I love Maria callas so much, and this video makes me love her even more. She sung everything how it should have been sung, and sadly, even though i want to become an opera singer, no one will ever match up to her musicality and voice,so I suppose being an opera singer would be almost pointless after the world has experienced the best opera singer that they will ever get, and yet being an opera singer is the most fulfilling thing I could do with my life

No offense. Callas was a great and important 20th century opera singer. I'm a fan. But from footage such as this, no matter how you justify it, her personality is conceited, arrogant and spoiled. She is a total diva.. She could have said "I just vant to be alone" LOL But from biographies she was insecure and very unhappy in her personal life. Still, I find it interesting that other sopranos like Beverly Sills were modest and humble.

Arrogant, when the situation called for it, such as here, dealing with a stupid gaggle of arrogant reporters. She was sometimes happy and sometimes unhappy. She was sometimes secure and sometimes insecure. She was often modest and humble.

She is La Divina. Great character, on and off the stage. Bravo, Maria, for ever!

i've seen this footage before and though i love her i can't help but feel how naive she could be sometimes(strange statement i know) - no one else would give those airport reporters the time of day but as usual she gave and gave! from a certain point in the fifties all anyone wanted to do was 'bait' Callas and bring out Le Tigre and its an indictment of the times,not Callas, that an artist of her calibre could be trated as such. Viva Maria!

Her beauty was in the fact her voice was unpolished, and at times raw, but that gave it more natural beauty and charm than all the women since who tried to sound beautiful and ended up not remembered. Suck on that Opera collector!

In her prime, she could sing absolutely anything and had a three octave vocal range. Her sense of drama and musicianship has never been equaled - let alone surpassed. She could wed text with music like no one before or since. Opera is said to exist B.C. and A.C -----before Callas and after Callas.

She was simply smart, speaking and singing four or five languages!

I think it's pretty easy to discern characteristic elements of the Greek culture in her personality, even in those brief encounters here!... These cultural elements are all over her manorisms, expressions, bodily and textual interactions with others. She appears 110% Greek, and if you can't see it, then you should start considering that perhaps don't know much about cultures and their different norms.

Maria Callas' UNPOLISHED and HARSH voice definitively was not beautiful, and after her famous tapeworm-diet her voice was the worst (she damaged her vocal cords). Her notorious vocal decline began when she had only 39 yold.

whoever to listen Callas' voice FOR FIRST TIME, says that it's INSUPPORTABLE.... and the first impression is the true one!.

...and the ugly & temperamental prima donna wasn't a good person, she died without husband, friends and relatives. When her own mother requested 100 dollars to her, she furiously said "...you must jump by the window...". Callas hated her mother who lives in the poverty. You must to ask why Callas hated her mother...her history is horrible too like her voice. She wasn't a saint......
