I want to get this to try out having a blackberry. I heard it has no sim card, what does that do and does it need one? or a memory card is enough? thanks
I have this 8530 from Boost Mobile & they are owned by Sprint. Mine runs on Sprint's CDMA network. Fast 3G web, text & email is fast, youtube with no problem. WiFi is great.$60 a month unlimited talk, text, web, email 411 & IM.

Also for Boost Mobile as well. I got mine on Boost with unlimited everything and much like Sony's PS3, it...only does everything...well, minus the flash on the camera. But that's a minor setback if you ask me for all the other neat awesome things this phone can do, especially on Boost's unlimited plan for only 60 bucks a month. Unlimited email, talk, text, internet, messenger, etc. This is def. a great phone for a tech-geek looking for a non-touch phone that does...pretty much, everything.
@nawfside56 yes. most smartphones kinda revolve around their internat/ data capabilities so its worth it... get the cheapest one and just conserve... only use internet when u need it and when at home use wifi or ur computer...
I have a 8350ivfor sprint and i love it but the internet sucks without wifi, and i was wondering how is the browser without wifi? is it still fast or slow?
You sound like you're in love. I just got one yesterday...I'm about to throw it out the fucking window. Nothing on here seems to work the way it should work.
so is the internet free if you have wifi? Does the camera have flash btw. I was just wondering. My mom wants my phone so im getting a new one and its between the curve nd the blackberry bold.? im still deciding.
Does preinstalled browser on this supports youtube playback? I heard some opinions that it doesn't. Maybe you can recommend different one? Is there any different browser for BlackBerry 8520?
Verizon is shitty, they are not very reliable when it comes to service (personal experience) im switching to sprint in a couple of wks. and am gonna get this phone!
@steezygreasybacon the best is koodomobile becayse it has the cheapest plans for unlimited texts and 100minutes of phoning with 100mb of data is 35$ a month
@steezygreasybacon if your thinking of sprint, and want a cheaper phone you can get the same one from virgin mobile for only 25$ a month for unlimited messaging, internet, and 300 minutes.
@AlskaNoelle Not at all, Epically compared to the old one. It is shaped to fit your hand also buttons are slightly curved for your fingers... im a texter too =)
how is the battery life? do you think you would have to charge it every night for someone that averages 200-300 text a day and 30-60minutes of web surfing?
I do about the same and it doesent need to be charged every day, maybe every other. It has a great new kind of battery that the older curves dont have.
can you download blackberry apps on this one?
