  • you took it and made it not bad thank you!!

  • Adios.. amigos ...

  • What a great, solid live performance by a great band. Thanks! It's nice to see musicians actually give their best to a live concert performance, instead of phoning it in.

  • First off, I'm totally stoked to get the skinny on just when DeAlbuquerqe exited and Groucutt took his place. I knew it was sometime in '74 when the change took place. Either way, we know it was a blessing for sure when Groucutt came in. However, it's just freekin' WEIRD to see this early footage of him without the perm or overgrown handlebar 'stache that has become such an unofficial trademark in the minds of us ELO fans worldwide. Otherwise, Great performance!

  • Kelly and also Mike Edwards on the same bill outstanding RIP to both of them.

  • Mike plays bass on the album and then left AFTER!!!!!!

    Do your research people!

  • omg... that phrase "what can you do when your dream world is gone and your friends and lovers too..." makes my cry...

  • Man, I don't think I ever heard this. I'll have to check out all the Eldorado songs. Thanks for posting.

  • This IS Kelly, I'm 100% sure.

  • Great stuff.

  • Is that Kelly or Mike on bass?

  • @BuzzyLox Kelly. He's the only one in ELO that can out-sing Jeff.

  • Many thanks! Brings up strong nice memories.

  • Where, how did Jeff learn to pronounce 'amego'

  • Jeff's hair.

  • Much better audio quality than the version I found first.

BTW, the emcee has the excitement and charisma level of a dead bug.

  • LOL ... Yeah, the Emcee gives me the "creeps" too

  • best ELO song

  • Brilliant video and excellent sound quality - thank you! ELO are just the besssst!

  • If you´ve ever played a guitar yourself, you´ll know just how unusual these chord changes are. Really amazing, indeed.

  • Electric Light Orchestra's El Dorado album is 4 stars as excellent album upon The Rolling Stones Record Guide 1979-1983 edition."face the Music" and "A New World Record are 3 stars as good albums and the "Out Of The Blue" double album as "Discovery" and "time" are just 2 stars as Mediocre (upon that magazin ratings average). I personally love all Elo albums but i just wanna let you know those things above.

  • Despite Rolling Stones opinion I think every ELO album deserves 5 stars (brilliant) and Jeff Lynne is the greatest, most talented song writer in popular music history.

  • @elofan67 Rolling Stone is not Jesus Christ, though Jann Wenner thinks it (he) is. When a magazine puts Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga and other non-rock acts on the cover, and they continue to slag heavy metal (unless it's Metalllica) and prog (unless it's Genesis), then they are not a real rock and roll magazine. I've said it before, the only great thing or person to come out of Rolling Stone was Hunter S. Thompson and Ralph Steadman. After Thompson offed himself, RS lost any street cred it had

  • One of the things I love about this song is that it squashes that stupid myth that ELO were just a 2nd rate Beatles" I think Jeff refeerences the Beatles enough for us to know he was a big fan, and I think some occasional songs sound Beatlesesque but they were their own band, and often sound at their best when doing their blues and rock and roll roots.

  • Great Work - you are fantastic :-)

Thank´s a lot for this amazing Video!

    Greetings from Germany

    Betty

  • mike finished the album , both mikes left the band at the completion of eldorado , one do to religious reason , one for family issues , both are credited on the album . this was the first performance for this album live . kelly had just came in to the band actually messes the bass line up on cant get it out of my head from this same performance . great stuff though

  • i stand corrected mike edwards on cello styed till the begining of face the music , then left for religious reasons. replaced by melvin gayle.

  • Thank you. :)

This song stirred my inside when i was a teen.

And still does 35 some years later.

  • I'm only 22--I first heard this when I was about 10 or so after my dad bought the album on CD. Always been one of my favorite ELO songs.

  • Mike De Albuquerque finished the recording of eldorado left at the end so did mike edwards the cello player , one left for family reasons one for religious reasons , both where asked to stay niether where fired , kelly joined at the begining of the tour , this is one of the first shows for the album , kelly messes up the bass line for cant get it out of my head from the samr show . thats how new he was.

  • great work. much appreciated.

  • good job mate, thats an awsome hour I just spent listening to your efforts. Thanks. azerty go deal with yourself!

  • Believe it or not we should all thank elodevi for the original video and alternate audio as well. I just put them together to get a better video. So take it easy on AZERTYoscar. He was just concerned that I was encroaching on our friend elodevi efforts and his uploads. No offense or encroachment was meant. I have discovered that some of the videos I have uploaded are being shared on P2P networks. So the video I downloaded was elodevi's upload!

  • Are you sure that this show is in 1974 ?

Kelly Groucutt plays bass. They played a lot of Eldorado stuff until Face the Music was released.

  • Mike De Albuquerque left ELO before the completion of the album Eldorado in 1974 and replaced by Kelly Groucutt in 1974 at the start of the Eldorado Tour. They played Eldorado stuff during from 1974 to 1978. The Out Blue tour featured tracks from Eldorado. The concert video is actually missing 45 mins of concert footage. The concert was edited to fit an TV hour time slot. I have bootlegs from the Out Of The Blue Tour to prove it.

  • @movejefflynnelo

He might have been gone, but am I mistaken, but wasn't DeAlberquerque in the group pic on the inner sleeve of the Eldorado album? Or was that on the US United Artists pressing only as they could have just used a photo that was convenient to them.

  • he was saying he put music from a different source over the video... so its no kelly, it's michael de albuquerque (i think) but its kellys voice.

  • The audio was from a higher quality recording from the same performance. Mike De Albuquerque left before the Eldorado album was even finished. Kelly is singing alongside Jeff Lynne on this one.

  • @movejefflynnelo Your absolutely right! I could pick out that voice anywhere! Aint no micheal in there!

  • @jeflynnenut Besides the obvious fact, that Kelly Groucutt was born MICHAEL Groucutt ;-) but obviously, you're right. Kelly had a rather distinctive voice...

  • Rest in peace Kelly G.

    Legend.

  • It's not your video...It's the video of elodevi...

  • I don't claim ownership of this or any video I upload. The source audio was from a different source than the video's audio. The video I got was from P2P network and the audio was from an ELO fan site. All of these videos on You Tube actually belong to the original broadcast company and not any of us uploaders. I consider elodevi a friend and at no time do I want to infringe on any of his or fellow ELO fans uploads. i want ELO fans to have access to the highest audio and video quality available.

  • what fansite is the audio from? send me the link in a private message please

  • The sound kicks ass! Thanks for the effort!
