I used it for LFE, because LFE doesn't need that "clear" sound, only the low thump. This ones gives clear upper bass for the main channel. Anyhow, now the reason is that I have made myself a chipamp for computer, which doesn't have controllable rca output and it needs to use speaker cables which BK doesn't have. So, BK for LFE and movies on living room, Audio Pro for computer setup. :)
looks like a peerless xls 10 inch in a box?! :x got a really good 10 inch myself =) like the subs.... 200W RMS is much for a dezent and good home hifi sub =)
@OjStudios nice! :) my sub is working at a 140W amp ... =D but my main speakers are little (3inch x'D), so it doesnt really matter, a bigger amp for sub is overkill ;D
@OjStudios jeah, but only when the amp starts to clip... and bevor my amp starts to clip my main speakers are allready fried :D 3 inch visaton FRS8 in the mainspeaker.... goes down to about 70hz in room... :X they will break first x'D
Yea, it's awesome sub for music and movies too. For big room on movies big bangs sound gets a bit compressed because it's enclosed box. Monolith is better for movies on that behalf. Anyhow, it integrates nicely with almost any speaker. My main speakers go only down to 60hz and I've tuned this over my main ones like it should, at 80hz and it sound very open and powerful. Not all that pounding and mumbling at high hz like cheap ones do.
you have convinced me I am going to get one soon. Now I just have to decide whether to get a DF or a FF. I have small children and I have a solid floor in the lounge so perhaps a DF would be a better option.
You should really buy this subwoofer, it's awesome. Much better than many others in this price range. All the higher bass notes are now clear and more robust. Lower notes go very deep and are very powerful and clear. My last sub, Audio Pro Basiq was lacking all of these things, it just mumbled.
Bah.. peerless can take 300W continuous and amplifier has 275W's, that's for sure. Sure those car speakers can take power but what feeds them? I've seen the measurements, I've heard and tested them myself. In car amps it can say 500W but in reality it's like 30W.
But it's the truth that you can't get the same amount of power from one 12V battery than from 120V-230V electric grid with almost unlimited amps, depending on the fuse.
So, this sub produce 175W RMS MAX, and 275W RMS that customer say to you - it's maybe power of the amplifier inside this sub, but not driver. And real 175 anyway.
Power of the amp is 275W. And can handle 300W. It doesn't matter what it produces. It still beats car subs in home use. Next step for me may be rythmik audio sub.
Täydellisesti 0% helläsäröäkin, testasin tyttöystävällä sen asian jo. Kelpuutti loistavasti tän pikkulaatikon vaikkei vaaleanpuun ystävä olekkaan. Ei tule riitaa sisustuksessa sitten.
@JillBattleSlut
Yea, cheapie mic. Didn't have a better camera at my disposal. :)
It really hits lows with real authority and deepness.

Was the Audio Pro Soniq actually louder, or why do you use it for LFE?

@Rjc0880
Oh.. At their site it's: £314.95
You can change that to your own current if it aint.. Something around 350 to 500€ depending on the place of purchase.

sent mine back wasnt that impressed, money better spent on a good set of floorstanders or a bigger sub. great video though.
soundmusiclover 10 months ago
@soundmusiclover
It's about what you need. If you want floorstanders you better make the price twice or quadrubled to get really GOOD performance.

Hey buddy, its been a long time :) nice subwoofer. Peerless XLS is good stuff!
By the way, at 3:29, is that from Don Dorsey's BachBusters CD? I got that disc and its definitely some decent lows and its quite dynamic.

@svtcontour
Yea, sure it's been a while! Yea, this sub is awesome. Nope it's not from that CD, it's from TELARC Sampler Vol 1

i would love to own a sub like this. I'm guessing its good with movies as well as music.
I'm just unsure of the speakers i would need to do justice to the sub, any suggestions?
love how its sliding away.

Maybe DF is good enough. I would like FF because floor still gives it's "own sound" or colouring.

Watch my other videos so you can see them too. Sony SS-MB250H. Very nice, rich tone and neutral sounding speakers.
And yes, that sub is angry little thing. Not so light though, ~20kg.

I recently bought my first hi-fi set (2 fronts and an amp) and i'm looking to buy this sub, what did it do for you in your system? thanks :)
rymboy 2 years ago

OjStudios 2 years ago
It has 175W RMS tested on pink noise and this is not REAL POWER, it's a musik power.
My JBL W15gti has REAL 200W and your - above 30. Real must be measured with sine wave.
bobkamikaze 2 years ago
Bah.. peerless can take 300W continuous and amplifier has 275W's, that's for sure. Sure those car speakers can take power but what feeds them? I've seen the measurements, I've heard and tested them myself. In car amps it can say 500W but in reality it's like 30W.
OjStudios 2 years ago
But they not lie, it's 500w RMS with 10% THD, so it's ok. :)
bobkamikaze 2 years ago
Not really hi-fi with that kind of thd :D
But it's the truth that you can't get the same amount of power from one 12V battery than from 120V-230V electric grid with almost unlimited amps, depending on the fuse.
OjStudios 2 years ago
12V transformed to +-35V for example, and 230V transformed to same +-35V. The difference in A(amper), that amplifier "eat".
bobkamikaze 2 years ago
Yes, I know that. Depends on the amp but that's pretty standard.
OjStudios 2 years ago
So, this sub produce 175W RMS MAX, and 275W RMS that customer say to you - it's maybe power of the amplifier inside this sub, but not driver. And real 175 anyway.

OjStudios 2 years ago
Whatever: home or car. Try sub 15" or 18" and this will be "end" )))))
bobkamikaze 2 years ago
Why the hell I would need subwoofer that big? I don't live in a barn. If I'd want to make it end, I'd buy Velodyne Signature 1812.
OjStudios 2 years ago
I mean, that bigger diameter of the driver produce more deeper bass, and I don't care for power.
bobkamikaze 2 years ago
I care for accurate and real sound.
