They're banned on all fields due to the fact that people have been dazed when hit in the head (myself included), and some people have even received fractured fingers from being hit. They're sort of a joke in the industry. I'm sure a metal BB could go through in all reality though.

@LiNaK37 the difference is 1.5mm and build material, other than that, they are both technically bb's. that said, the one in this video is likely of the 4.5mm metal variety (an airsoft round would have made a larger hole and been slowed down enough to see it, the smaller metal round has better penetration, and sails right though)
