Oh hello! Have you heard about - fast abs magic (search on google)? Ive heard some super things about it and my cooworker got beautiful 6 pack abs and lost a ton of belly fat with it.
Im 5'10" 188, 21 years old, I play defensive back mainly strong safety. I run a 4.46 in the 40 but I would love to get a little faster like around a 4.3... I bench 325, Squat 540 and deadlift 605. I have the strength but I just cant seem to get any faster. Any advice would be obtained as great graditude.
i am a WR 6'1, around 145 but its getting higher. im a soon to be sophmore
im not extremeley quick but my "top speed" is pretty ridiculous.
other than the basic lifting, can you give me some exercises to do that will improve my weight strength and all that. i dont need ant tips on my hands there prety damn good
hey im a nosetackle and i was wondering because i cant find any good videos anywhere about d lineman agility work if you could help me out out of all the guys i've seen you seem to do it the best
hey what are some main things for a kid to do at age 13(me) to get faster. i'm doing sprints, bleachers, and sprinting with a tire attached by a harness to me. i am trying out for linebacker next year in football so any tips on that or the speed question can help.
ladder drills (in the sand if possible) weight training on the thighs (this is where explosiveness comes from) jump rope helps, glute machine, stair jumps, squats (low weight high reps since you're young) but if you're playing linebacker nothing is more important than tackling skills, any good technique form tackling drill is good, bite the ball wrap up start low explode up, lawnmower rips with dumbbells will help you strip the ball
Im 16 years old im 5'7 148lbs, i play CB often and i would say i run close to a 4.5, i have good top speed but my acceration isnt where i want it to be and my hands are pretty quick, would a speed bag help in getting ur hands quicker for jamming? and wat drills can i do to get faster. thx
Niether plyometrics or stretching will stunt your growth... Plyometrics are great for getting more explosive in your change of direction, and overall speed. Stretching is key to achieving flexibility needed to get faster, and to expand on your movement capabilities. Too much stretching is NOT GOOD for anybody, at any age. Stretching weakens the muscle increasing chances for injury in the over stretched area. Hope this Helps...
Thanks. Other vids got too much instructionals, which wastes time and we tend to lose interest. Your's is all action, with some words on overlay. VERY GOOD.
Whats your height, weight, age? How would you rate your speed and quickness? How are your hands? As a receiver you should catch 100 balls a day when training. Switch positions, jog around a lil bit, stand still etc... As long as your catching somehow. Great hands are a must, and a QB's best friend!
All-time leading receiver in Monmouth football history with 115 catches for 2,309 yards and 25 touchdowns at time of graduation in 1997. Was an all North Eastern Conference selection three years in a row from 1995-1997. Was a Division I-AA All-American in 1996 and 1997 in addition to being named team MVP in 1996. Averaged 36.7 yards per kickoff return as a junior, which placed him second in the nation behind only NFL Star Randy Moss. u r good
@GreyNation2008 ok im 5'11 142 i just turn 15 and im a freshman in high school and i run a 4.5-4.6 im training to be the best reciever ever in the NFL but what drills can i do to inprove my hands or improve my speed
40yd dash: this is a heavy technique/mechanics based sprint primarily because its over before you know it. So technique/mechanics is everything. I'll be posting a vid soon. But real quick, find a comfort zone with your stance and start. Stay low coming out for the first 15 yds if possible. Practice just sitting in your start position for 30-60sec at a time. This will increase your strength comin out. your start is everything! a bad start can easily cost you 2 to 3 hundredths of a sec.
Again Im not sure of your experience level with the 40 but that was just a simple quick tip list. But my vid on the 40 will soon follow, Thx for the question!
Hands: First I'd strengthen my hands. i.e. push-ups on your finger tips, and have catch with a 5lb football medicine ball if you can get one, or purchase one. careful not to throw the med ball too much, could do damage to your shoulder. but catching will help strengthen the wide ranging muscle groups that support the catching motion.
Hand/eye cord: For this I'd have catch with a ball substantially smaller than the official size ball you play games with. It forces you to focus a little more.
Hands cont': and dont just have catch standing still. Move around, or even run routes if u want. This extra focus will ofcourse become habitual. And its always a good habit to see the ball into your hands.
So puttin it all together, we strengthen our hands, and improve our hand eye coordination. And last but certainly not least, we catch, catch, catch and then catch some more. practice at a disadvantage. have catch in low lighted areas ;-) sounds crazy but it works.
Surgical tubing:Tie or secure one end of the tubing to a stationary or immovable object at shoulder height. Gripping the other end, turn and throw variations of a str8 jab for 30 second clips on air. Do this with both intensity and attention to detail and it should serve as a mainstay to your (hand) speed regiment. Strengthening the muscles that 'support' the punching motion is also something I'd recommend. i.e. abs, obliques, shoulders, back, traps, deltoids.
