  • Why children?Children are considered cheaper, more expendable, and easier to condition than adult .That's also why they're forced to work in many third world countries. They fill such harsh roles as factory laborers and porters, and they're even exploited by the sex industry.By themselves they can't stand up for their rights or even say "No."Such abuse is just plain evil. All the people in the world have a responsibility to aid in the cessation of child abuse, don't we?

  • Ya fuck u must really be on aids racist

  • I used to be part of this. Luckily the goverment helped us and we escaped. I watched my best friend get strangled by our master...that piece of crap went to jail for life

  • haahhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhaa stupid poor kids.........bet thier muslum and jewish

  • @koolAIDS911 RACIST

  • @koolAIDS911 YOU ARE A RACIST PERSON

  • @koolAIDS911 I bet your American o.o

  • circle of life folks.. too many people having too many babies results in economic circumstances that result in this kind of life. i don't feel sorry for these people for the same reason i don't feel sorry for sea turtles who have 200 little baby turtles and 197 die. If all the baby turtles survived, they would quickly consume all the vegitation in the ocean. The logic is the same as humans having 10-15 children they cannot provide for. if 1 or 2 survive, then mother nature has done her job.

  • Although many would automatically blame the free market, the problem is not enough free market. The hardest countries in the world in which to set up a business is Africa. There are countless rules and it takes a long time, not to mention you have to be on good terms with the ruler and pay him off big time. So no companies go there. Without more companies, there is no competition for labor, so companies can pay very little for it. If they had to compete to get labor, they'd have to raise wages.

  • Thank you America.

  • @ghos7bear not just america, but the whole thing called industrialism, modernization, free market, greedyness and kim kardarshian

  • @starryskies223 I'm brainwashed? I bet you went to a public school, which is nothing but Marxist, America hating, capitalism hating, and Christianity hating brainwashing.

  • @DarrelfromZeeland u dont know the 1st thing about being a Christian i see u blocked me, scared to debate the trollish idea u have huh?

  • @starryskies223 Newsflash dumbass. There's no such thing as "human rights". Never has been, never will be. There are only human privileges.

  • Comment removed

  • @DarrelfromZeeland so right to life (anti abortion people) dose not provide a right since u are anti abortion do u not belive in the right to life?

  • @starryskies223 $1 an hour is better than nothing, which is what they get when the government interferes with business by banning child labor. So you're the one who really wants to see them starve. Silly libturd, facts are for conservatives!

  • @DarrelfromZeeland and what dose one buy with a dollar an hr?

  • @starryskies223 Newsflash dumbass. Minimum wage and child labor laws are UNCONSTITUTIONAL. No smart business owner would intentionally mistreat his workers.

  • @DarrelfromZeeland hey mike huckabee ted nugent and tadius mcotter all play rock music and are conservatives, so are they wrong to?

  • @hellfirewrestling98 Rock is Satan's music.

  • @DarrelfromZeeland ok. than u should call out republicans like Nugent Huckabee and Mcotter for playing rock music, also if minimum wage and unemployment is "unconstitutional" as u say i dont see anywhere in the constitution where tax breaks for big business are mentioned also where do u stand on the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, stating, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion"? I know u support slavery but do u hate all black people ?

  • @hellfirewrestling98 They haven't awoken to the fact that rock is evil. Newsflash dumbass. Those tax breaks are creating JOBS by giving back to business what was robbed from them by tax and spend libturds to pay for your entitlements.

  • @DarrelfromZeeland it is not an entitlement if someone has paid into somethinglike SSI or unemployment insurance for years more like an insurance policy that u cash out if needed.tax breaks didnt create jobs when bush did them and they are not creating jobs now if so please cite a source . and remember to be anti abortion (witch is a good thing ) is a RIGHT TO LIFE

  • @hellfirewrestling98 If they aren't creating jobs, it's because of unions and job killing regulations like labor and environazi laws.

  • @DarrelfromZeeland So look at China it has what u ask for (no labor or enviormental laws) the jobs are sub par and the quality of life is bad what is your problem with a law that says u cant pollute?

  • @hellfirewrestling98 Pollution laws violate the business owner's rights.

  • @DarrelfromZeeland no one should have a right to pollute on pouropse, i could say that drunk driving laws violate my rights to drink and drive,

  • @DarrelfromZeeland i cant find tax breaks in the constitution either if we are to go just by the constitution than no tax breaks for business to

  • @starryskies223 Newsflash dumbass. Those "corporate scum" work 16 hours a day, including weekends and holidays, to make their companies successful. They took the time to get themselves educated and took the risks starting and building their companies from the ground up. I'd rather have those kids doing the work than our overpaid Marxist mafia controlled brownshirt union goons. If the little punks get beaten, they probably deserved it.

  • this world blows honestly. What a fuck up! First world exploiting the third world. Stronger using the weaker. Rich fucking up the poor. I look at my desk littered with wasted food that I am gonna throw away, half full cans on soda I did not drink cause it got warm.

  • @jad1025 You'd rather have communism, Komrade Marx? Newsflash dumbass. Communism doesn't work. Socialism is a proven failure the world over. Life isn't fair. Never has been. Never will be. Get over it.

I'll take FREEDOM over "fairness" any fucking day!

  • Of course child labor is undesirable (to say the least), but you have to be realistic. The parents in those countries don't make their kids work because they are cruel or don't love their kids. It's called poverty. You have 3 options: (1) have your kid not eat; (2) have your kid work in a factory or mine; or (3) have your kid be a prostitute and drug hustler. After countries started boycotting products manufactured through child labor, that's what the kids turned to after being laid off.

  • *pulls a gun* run brown kiddies! YOU ARE FREE!

  • @garrettdabadass You're not Chuck Norris :c

  • the reporters lips look like she sucked a big black cock

  • @garrettdabadass Of course she did. She's a liberal.

  • Sony, Apple, dell, foxconn. Consumers who care, choose future purchases wisely.

  • these people work hard stop swearing on em

  • the most very cheep chinese products are made by child labor ! In china ,child labors are kidnapped by chinese govement !

  • @jabjabmove also, think about this. the people who go to these countries and make these videos dont give a fuck about these kids. they just want to sell a "moving and heart breaking video." 90% of the time they make it appear worse then it is ... just out of cameras view there are most likely kids getting medical care or learning to read. the world isnt perfect. some kids in america get raped and murdered. some africans are starving. and some children have to work to live.

  • @jabjabmove Alright everybody listen up. i would rather see these kids work their asses off then to see them starve. do i think that there are some corparate assholes who pay these kids shitty wages, yes. but i also believe there are some decent fuckers out there who take care of their workers. kinda like how all slave owners didnt whip and beat their slaves. by the way, everything you own just about was made by child labor...anything made in china or any other slant eye country.

  • Hey guys, looking for a short film for school on child labor? Please check out my channel and subscribe/watch my child labor psa! Thanks a bunch!

  • @starryskies223 they make less then a dollar because there economy, a dollar here isnt the same there as it is here. as for abuse i dont like it. i can agree with you on that. but remember that these are third world countries you shouldnt expect there standards to be at the same levels as ours. but you shouldnt have a problem with a kid working if its their choice, however if there being forced to work i dont like it unless its the only way to survive. judge not lest ye be judged.

  • @Insane82chevy They choose to work because if they don't, them and their families will die you fucking idiot. They have no choice.

  • all of you people who call themselves "Activists' need to wake the fuck up and realize that slavery and human suffering through psychotic domination will never just dissapear unless the entire system and everything that takes part in it is put to a stop. the ones who produce it, the consumers, and the ones who force both people to continue the cycle all will need to cease. u just simply cannot try and tip toe your way around having an equalmass production force. theres billions of people.wake up

  • what a teribble youth

  • really? this is sad? i dislike my fellow americans right now. if a kid has to help to put food on there table so they dont die...i think if there able they should be. i use to play in the dirt as a kid for fun. and there getting paid to do it! i also use to work my ass off as a kid because at the time we was living day to day. so stop your fucking crying..kids these days cant even lift a finger! thats why there are so fat.. because of all you pussys .

  • @Insane82chevy that's a horrible thing to say their barely getting payed!!! and their not playing in dirt!!! AND a lot of them die or get injured very badly if u think its not that bad how bout you go and try it than we'll c who's crying

  • @Insane82chevy

Do you happen to own a factory that has employed hundreds of child labourers who get paid less than $3 per week? If so, I can totally understand why you don't want people to disagree with child labour.

  • @Insane82chevy Kids can't raise a finger because that's the the new world order zionists want it. They've been planning this for centuries.

  • Yah but Americans are hypocrites, if there was no child labor then prices would increase and lazy Americans would be pissed. Even though minimum wage is like 10 dollars an hour and most people around the world make less than 1 dollar an hour. Wow America fucking stop complaining you fucking fat pieces of shit.

  • @371terry Oh I forgot to add Lazy Europeans as well.

  • Ironic how all of the comments are "so sad" but less than 10% of you will turn into smart consumers. I don't meant smart consumers as in looking out for your wallet, I mean smart consumers as in looking out for the wallets of the people who made your products, because they are the ones that really matter.

  • this is so sad :(

  • I had an urge to hug each and every child I saw in this video.

  • People should care more about school and have a good life these peple dont have so much rights than us they were born to work than have a good life and education, these people are not lucky but look at us using money on T.V. internet and more but these people get less than there work hours i hope this gets more views to see child labour is wrong and having a freedom is right.

  • The 11 people who dislike this, have no respect and are selfish.

  • @TorontoHornets12 they could be sad and they disliked it because they thought it was to sad of a video to like or something, or they are trolls like 70% of youtubers nowadays

  • @1GBMProductions true...

  • It's funny how the rich kids hate school, while poor people are into school

  • if you take all things into consideration earth could easily be mistaken for hell

  • Worst thing in the world = Child labor.

  • Thankyou for all understanding my veiws i thought i was going to get hate for saying that lol.

  • at least they arnt as bad as all the other starving africans waiting for white man to help them.....these guys are actually doing something

  • @WolfZeroBlade It also gives them experience so that not only realize that they have to work to get money for what they want, but also be prepared for their own future. They can die sooner because they are wasting their energy if working at a young age, and also get very little or no education at all, which won't be good for them.

  • @oliver18754 If children get experience in working, it should be doing something like a paper route or getting a part time job and yet still be allowed to go to school. They shouldn't be working in jobs like this that are hazardous.

  • Wolfzeroblade@ let's see u go there and work even if ur not a child

  • I kind of think Child Labour is a good thing in a way because it gives them and their families money.

Without it they would probly be dieing faster, even thought about it like that?

  • @WolfZeroBlade and they give us cheap stuff!

  • child labour is a curse to society ... instead of telling others to do something .. think about what you can do for this children ...

  • HELLO

  • quicksilver while an early home education on work and the like is "cool" forcing children to work in mines for pennies a day is not imagin that a younger sibling of yours is in the same type of thing would it still be "cool"

  • :D hahahahahahahahahahahahahahha child labour :D

  • @nigsaywhat217 its not funny thats sad

  • @nigsaywhat217 Your a complete failure to society aren't you.

Look at you, Pathetic. I'd like to see you go to Malaysia and work in a sweatshop. Dumbshit.

  • hahahhahhahhah

  • dear quiksliver209 child lanbor is not cool it is sad

  • child labor is cool!! I wish I had learned working skills at a young age instead of wasting my time in government run schools.

  • I made a power point presentaion for my class and now were paritcipating in a 30hour famin for them to raise money

  • Gotto give them credit for such hard work.

I dont think its right to make the whole "child work" thing a crime eather, isnt it like making it all harder for them? They need it for survival right. As he said he'd rather go to school if he could.

  • I want clear declaration on my products, "made without child labor"

  • I've seen soccer balls (footballs) that are labeled "made without child labor".

  • I just one question, not important at all, but, I would like to know what is the name of the leader when start the report, in so far as I don't understand (he is 15 years old, I believe). If you can help me, it will be very nice.

  • wow you people use big worlds, i feel so stupid, im only in yr 8 so i'll never niche properly in this society (for now >:) )

  • 1 in 7 o.O

  • lol, typical Progressive cowardice to downrate comments without actually having the brains or balls to counter what I say.

The only reason you even have the luxury to criticize Capitalism is because Capitalism gave you that opportunity via low cost of living and high quality of life.

Grow a spine (and maybe a dick, too, you pussies)! You pencil-neck weaklings are the first to be removed from the gene pool whenever there's catastrophic disasters.

  • And who is she to decide what a childhood should be like? What they should not have taken away from them is there ability to work. That is just cruel and guarantees they won't have a shot at survival. I don't mind private charity, but don't get gov'ts involved. It's no coincindence these laws are pushed by non-economists.

  • yes, but do you realize that she is right? child labor is the worst thing that could have EVER come to this world. the average number of children that die EACH DAY in child labor facilities due to dangerous jobs is 5 per day? did you also know that children who are freed from labor that go around and talk about what goes on there get killed? there was a child who was 12 and was released from labour 11 years ago and went to talk about what it was like and was killed because of it. it's horrible.

  • @Piper8121

5 per day of how many facilities? What's your source? Regardless, what I'm talking about is the reality. This isn't some kind of predatory capitalism at work. They are not yet at the productivity threshold to not have parents send their kids to earn a wage to assist the household income so they can survive.

    You would have them starve?

  • to continue...

and YOU would never know what it's like to be in a sweat shop or a child labor facility because either youre not young enough, or it just doesnt happen here. i bet atleast 75% of your clothing and shoes come from a child labor/sweat shop facility. i bet that 99.9% of your household things are from a sweat shop/child labor facility. think about it! you will never know, so therefore you dont care! i only have learned about it, and i had relatives that expeirenced it.

  • @Piper8121

"Sweat shops" pay more than the native wages (they wouldn't have accepted the jobs otherwise), often many times more. The biggest beneficiary to trade with the first-world countries are the third-world countries. They are getting pulled out of poverty faster than the Europeans did because the Europeans didn't have a greater power to trade with.

You're just an irrational bleeding heart. Your ilk need to go study economics before preaching what gov't policies should be

  • @Piper8121

implemented (that often work to hurt those they intend to help even worse).

Sorry, but "feelings" don't cut it in the real world. I hear there's this thing called logic. Apparently, it's liberated millions of people to better lives.

Gov't law don't reduce poverty. They only delay how quickly the free market enables people to escape it. Why is it that almost every economist will tell you this but you bleeding hearts don't recognize it?

  • People like this journalist would have a rude awakening if they got transported back in time.

These are people with degrees getting paid decent to very good salaries saying the most idiotic bullshit. They need to stick to reporting and stay away from judging. And bleeding hearts in general need to stay away from tampering with free trade, you'll only slow the process down that is solely responsible for getting people out of poverty.

  • The kids are working for a reason. This primitive economy needs as much productivity as it can get if the parents and children are to survive. The US didn't eventuall break out of child labor until the industrial revolution gave our economy the capital to produce enough to survive without needing as many kids; this is also the reason why we stopped having as large of families. Our child labor laws only came after we had the luxury of considering not using children.

  • It's so hilarious how economically illiterate these bleeding hearts are.

It's not that these parents are somehow evil. It's just the reality if these people want to survive. Their economist is extremely primitive and they have almost no capital. Through free trade, they'll eventually get pulled out of it; faster than the Americans and Europeans did in fact.

The absolute worst thing you could do to these people is make a law outlawing child labor. It would cause mass starvation.

  • @selfrealizedexile ....what's the point of your comment, the reporter is trying to provide awareness of the state in these economies. I think we know that they work for survival. The problem is some of these children are suffering, beaten byy the factory owners.

  • Very dubious at best; BBC is a Progressively-biased outlet and has been for some time. They raise "awareness" so that gov'ts will further coerce away people's freedoms.

  • This is a generalization against all child labour. Each situation is different. I focus my attention on children who are unnecessarily forced into labour. Children forced to work when the families survival isn't dependent on it. I try and donate to organizations that help fight this. Organizations that help pull children out of work and put them into school while also helping the families.

As cliche as this may sound, knowledge is power ;-)

Please excuse my English as I'm still learning it.

  • As long as it's private charity and not gov't coercion, I couldn't care less.

  • His father can`t pay so he can not go to school. And tell me, that money is the very best thing in the world so people like this kid have to sacrifice their lives in the name of it. This world will end up very bad.

  • Your honesty kidding right?!

  • No O_O if children want to stay warm they have to mine their share of coal, it's only fair

  • wow.. ignorant doesnt even describe you if your honestly serious.

  • What so it's ok if adults kill themselves labouring, but not for children O_o they'll be adults to someday,

  • give the children a chance to live! adults had a chance to live and get by, why not give the children an education so they can actually make something of themselves.

  • I don't think you respect the workers very much, make something of themselves? what's the point, expectations keep going up so everyone has to try harder, and step on others to make sure they prosper, and I'd rather be able to look in the mirror and still see a soul behind my eyes.

  • Exactly! I dont know what everyone else are thinking!!

  • Comment removed

  • Fuck the United Nations

    sham and scam

  • thx darwin..

  • You say "thx darwin" as if the boys in Africa who are willing to work long hours to buy scraps of food are worth less and weaker than your most-likely fat white American ass who complains if godsized mega valuburger is too cold when you get home. Go fuck yourself, you ignorant mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging twat and learn how to at least write in your own language.

  • ohm, obviousley there is misunderstanding.

i said "thanks darwin" because im convinced that this misery is a result of darwin's theory: we are like animals, only the fittest survives etc.

if people would believe in god , as prescribed, there wouldn't be such things, because it would be our duty to take care of those poor children...

By the way: i am not american, i actually don't live in the usa ;)sorry for my bad english, not my native language

  • Well that's better then, sorry for misunderstanding. I get fed up reading some of the mega-racist posts on threads like these where over-privileged Americans criticize helpless children.

  • me too;)

  • @nefilim314

but you're american yourself, aren't you?

  • fuck you you ignorant british piece of shit go brush your rotten yellow tea stained teeth

  • i lol'd

  • we watched this in assembly today at school and saw your comment and every rofl'd XD

  • Im am proud to be white on this planet, and Im sure someone from china is proud to be chinese so on and so forth...but come on people we all eat to shit! Meaning we all bleed red...how can you judge a culture? ...we have one thing different than these african people...WATER, if Africa was rich in water the 10 or so children would be fed and could take care of themselves...get your heads out of your asses, I hope one day you realize how idiotic your way of thinking is.

  • I doubt that this operation is really making a lot of money, since the method of extraction is so slow and primitive. I know it sounds callous, but these people are really lucky to be eating in the circumstances under which they are living.

  • My dream job is to be an ambassador for the United Nations, so that i would be able to help many kids and families in 3rd world countries.

  • If I were you, I would find a different dream. UN stands for United Nothing. That's because it accomplishes nothing.

In the human world, one man's happiness is based on another man's unhappiness.

The reason why there is poverty is because some other people are rich.

If you want to help those children, overthrow their government and all the countries that support the current regime.

UN has no power to do it. The countries with the power to do it are not willing to do it.

  • 7337 7337 7337...:(

  • i studied this video in english!

  • at least they get something

    this is an economy

dont bash it u stupid liberals

  • ....

  • @trevor920 - Are you serious mate. An economy is a system of exchanging values. What price would you put on your childhood? I know it is a complicated world, and there are no absolutes, but surely we can all agree that childhood is sacred? How is it just that a) they work at all b) they aren't even paid enough to feed themselves.

  • This is awful. Imagine beeing one of those kids. They have nothing to live for. Next time you feel depressed, think about them. How bad must they feel to work every day for 1 dollar, non-stop?

It's worse when you think about the big companies making money off child labor. And we're talking about MILLIONS. These kids get just a few dollars every week for their hard work.

  • The work camps are protected by army, but outside the camps is not. and the whoel area (other than the camps) is infested with murdering gangs.

    Isn't that a coincidence !

They protect them, only inside a work camp ! Even medical care, and chocolate, but ONLY in the work camp !

  • This is all so sick. So sick.

They just dont teach about this in school, or anywhere, and we support it every tme we buy a phone. I read a book by Andy McNab, and he was in africa in the 1980's and it was eXACTLY the same then, and has not changed.

I have serious dilemas about who we in the west are, nowadays. We are brought up to believe we are christians. And yet our leaders fund this kind of filth, and slavery and murder, and all sorts of horrors, just for our stinking trinkets.

  • What do you mean exactly. "We are brought up to believe we are christians," I am atheist, i wasnt brought up to believe im christian, and I am from the west. Its statements like these that piss people off. I am not pissed off offended or anything, but I mean just watch when you talk about religion on youtube

  • satan speaks thru your mouth, and brings you to sin !

  • Idiot.

  • repent, sinner !

The time is nigh, and soon yu will have to face your lord, for he is on the waY !

    woooo !

  • Haha, epic :D

  • aweful

  • dont buy nike or sean john fuck p diddy stop supporting these crooks

  • That's horrible!!! I read a book in school. It's called Iqbal. It's a real story and it is a GREAT book! Read it! Support causes against child labor.

P.S. I am 13 and want to stop child labor.

  • how are you going to do that?

  • I plan on having some sort of fundraiser like a bake sale. Then donate this money to UNICEF. The pay off the families' dept this way and free the children

  • Why don´t you donate the money directly to someone who need it, instead of letting unicef money-loundry steal 90 %?

  • fyrstikken, UNICEF does not "steal" 90% of donated funds. On the converse, 90.5% of their expenses are spent on programs as opposed to administrative for fundraising expenses. And as a large, well-established organization they have a history of progress. It may not be the best option, but its certainly a worthy one and a great place to start. Do you realize your comments could be discouraging for a 13-year-old? Is that what you want? Is it worth it to make a point and feel right?

  • cut the drama - I´ve been working with Unicef before, and for the Red Cross - your money is not going to help anyone but a gray-faced administration worker employed to earn your donations.

  • Why isnt anyone helping what are the owners of the mines thinking. Their actions are totally wrong

  • this reminds me about a book i read Iqbal i love it

  • I think from watching this, it's important to reflect on the things we do have, and maybe think about what we can do to help these kids. Maybe boycott a corp or two (in reality, we buy from so many places that use child labour. It's mind-boggling!), or we could raise awareness. Do what you can and do as MUCH as you personally can. We're here to take care of each other.

  • "We should be grateful for what we have"

This notion is the very thing most of us take comfort in and in turn reinforces the blind eye of not helping others.

  • I respectively disagree. I am very grateful for what I have, but I don't believe it stops me from helping anyone. Part of my fulfillment is through volunteering. Because I am content with my life and learned to love myself, I feel I am at a point that I can now love and help others and give back to the world.

So if anything, I feel quite the opposite. Part of what Im grateful for is my ability to help. Have a good one. :)

  • Its really nice to hear your doing this. I never doubted some do it, but unfortunatly, its only 'some'. The rest falls into the catagory originally refered to.

Im spectical about 'raising awarness' becuase I think most people are already aware about these things anyway. I dont know about you, but in my experience, holding large corporations accountable is not something most people want to hear, since corporations give us our modern comforts - the very things people treasure the most.

  • I hear you. Although it's true people don't want to criticize large corporations due to the modern comforts, any effort I believe is worth it. This is why I was proposing people do little things, consume LESS than usual from said companies or maybe volunteer in some way. I don't expect people to make HUGE changes because a) low awareness and b) big changes can be hard to swallow. I havent completely stopped buying name brands, but I buy less.

  • Also, unless directly affected, some won't want to be made aware of it. Thankfully, I have met many people who DO want to do good in this world and that can be done in many ways. Community work is great for that because you get to help those in your neighbourhood and see the direct impact. Keeps my hope alive. : )

  • @Existantia this is liberal garbage. boycotting a corp or two, are you kidding? raise awareness? no one gives a shit! these childrens lives are being stolen and you want to boycott come shit? get real. this is world. accept the terrible world youve been given or set yourself to destroy this miserable reality completely.

  • God save them

  • Come to Canada my friends :D Ill pay you 10 doallers a hour and give you free beer ! Its ok that your young to . Your doing hard work. Hang in there guys ...

  • That is so sad....watching this almost makes me cry.

  • I think Americans should exchange their black people for hard working blacks from Africa.

  • why cant u americans get those lazy bums on welfare to get jobs!!!

  • What these kids are being forced to do in the Congo is very different from working part time at a grocery store. Did you even watch the video?

  • Yeah, did you watch the video?

These kids are working illegally for less than one dollar a day! The trek to their work site takes at least two hours. They work all day, NOT PART-TIME, in toxic conditions. In trying to support their families, they are not getting any education, UNLIKE kids in Western countries who are working part-time while also going to school.

  • And most of the children in the United States dont appreciate the opportunites given to them. A national 28% dropout rate and less than 30% college graduation rate. Fucking pathetic. Dont worry though, nothing makes you appreciate what you had more than losing it, and at this rate that lesson will be learned soon.
