losing sight. Screwing up. Disney no longer wants to put forth the effort to hire any good writers or writers with any talent in that matter. They've totally reverted back to their earlier formula: not actually taking their audience seriously and throwing an endless barrage of "wacky teen" sitcoms and crap in a hat animation. Disney should collect that money they're throwing away and put it to proper use, like this show once did.

  • @Big12189 Wow, that is so TRUE!

  • Macbeth was always one of my favorite characters in Gargoyles and the past three episodes have made me love him even more

  • Ahhh...Macbeth's past was tragic.

  • this whole scene echoes helms deep in the lord of the rings the two towers. if you watch it you will easily see it

  • Absolutely love the creepy music playing in the background while justice burns.

  • 1:47- How in the hell did the people who were throwing the stones miss the people below, who were holding a FREAKING LOG!!!! A huge one at that.

  • Damn.

Every single character in this show that could be classed as a villain is so layered. The only one-dimensional bad guys truly are throwaways, like the rest of the Pack or Dracon. How many programs, animated or not, can brag about such development?

  • @LaithianShadowfire I wouldn't exactly call Dracon a "throwaway" but your point is still valid.

  • the hunter voice never changes...

  • Demona was right to leave. She was going to be set up for another betrayal

  • 1:47 how did they all miss with those big ass boulders, lol

  • @madhash83 Yeah i saw that and was like, EPIC MISS!! lol

  • @Chris09hamann10 One hell of a story though!

  • They need to go back to this type of cartoons. I'm in highschool and I'm still obsessed with this show. They need to stop the crap that comes on now and replace i twith this. To hell with Hannah Montana and Suite Life

  • I don't know if disney will ever regain making good cartoons, its all real life teenie shows on the schedule.

If your looking for good animation, go to anime their are some very good shows.

  • macbeth has a thing for stones that burn. and his soldiers seem rather incompatent

  • If only Mel Gibson was there to help out Macbeth.

  • @MajBlood That and Connor MacLeod!

  • I wish this kind if imagination and originality were used in today's books and movies!

  • "I mean to buy it back...with your blood," WOW. Stabbing characters through the heart onscreen. Oh yeah. This show is unapologetic and awesome for it.

  • Is it just me,

or did the speech at 6:25 the Weird Sisters recited

sound like the Prophecy for Lord Voldemort and Harry Potter?

  • @leneyboo

Because it's a pretty old prophecy/curse, and it inspired many authors.

  • @leneyboo lol thats where hairy potter got it from was the gargoyles! ;)

  • @leneyboo Seems like the spell of Dragonheart to me. v.v

  • 3:28 mcbeth kills the moon !

  • There are no chicks on this show who can do a decent Scottish accent. It literally hurts my heart to listen to them try.

  • @SuzieCuzie22 The thing is, I think it's the same woman that does the voices for most of the Scottish women on Gargoyles: Kath Soucie. Maybe it's just her that sucks with Scottish accents.

  • I disagre with the people

who say all shows of today suck

there are plenty of good show's today

  • @MrAmonkey7

Like what? I'm not trying to be ignorant here, I truly want to know, because I agree with them for the most part. There are not a lot of cartoon shows anymore that actually have story plots, complex characters, and a central theme or message. Not a lot that I see, anyway.

I don't own satellite or cable television myself, but it seems to me that whenever I do have the opportunity to flip through the cartoon channels like Disney, Nick, or Cartoon Network, there aren't all that many.

  • @OhMightyWeirdOne

Boston Legal was pretty good when it was on. But it got canceled a few years ago after only 5 seasons which is a shame since it's one of the best shows I've seen since NYPD and Law & Order.

  • @MrAmonkey7 I mean, yea, sure, there are a few, but I'm not sure I would go so far as to say PLENTY.

  • @MrAmonkey7 Some but as far as cartoons go not many can compare to this

  • @Mouseshadow15 really the only one i see is Batman the animated series

  • Normally back stories are so boring... but these are really interesting ;)

  • O.o demona got stabbed in the boob.

  • @MisterYiff

No, she didn't get stabbed. Only Macbeth got stabbed and as they stated, they were linked so in turn she felt his pain. Thus she reached for her chest as anyone would when feeling pain in that area.

  • Macbeth is pretty cool...

  • Demona had always been my favorite character. Her story was so tragic, yet she couldn't escape the irony of it all. All she ever wanted was for her kind to be safe from the prejudice of humans, yet it was always because of her trying to do the right thing that they perished.

  • @BattleshipAgincourt But she wasn't doing the right thing. The prejudice coming from her was just as bad as the prejudice coming from the humans.

  • they dont make shows like this anymore. everything is an acid trip these days no wonder kids have add.

  • I have a tendency to hold grudges too, but DAMN, Demona is a mess! I still feel sorry for her. Forgiving others or even yourself is hard to do, at least I think so.

  • @phoenixheffa Lol imagine yourself holding the same grudge for over 1,000 years. Lol yeah, you'd be a mess too!

  • @DobermanGinGin LOL! I'm a mess now, what are you talking about?! ;)

  • Demona & MacBeth

    vs.

    Harry Potter & Voldemort?

    I think so ... LOL

  • 3:17 MacBeth has brass balls for not shitting his pants then. Demona looks quite frightening there. Haha.

  • @JPadraig516

lol well yea, im sure he's gotten used to it considering him and Demona have been allies for decades :-P

  • fail at 1:47 lol

  • theres a loooooot of sorcery in this cartoon. its always right at hand. too bad real life isnt like tht sumtimes....

  • LOL demona f*cked things up by herself and she gets angry at other ppl over it XD what a retard

  • So Demona f*cked over her own kind twice, what and idiot!!! She had a great ally in Macbeth but she just can't let go of her distrust, so sad.

  • Demona got stabbed in the boooooob.

    *mature*

  • Demona didn't get stabbed, just felt macbeth's pain

  • Wow so good. You don't find cartoons like this anymore. Tragic really

  • Dude, the Queen of Scotland is a total GMILF! XD

  • ... Macbeth has magic eyebrows xD Not too noticeable, but they turned black near the end when they were gray just a few seconds back.

  • I feel sorry for Macbeth now.

  • Totally! Demona messed up their relationship and now he cant even live with his family. So sad indeed

  • and know we know the whole backstory.

  • Them english have the determination and wit of orcs!

  • and the same script and props.

  • Incredibly sad. One will die and the other lives forever knowing he cannot be with her. Soon everyone he knows will die :(

  • Does 4:43 look familiar to anybody???

    ;) COUGHsleepingbeautyCOUGH

  • Disney always reuses scenes and stuff in their cartoons and movies. It's not surprising.

  • It's a shame we don't get to see Gruoch's father murdered like the little dips*** he is. His consistently cowardly and retarded advice is just as much to blame for things getting screwed up for Macbeth than Demona's being a b****, if not moreso.

  • Why wasn't he accused of sorcery the moment he came back from his horseride with a gargoyle and appeared 30 years older?

  • Damn after all these adventures that must be one smelly mask

  • yes because they never washed clothes..lol :-P

  • LOL good one

  • Man, it really sucks to be Macbeth.

By the way, John Rhys-Davies voice is so cool.

  • Neither can live while the other survives... Macbeth and Demona are sort of like HP and Voldie...

  • Except for the fact that if one dies, the other lives.

With Macbeth and Demona, it was more like neither one can live while the other perishes.

Neither can live while the other survives means that one must die or none will live.

  • it's so sad that he had to leave his wife behind.

  • she was a fool y would she betray her ally of almost 40 yrs to ally with the same man whose family had been hunting her and her kind for almost half a century she should have just hidden from eveyone if she was gonna betry macbeth

  • Because she is spiteful; i think this show captures brilliantly the drama of the medieval period.

  • first his eyebrows were grey now theyre black then grey again xD

  • 5:46 demona's ass crack

  • ok... so he can run through fire, but she can't? typically "guys are stronger than girls"-issue =/

  • She could have been suffering from the smoke. She's just an old lady as we all can recall while he still has his youthful strength. Though yeah I would have to agree with the whole "guys are stronger than girls" issue disney has often...

  • What, no 'Birnam wood, seen'.

  • "Leave Scotland... and me."

Why you!? Go with him you crazy lady!

  • haloCE6,

Good God man! Your comments just get more obscene with each passing video. You're not just a child, you're hopeless.

  • lol thank you my good sir ^_^

  • I don't consider haloCE6's comments to be particularly obscene, I've seen a lot worse on vids of cartoons aimed at a younger audience.

There was a scene in an episode of Storm Hawks where one of the lizard characters, Repton, stuck his tongue out and licked some frozen yoghurt (scene was suggestive to those of us with a dirty mind) and someone left a really off-colour comment about it.

  • This series has such wonderfully plotted out storylines and excellent charaterization. It's a shame kids these days just watch shitty anime and shitty cartoons. Hell, I don't even dislike anime, just the crap they show in TV: it's all desgined to sell toys. The 4Kids director even admitted it.

  • Totally with you. Actual anime - with a plot and something real behind - it is fine, but most of the stuff they show now is just plain rubbish. There's nothing like Gargoyles around anymore, and it's such a shame.

Good job we've got the DVDs and comics. We can keep on spreading the word.

  • aazh,

Aye. It's a sad truth you speak. Thank goodness for users like nayrusavatar who posted this whole series. Hopefully, the younger generation will happen to run across it on here one day. Maybe then, there will be hope for them.

  • I agree with you to an extent, but I think the English dubb of DragonBall is much better than the japanese. I pretty much prefer everything else in Japanese though

  • Hey, anchanta ...you realize that this is an American show, right? And since you like anime so much, be on the lookout for Brooklyn and Broadway the next time you watch "The Big O".

  • I know Gargoyles is an American show.

It's one of few good cartoons!

    (^_^)

  • this is a disney show and disney is an american company

  • I know...

I wrote that in response to a comment someone made about todays shows being no more than shitty cartoons and anime....

Gargoyles should be shown earlier... It's an awesome show with some structure...

Disney has it on at 4am.... That's just wrong!

  • yeah. todays cartoons sucks ass, especially those anime series. Shows like Gargoyles, Batman, Transformes were good shows. I miss these.

  • OMG!

I love you ( Not really, but you know what I mean)

I forgot all about Transformers Armada, Energon, and Cybertron...

    They were leet!

Man... I miss Old Cartoon Network...

Yu Yu Hakushow, Rorouni Kenshin, Outlaw Star, G Gundam...

And other shows... Batman-TAS, Superman-TAS... Can't forget X-men, The old Spider Man...

Memories of when shows were good...

  • @anchanta they changed it to 3:30 Am....

  • has anyone seen dragon heart??? if not, then this question means nothing....

  • Yeah, I get the Dragonheart reference. I don't think either Gargoyles or Dragonheart would have copied from each other though, whilst City of Stone broadcast a year before Dragonheart was released, Dragonheart would have been in production before CoS aired.

  • MacBeth eyebrow color change 7:34

  • There are no shows for children this good nowadays... where has all our imagination gone.

  • Down the fucken drain im afraid, I loved watching gargoyles saturday morning ,I got to say gargoyles is probably the best thing to come out of disney ... now what do the kids have, suite life ? hannah montana?

Im glad i grew up with awsome shows with good animation, plots and music(Batman TAS,x-men Animated series)

  • xXIronbitXx,

I hear that! Ah the good ol' days...Batman, Superman, X-men, Beast Wars (for me at least, lol), Gargoyles (duh), even reruns of the old loony toons...the 90's were good to us.

The 2000's bitch slapped an entire generation out of any quality entertainment. That's for damn sure!

  • No one seems to take Cartoons seriously anymore. Its a pity, the comic book is back in force, however.

  • Good thing too. I've heard that there's a Gargoyles comic by the original creator of the series. It's supposed to continue from where season 2 left off...not that shit season 3 gave us.

I officially label season three of Gargoyles as the beginning of the Pussification of Disney.

  • i agree. since this story arc, nothin produced by Disney has come up to tis stnadards both in drama and storytelling

  • and very little else where.

Bruce Tim is the only person who could keep Badass cartoons alive and even he had to give up after JLU. Its actually kind of funny, this show had the potential to make Disney a major competitor in the action cartoon arena, but they were so confused by it that they didn't know what to do. Instead, they went with 'Kim Possible' and kiddy live action and stupid cartoons. and then the stupid spread.

It seems only nickalodean takes cartoons seriously, anymore.

  • @vp21ct True

  • Uh, what about W.I.T.C.H., season two in particular? That at least came close.

  • maybe.. but it was too girly and fluffy to come up to this standard

  • xXIronbitXx,

Sadly the good shows are fading and near dust in the history of animation. Though once in a while good shows like this or near this, pop up but not much of them come from america anymore thanks to all the people saying it's hurting their child's fragile minds or due to the interest levels in one area the other areas grow smaller and become "extinct" more or less. Though you could show your future children or nieces/ nephews this stuff instead of the present day shit...

  • @jocstarbunny

This is very true; its harder nowadays to make shows like this with out the censors and parents having a hissy fit over whats on television blaming the makers when they, the parents, should be more responsable teaching their kids fantasy from reality, even with all the ratings they put on tv and movies ironically.

  • @jocstarbunny You are right but it is also wrong to try and keep a child so...naive. Cartoons like these and the X-Men and Batman the animated series were good cartoons that taught us about morals, even the adults enjoyed them.

  • @jocstarbunny i have to agree. thats why im going to be a cartoonist and re-defy the tv universe in introducing REAL anime/cartoon series thats deep and alot of genres/sectors. if wussy parents dont like it then they can suck it because tv is meant to reveal art and meaningful. i'll be big and maybe i'll be known throughout this world. i love these cartoons and theyll forever live on as classics. instead of showing my kids johnny test i'll make them watch DVDs of x-men evolution and so much more

  • @jocstarbunny I'm all of 15, and I have to say, these are the good ones. I can't stand anything of the new ones, with the exception of a few of DC's... I miss when Disney was like this...

  • @jocstarbunny

What those who compain how the old series harm their children's minds don realise is that with their over-sanitised 'clean' series, they cause even more harm to their children, isolating them from the reality of the world instead of preapring them for it.

  • @StarlasAiko *Stands up and claps*

  • OhHenryDude,

There are good shows like this nowadays, though they are very Very VERY hard to find or soccermoms or whatever gets rid of them saying they are too inappropriate for their child's "fragile little minds"...

  • @OhHenryDude

The FCC has sucked it all away and Hollywood is turning us into mindless bobbole heads with their prodcutions of remake after remake.

  • @OhHenryDude Yes, it has. Today they keep making remakes of movies

  • This show is frickin' epic!

  • ahhh, if only the men now a days could be as faithful as MacBeth was to his wife. ( Not refering to shakespeare's play at all here though)

  • Ahh, Some still believe in acting as such. Me being one, and loving the woman i care for, without reason more then my feelings for her, and the love she gives me... I hope someday you find the same, "iceblonde"...

  • aww, that is so sweet. Thank you :)

  • LOL the sword goes behind the moon
