This is an artistic protest like we used to do and I still believe in. War is not a solution and people listen to the artists of the world. Thanks Eric, Love your music, love your voice, just saw you perform live in Vegas. You still sound great. You sang a blues song I was not familar with at the opening of the the show that was fab but you flattened me to the ground with "I believe to my soul" Down with war, Rock and roll forever.

Eric uses unfortunate current disasters such as what happened in New Orleans (Red Cross Store) and the ever continuing wars (Devil's Run). He takes advantage of others suffering to meet his own ends. The man is certainly surrounded by the misery of his own psyche.

i donn't want to presume that you are the one 'surrounded by the misery ' of your own psyche, but i think you are mistaken if you think that an artist has no place commenting on tragic events. it suggests that you don't know much about the history of art or at least, rock and roll music. i guess you could say the same of dylan, lennon, neil young, you name it, anybody with anything at all to say. some of us are comforted by hearing a great, familiar voice actually say something!!

You're right tedquinn. Any artist has the right to react to and comment on events. It's not just rock music, either. Picasso painted Guernica as a response to the bombing of civilians in 1937.

The death toll in Gaza currently is claimed to be over 1000, over a quarter of them children. Even if it turned out to be less than this, and I hope it does, any normal person would be saddened by this to say the least.
