@qwasqwas2 yea EXACTLY, only the friggin best movie ever and of all the things you can ask them, you ask "whats your favorie line " and "favorite movie food". There should be a 2hr special on that movie with real facts and alllll the cast. (fyi, look up movie on wikipidia....amazing facts)
@qwasqwas2 exactly!! wtf, the opportunity of a lifetime and she asks "whats your favorite line" and "favorie movie food" that sucked!!! there needs to be a real 2 hr special on this movie. it was the best when it came out and it still has an effect on people today. (fyi, look up this movie in wikipedia..amazing facts)
The dancing scene always rang false for me, but this was the 80s when every movie seemed to have unnecessary MTV style, type video shots. Always kind of wished Hughes had filmed the Monday morning scenario. To film it realistically, it would have to show them completely snubbing each other. That might have changed the whole course of the movie's popularity though.
John Hughs movies were for me best because of the music. The heroes of his films were nerds who liked the same bad-assed music I did. The kicker was, that music was outside of what the 'cool kids' knew, but was what those kids would like in a year or so, once the radio exposed them to more of it. His movies really did celebrate the oddballs as cutting-edge, and made visionaries of the 'nerds' of the time.
I have spent an hour here typing and retyping what I want to say, and I just can't do it.
At the time, what John Hughes tapped into was the bleeding edge of cool, and the recognition of it still took years to seep into mainstream culture. I remember watching Pretty in Pink years after it was released, and the soundtrack was *still* years ahead of what was on the radio. This type of movie cant happen anymore, the net makes info so available, the culture is overexposed almost immediately.
pnce the song picked up in the end..and it showed a picture of them all together..made me realize how fast we grow up..and im only 15...

@linzie78 Well with the way the movie ends it leads us to conclusion that they won't snub each other on Monday.
