this aint that scary--- theres a 1 mile long tunnel near my house ( active) that i hiked with some friends- as a "funny" holoween prank... they decided to leave me in the middle of the tunnel at 11 oclock at night- then for just my luck- the train decided to go bye, u think this is scary? i had my flashlight in the tunnel- and was afraid of my own shaddow in there- you cant eaven see the other end of the tunnel until u make it half way
OK I HAVE BEEN TO THIS TUNNEL AND THERE IS NOTHING THERE I HAVE WALKED IT IN DAYLIGHT AND AT NIGHT THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS BOOGIE MEN OR DEMONS ITS JUST WEAKMINDED PEOPLE SUCH AS YOURSELF WILL FALL FOR THIS BS. i HAVE BEEN IN PLACES WHERE IT WAS SAID PEOPLE WERE KILLED SPENT THE NIGHT IN THEM AND NOTHING HAPPENED GET OVER YOUR SELF
I don't understand how this is supposed to be scary. Try Googling "Standedge tunnels" which link Yorkshire to Lancashire in the UK. The Victorian engineering in those is incredible - and the atmosphere in the disused bores is scary! In the middle there is the 'cathedral' which connect all the bores, and there are sub passages which lead to oblivion. Well worth a look on Flickr.
@bluebus270 You’ve got to be kidding? You take a boat through the Standedge canal and come out with a cup of java and donuts, people are doing it every day. Go into the train tunnel and you ain’t coming out.
@TexasStatesman It's the rail tunnel i meant my friend. There has been sinister pagan worship, ghosts and all sorts of unusual incidents in the "cathedral" over the years. Incidently you cannot travel through the canal tunnel unless you have vehicle back up in the disused rail tunnel. The Texas train tunnel looks pleasant and would kill half an hour, but it isn't very long and it looks as scary as Sesame Street.
@TexasStatesman Really? It's not even as long as the Flinderation tunnel of West Virginia and plenty of people have gone in there and come out. I don't really like to disrespect anything Texan because I love my state, but this really isn't that scary.
@shinyfuzzy Dude, get a job, move out of your parents basement and quit hiding behind your computer. Then if you ever believe you have what it takes. . . oh man, what I am thinking, you having what it takes? Now that is funny.
@xCloudfluff why would you go into a abandoned train tunnel too dangerous. This tunnel could cave in at anytime you never know.
Its common sense not to go though one, it may be still owned by someone, they might catch you on there property, send you to caught for trespassing on there property you never know.
I tried to enter the tunnel 2 different times but it just isnt possible without special equipment. The bats are a big concern regarding rabies but the 10 feet in front of the tunnel is not a solid surface and you basically just sink into the soil. I tried climb the hill to the other side but again not possible. Once inside the tunnel will present another set of problems with air quality, the unknown, ghost, etc.
@TexasStatesman I'm not sure where all of the TV paranormals, ghost hunters, spirit chasers, etc. are when you need them.
So i'll just play the advocate to make things fun, until they show up. There's a "face" in the center of the screen at :18, directly above the tunnel itself. ;-)
@jmr1068204 That is the spirit of Mr. Costello Portobello, an emigrant from Spain in the late 1800s. His and his buddys remains have yet to be removed after a hundred or so years.
The trick is to make staying out of the tunnel even scarier for the robot. For example, make the robot watch a science lesson from Glenn Beck, outside the tunnel. If the robot doesn't rip its video camera eyes out first, it won't be able to get in that tunnel fast enough.
to me at least, not scary. if I saw eyes and shit pop out of the walls, yah I'd be pretty scared. but abandoned railroads, even though its a shame they were abandoned in the first place, are awesome places. to see the old tunnels, bridges, cuts, and fills, and sometimes abandoned equipment, is truly amazing. especially when you stumble across it in the middle of nowhere.
I think the Catacombs under Paris, France are highly more frightening than this(because you can't see the light at the end of THOSE tunnels). Now that's the most scarriest place in the world and has been sealed off by the public for decades, and what do people do? Find entrances and go exploring until they get lost. There are only a few places left to find entrances to the Catacombs.
Why not go in, from other Youtube videos, many people do and there are many directional signs on the walls (So many people go down there, I hear Walmart is going open a super store). Its not the scariest place, just the frig'en CREEPEST PLACE ON EARTH.
Show me a video of a place scarier that this, it doesn't exist. Challenge to all, show me a scarier place. Anyone who can do this will take over the title "SCARIEST PLACE ON EARTH".
check out the documentary on the Goldmine in Nevada just type in Ghost Adventures. it's the best proof we have so far so it sayd its pretty interesting I think that is the scraiest place on earth
Even though I light heartingly call it the scarest place on earth (because its real close to being so), your description is right on. Hope you post your videos/pics. Be sure to view the other video I've posted, its a little more revealing.
Ask yourself, how many abandoned historical sites, that are over 100 years old, are you aware of that aren't in the middle of an amusement park, with a tour guide and a Starbucks at the entrance? Google abandoned train tunnels and you'll see any other tunnel is freely accessed by anyone. Go 10 feet inside this tunnel and you'll become part of the ambience, never to be heard of again. That's why this tunnel is the SCARIEST PLACE ON EARTH!
Where is that? I imagine it has to be somewhere close to the hill country. The reason I say this is because that is tho only part of Texas with trees and rocks like that.
I triple dog dare you!!!!
