Republicans are the mortal enemy of every single American, whether they know it or not. Corporate scum suckers every single one of them. Look at the song and dance they made out of Insurance reform. Imagine Obama tried to completely socialize healthcare, like every other industrialized nation. I hate the GOP and every single one of their supporters.
@PoorMansPlato I'm sorry about your Dad, I lost my Dad at an early as as well.
However, your comment is jackassery. No one will recall health care reform, and it will march forward over the years. probably too slowly, but it'll go forward. financial reform will probably also go through. ron paul is not going to be president.
look at the political winds.. the teabaggers have peaked, the right is slowly distancing itself. I think the Dems, "IF" they go on the offense, will pick up seats.
"A new Quinnipiac poll of the FL governor's race finds that 54% of voters think that (florida) State Attorney General Bill McCollum's health care reform lawsuit is a "bad idea," compared to 40% who back the lawsuit."
repealing hcr is a politically bad idea. obama will be re-elected in 2012.
Classy, google sells advertising space on every youtube page that it can, and I don't get a say on the matter and I don't get a thing from it.
I view youtube on firefox with adblock plus. therefore, I never see these ads. videos are not delayed by commercials, sarah palin's ugly face isn't grinning at me from the corner. it works great.
@KataVideo Your very own channel. Went back there again and google is still placing their ads on your channel. Perhaps you can't see it but we can..YES WE CAN!
@classicallady I used another browser and saw an ad from the "harrington college of design". it all depends on which server you get when you navigate to the page, I guess. If marco rubio thinks he's going to get votes from MY channel, he's out of his lightweight mind.
Jim Demint did fail, but a republican failing isn't exactly news. It'd be news if a republican or conservative had an actual success. It's nice being back Kata. Sorry I've been gone so very long. Keep up the good fight-th1mastermike. This is my new account.
The tragic (TOXIC) dumbing down of the conservative movement (1950s-present): Buckley / Goldwater (rolling over in their graves) Nixon's Secret Plan & Southern Strategy Reagan (Trickle-down & massive DEBT) Religious right hijacks Jesus. GOP hijacks the flag. Limbaugh & Hate Radio Family values hypocrisy Fox "News" Bush/Cheney Palin Birthers Beck GOP-Baggers (GOP hijacks Tea Party.) The abyss? Conservatives, you are HERE.
it is 100% true that buckley would not approve of today's racist, sexist, homophobic neo-birch conservatards. in fact, he single-handedly kept that nonsense from rising to the top of the conservative movement. now that he's gone, we see that there's very few gops and cons willing to stand up and condemn their brownshirt tactics.
Great video, Kata. I am soooo enjoying watching the Rethugs and Tea Baggers ring their hands in despair while proclaiming to anyone who'll listen "WE'RE ALL DOOMED!!!" If nothing else, it's the best entertainment I've had since Obama got elected. :)
Next in line: Lets finish off the republican party. They are down. Make sure they don't get back up and there is always more down for them to go as long as they have talking heads.
After I heard Jim DeMint say this, I knew healthcare absolutely had to pass. If it failed, it would have rendered Obama a lame duck, with the Republicans crowing and repeating this meme so often that it becomes truth.
It passed. The back of the Republican Party has finally been broken! Snap!
I respectively disagree with you and the boys on the Healthcare Bill - it WAS Waterloo, Napoleon being the American people and Wellington the Insurance Companies and Corporate America.
The bill still leaves 24 million uninsured, raises taxes on the middle class "Cadillac plans," will lead to healthcare costing 20% of GDP by 2019.
Insurance is not healthcare. 68% of medical bankruptcies were declared by people who HAD INSURANCE. Some will be afraid to use it.
I don't know all the details of the plan, but if the "mandatory coverage" or you get fined thing then it blows. It's one thing to make auto insurance mandatory. No one HAS to drive, but to do it to health insurance means that you are taxed because you live. Is there universal health care? No? So why am I being taxed?
Yes. When we here in Cali (after debating for years to get No Fault insurance, which the Corporatist Democrats and the Insurance Industry didn't want) passed mandatory car insurance, I went without a car for the better part of a decade, even resorting to 4 hours a day on the bus to finish my education. I also drove without insurance, in violation of the law for 6 months. I can't tell you what I've had to resort to today to get insurance.
Not bullshit. You don't have to drive. You can walk, use a bike, take the bus, etc. I have friends that dont drive.
Also why would I wright an email thanking him? His major ideas didnt even get in the bill. I appreciate that he tried, but what we have could end up being much worse. People wanted a public option or single payer because they didnt want to buy into a corrupt system. Now we are being forced to. We will have to see if this bill makes the system better in the end.
@OniLinkSword Dude I think single payer would be the best as well. However, I CHALLENGE YOU to send me a PM from major polling groups that show single payer could have passed...Even a PO.
I always hear my fellow progressives say this but it simply is NOT TRUE!
Obama knew this and shot for what was possible.
This bill sets the ground work for further action down the road! We can't change everything overnight!
Health care reform raises taxes on the rich dumbass. 3% increase to medicare tax if couples make over $250,000. 3% on capital gains. Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest americans was a 6% decrease in their taxes and capital gains was lower than it had been for a long time. If someone making $250,000 a year cannot afford an extra $450 tax for the year, he or she needs to move to an island and live off coconuts because they cannot maintain their finances very well.
"An important component of the longer-term analysis is that, beginning in 2019, the reconciliation proposal would change the annual indexing provisions so that the premium subsidies offered through the exchanges would grow more slowly; over time, the spending on exchange subsidies would therefore fall back toward the level under H.R. 3590 by itself."
Under the presidents plan, those families with health care plans over $27,500 and individuals with plans over $10,200 would be taxed starting in 2018. That tax would be indexed to the Consumer Price Index plus one percent, which would provide some additional comfort to those with high-end policies — specifically for labor workers who had bargained for these plans.
Conservative kooks with a camera or microphone will be even more deranged than usual.
Rush's inner demons will be uncontrollable today. The ankle grabbing, bending over a barrel and soap dropping references fueled by homoerotic self-projections will be at record levels. Along with the assault on minorities.
Beck will take the opportunity to remind us that he fears for his family-- probably as early as Fox & Fools.

Now, if America was up to date on public transportation I could see your point...However, we are forced to drive and forced to have insurance.
Stop with the straw man arguemants and go write an email Thanking President Obama!
