I hate people who drive with one hand at 12 o'clock and the other on the shifter. Car is badass though, I remember seeing it in person at caffeine and octane.
Quick question about the airbox tho.. what channels all the air into the airbox. It seems like it just has a big opening, but no direct connection to the outside air... it just seems to sit open behind the headlight.
What channels all the outside air into the airbox?
I’m happy with my 94 325i, but the only performance mods are sport suspension and the Signature Motoring performance intake for about $150. Signature Motoring kit adds around 9HP on the dyno, great sound, and the best performance upgrade for the money. See my channel videos!
-Adds 9-11 HP
-Never replace filter again (uses K&N filter)
-GREAT SOUND
-Installs in maybe 30-45 min. K&N filter lasts a lifetime.
I have many questions on the CSL intake as i am about to purchase one from VAC. how did you acquire the alpha N software? did it come in your kit? how was it uploaded ? was there anything that you had to buy in addition to the bimmerworld kit to make it work?
Performance E36ers can start with a Signature Motoring performance intake kit. It can add up to 11HP for only about $150 and installs in 30-45 minutes - really a must for every E36 owner. It also makes the car HOWL at high end but sounds normal at everyday driving. See my videos!
do you have electrical problem with the s54 swap?Reading on the net i found enough S54 swaps but the majority has problem's with the radio, airbags etc.
@sky17gr - Of course. Traded out the instrument cluster for the euro version so the revs would read high enough. The only electronics that don't work is the trip computer down by the shifter. Head unit is aftermarket, airbags are fine. It's a standalone ECU so the original stuff is still in there for basic electronics.
@dgw787 Thanx for the quick answer mate. The cluster is from E36 or E46?As for the trip computer i don't have and i'm thinking seriously for a S54 swap. Which head unit did you use?
@sky17gr If you have an S54 in your E36, who the F cares about a radio and airbags? Plus they aren't affected. What does a radio and airbags have to do with the drivetrain? They make plug and play wiring kits, but they are spendy.
@merell900 The CSL airbox is from the bimmerworld online store. Unfortunately it is not cheap. They have three versions. This one is a reproduction of the CSL intake, and it is the "motorsport" version.
@silverstreak328 Technica Motorsports in Cumming, Ga is in the final stages of developing this as a kit which will be available to anyone. It is a DTA S100 Pro standalone ECU with an Alpha-N tune. The setup is great. Currently this car has a 3.23 diff which is way too wide. We have a 3.91 diff on the way.
I like. :) Nice job.

@dgw787 was the swap hard like is it a type of thing that can be done in a garage/driveway or is it better to have a shop do it?

This car is EPIC, I have a 05 M3 I can't imagine the S54 with the lighter E36 chassis. How did you manage to integrate the E46 harness into the E36??
