As a STAY-AT-HOME mother - I do NOT find this offensive. Everyone has choices to make in their lives - I didn't feel like my career as a systems analyst was that important to me. I was lucky enough to have the ability to stay home with my kids. Everyone makes different choices in their own lives - if I had her career I'd probably do the same as she did and stay at work. Personally, my job was not fulfilling enough. I admire working moms - they have 2 very difficult jobs.

There are millions that feel the same as you. If we unite I am positive a Dem would be in the WH. Obama just does not work for me. As a STAY-AT-HOME mother - I do NOT find this offensive. Everyone has choices to make in their lives - I didn't feel like my career as a systems analyst was that important to me. I was lucky enough to have the ability to stay home with my kids. Everyone makes different choices in their own lives - if I had her career I'd probably do the same as she did and stay at work. Personally, my job was not fulfilling enough. I admire working moms - they have 2 very difficult jobs.

Women at that time were often made to feel guilty for working and not staying home with their children, she was responding to that ongoing criticism. It's unfortunate that she faced this issue such a long time ago, dealt with it, and now is having it dragged out again.

The difference is, he made his comments a only a week ago and Hillary was hammered over this 16 years ago. She made efforts to show she was sorry for offending women, while Obama keeps saying his remarks are true.

wow, those remarks actually are condescending. It's remarks like these that help belittle women who choose to be stay-at-home moms. It's a lot of work to take care of things at home.
I choose to stay home and "make cookies and tea" because I want my children to grow up in a loving home with a mom who is there for them, not in a daycare with God knows how many other kids. I just feel grateful that my husband makes enough money for our family to live in a traditional way.

Okay, so she wasn't about to stay home and bake cookies and host little tea parties. I don't think Hillary was trying to come across as an elitist so much as trying to prove how "butch" she is.
It's consistent with her downing boilermakers in Pa. this weekend, and touting her "Mitten-like" experience with huntin' varmints. Oh, and her enthusiasm for the War in Iraq and going after them, there terrorists in Iran.
She's strong, she's resilient, and by God, she's manly!
