if you have wide angle lens with macro then just remove macro lens and you've got a fish eye. for video it works straight away but for photos you need to set the camera for macro.

Good trick. Not a true fisheye as some other have bitched about it, but a cheap and nice trick. It looks like a fisheye even though it is not (on a technical point of view).

Now, does it yield sharp images? Because, even in it's planned form, these are crap. I can't expect more from them in reversed form...

you are completely wrong!! a wide angle has a wider viewing angle while it does not distort the view, but a fisheye has a wider viewing angle as well as a bulge witch distorts the view giving it the fishey effect, therefore you cannot just switch the lens around. THEY ARE NO THE SAME THING!

Wide Angle and Fisheye ARE NOT the same thing. A Fish-eye is distorted and and has like a bulge to it wider than a wide angle thats what makes it distorted, a Wide angle goes as low as about 0.5X before it gets distorted. A baby Death Fish-eye is 0.3X. I got a Wide Angle that is 0.45X (0.5X is more than 0.45X, 0.5 is actually 0.50) And it has a slight distort to it.

thanx man, i've had this similar lens since i bought my camera (came with "bouns" kit), never used it cuz i didnt like the results, and after searching for macro lenses ("reverse macro technique") i decided to look for a fisheye as well and it brought me to u, it works good enough and after editing i'll be happier and now u can say i got a fisheye lens for free just like my new/old macro lenses, lol, So thank again.

Like in some videos, you can use thick paper or anything of that sort. I did that before I got a universal 37mm adapter so now its like my camera has a thread.. they run about 20 and the vig makes it look real. Worth buying for the future and looks great. What type of camera do you have? If it has a thread than you can just unscrew the first lens on your camera and screw in the wide angle itself.

this is not a fisheye at all. this is a lens with weird reverse perspective at the center. fisheye has a coverage of 180 degrees either in diagonal or v/h directions.

there is no difference for those who have never seen fish eye effect. i get you man and it looks nice. you dont scratch the lens if you dont hurry. you can also wrap your screw driver with some tissue so when it pops out on the lens it wont cost any damage. but i think you have to look for some wide angle lens which has the ring because ive seen some you cant get the lens out of.
