  • As that one dude said yes if you play an instrument you can usually tune with octives ( the cellos string thing that guy under me said) and when you play the octive to tune, the actual open string vibrates, like that dude said again, the glass vibrated, later making it weaker, and CRACK!!!!!

  • wao!! that a g#5 note!!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA. Your face made me laugh when the glass fell, haha. XD

I know how this works though. You sing at the same pitch that the glass resonates at (which explains why you were tapping the glass), so the glass vibrates and eventually cracks, breaks. You get this a lot with instruments, except it doesn't break. Take the cello, for example. If you were to play an A on the D string, you will find that the A string above the D string also vibrates, even though you are not bowing it.

  • its Shaggy wheres scooby?

  • You look like Shaggy from Scooby Doo.

  • Wouldn't it suck if the glass broke, but pieces of it flew into the person's mouth? XD

    :

  • @gloomy321 That happened the first time I tried it, I just spat it out...

  • Well done

  • very cool

  • awesomeeeee

  • haha nice ;]

  • SReAm LiKE MICHAEL JACKSON!!!!

  • I sing the same note that the glass gives off when i tap it. Really loud! Also you've got to have a glass with lots of sustain and purity to the tone. Good luck, and be safe!

  • hahaha he looks like shaggy from scooby-doo =D!

  • "Scooby doo the mystery begins"

  • @Nachoking19961

    you mean shaggy?

  • it´s my teacher

  • Lol, ur reaction

  • do you NEED to keep the glass close to your face? i'm afraid of hurting myself if i manage to break one lol

  • Haha, it's great to read all the comments, I understand that some of you think it's fake. I didn't believe it was possible until I saw it on mythbusters, then after at lot of trials I finally made it, so the next day I took another glass, same sort, and videoed it. Obviously the quality is very poor so I'm thinking of redoing it. Any suggestions from the sceptics, what would convince you?

  • @grisfisken Haha, that wasn't fake, you just wore the glass down until it couldn't take it anymore. Arrg, I wish I had some decent vocal chords.

  • @grisfisken the answer to why it breaks is: PHYSICS 8D!

  • Sugar glass(?)

  • sugar glass

  • lol his face looks so fucking funny

  • is that real?

  • that you know of... you can't seem them :)

  • his reaction was funny xD

  • the way it broke kinda makes it look fake... i'm not saying it is, just saying i would think it would shatter, not fall off the bottom

  • You could hear it ringing the first two times. That is impressive.

  • Haha. I love how you try twice and the third time the glass sort of flops off and you're going..."whoa..."

  • G# is how high my voice can go :D

  • lol fan vad pipigt skrik xD

  • If it's not a fake then just WoW!!

  • WTF so cooolll

  • nice...

  • Wow...

  • Brilliant! Grymt! Hittade något mythbustersklipp som sa ngt om "världens första"... det var dock gammalt, men är det alltså så att det är ett ganska nytt påfund detta?

  • Det sägs att Caruso gjorde det och säkert flera innan...

  • um honey?.......that was cool and everything but....you really shouldn't hold it THAT close to your face what if it had exploded!

  • LOL. XD

    Such a caring person. ^^

  • omg i turned the vomlume on mute too!!

nd i still heard i little...

    TRY IT!!!

  • u r metal

  • snyggt jobbat med glaset :)

  • I havn't and I don't smoke, the thing is I had done the same thing the day before, but without filming, so I had a sore throat. Besides, it didn't work the first time so to speak, I made many attempts with different glasses, also pitches like g#" is way out of my comfort zone.

  • ..ok,but less smoking

  • that was fast :)

  • woh, that was hilarious. pretty funny.

  • dude i muted my volume and i still heard a little no joke i'm serious

  • NICE!

  • omFg hahaha good one. :D

  • Haha, jag är inte från Sverige men älskar Sverige :P Bra jobbet!:)

but i hope you don't talk like that :)

  • Ja, kom igjen nu Andreas... -.- Seriøst: bra jobba ;)

  • Woah! I like his facial expressions as he's singing haha.

  • lol

  • I think the funny part about this is you can still hear his voice resonating even after he stops. just listen

  • i was scared (the headphones were turned on full) :(

  • I bet thats not crystal glass..

  • haha fan va coolt!!!

  • Nice one!

  • Can you sing that next to my math teachers head?

  • cool

  • ur really cute! can u please send me some pics of u?.. please...

  • ur cute!

  • omg, lol

    that so cool

  • You're right; the automatic compressing of the audio does not allow the full impact of your tone. On your first attempt, the glass (and the recording machinery and the room) ring your tone a full second after you stop; G-# indeed! And no, it's NOT A-flat. OUCH!

  • you have a great voice :) hehe and a good ear!

  • nice...

  • yeah!! ni är jhu svenskar

  • Ima use this for my science paper, kay?

  • sure

  • greatjob :) you're cute ahha

  • Wow! Impressive! . . . And uncanny. I know someone who looks very much like you and it confused me for a sec! :P Great job! I wanna try this myself . . . ;)

  • It looks like your going to throw out your voice! The muscles on the side of the neck shouldnt flex or strain to produce sound. Or else your voice will basically destroy itself and youll not be able to do it anymore. Sweet though. Ima do that if my mom lets me break her glasses! But im scared of glass breaking in my face.

  • have you considered opera lol

  • ya! you could get stabbed with a shard!

  • Hmm, well the first time I did it I got a piece of glass in my mouth, but I don´t really think there´s any real risk of "explosive shattering". Since the tone of the glass was really clear, there was probably not that much built up tension in it, so the point at which it breaks probably does not contain enough energy in built up tension to send shards flying. But surely glasses wouldn´t hurt, and if you´re about to repeat what I did, I guess I´d recommend it, better safe than sorry!

  • Dude wear saftey glasses when you do that! But very awesome!

  • I love the faces he makes.

  • It sure was a G# (aka Ab)!!

  • OMG xD

    5 stars..

    You're verry funny xD

  • haha sweeet, i watched tht mythbusters a min ago where they do that

  • coolness!!! :D

    5 stars

  • Bra jobbat, kanske det finns en framtid på Kosta Boda
