Empress Elisabeth of Austria gave her opinion of "Alex": she thought Alexandra was the most best dressed woman in Europe. seeing her pictures I agree: It's a pity that Alexandra was not very emancipated: she did n't oppose to her husband's escapades.
Your video displays ridiculously difficult to read content; your introductory speech should expound earlier upon the reasons for your breakthrough news.
That said, it appears, too, that you, Stanford's Professor Knight et al may well have missed the mark entirely -- which, paradoxically, might, surprisingly, prove a boon for resurrection of eg. Anna Anderson's claim -- mainly ... CHIMERA; covering eg.Grand Duchess Elizabeth or Alexandra having more than two DNA profiles between et al: Get it!
Interesting that in far-flung regions of the old Empire, Queen Alexandra's name pops up. Here in Victoria, British Columbia, we have a QA hospital originally built in 1926 - date being coincidental with QA's death in 1925.
I would love to see the BBC do a proper miniseries about this extraordinary woman. She fascinates me. She came over from Denmark so young, and had Queen Victoria watching every step she made, and still, never faltered or entertained a breath of scandal (she left that to her husband). I can't imagine why there hasn't been any specials done about her yet (and if there has been, and simply don't know about it - I'm an American, after all! - somebody PLEASE let me know?)
After Edward VII's passing, she was quoted as saying, "I was the one he loved the best", responding to the fact that he had an assortment of mistresses during their marriage.
Queen Alexandra is my favorite. The difference between Alexandra and Princess Diana was that Alexandra was loved by everyone (including the royal family). Don't get me wrong. I did like Diana but Alexandra had something special. Edward VII is my favorite king because he was friends with everyone in Europe (except for maybe his nephew in Germany).
A beautiful and stylish Princess of Wales,, not very well educated, kind and generous , fond of kids and animals, devoted to charitable works, and cheated on by her husband. Sound familiar?
She was by all accounts a fun loving Mother and a kind lady.
Apparently, when she arrived from Denmark she was alone - literally.
She wasnt allowed to bring any Danish maids or servants because Queen Victoria didnt want her conversing with her servants in her native language and not knowing what they may have been talking about!
The subtitle at 3,04 is incorrect. On Edwards accession she became Queen Consort. Queen Dowager is the title given to the widow of a deceased King. It distinguished her then from the actual Queen Consort of the following reign. Queen Alexandra was later Queen Dowager while Mary was Queen Consort. Queen Elizabeth (widow of George VI) was also Queen Dowager but did not like the title as she considered it old fashioned and depressing and preferred the titlee of Queen Mother.
The armoured squadron (Queen Alexandra's 2nd Wellington and West Coast) I served in is named after her. In memory of her death our badges were blackened and remain so to this day. It is also the most senior unit of the NZ Army.

I always wonder what would have been different if Albert Victor Christian Edward, the (eldest) son who died in 1892 had become King Edward VIII instead. I just think about things this way.
"not so waelthy noble family" i'm sorry but yo´'re wrong, Alexandra was the daughter of king Christian, king of Denmark, and they were very wealthy and her sister became empress of russia and her brother king of greece, i should because i'm danish
He became king only after she became the Princess of Wales. During much of her and her siblings' childhoods, the future Christian IX wasn't even heir to the throne. They were quite poor by royal standards at that time.
Also, she did not become "Dowager Queen" when Queen Victoria died; she became Queen Consort. She became Dowager Queen (or Queen Mother) when her husband died.
Then it is a great shame you are unfamiliar with your own country's history.
Pcs Alexandra was born the daughter of Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glucksberg a distant relative of Danish reigning house. He and his family lived on a very small allowance and in the smallish Yellow House near the Amalienborg. Fredrick VII died childless and Christian was elected heir to the throne by the London Protocol of 1852. It is well known that the princesses made their own dresses.
A lovely, overly-generous woman- Edward VIII said of her that all begging letters were answered with a cheque- she never enquired whether the requests were genuine or not.. A rare Royal!
I know it's strange, but I've always thought that Queen Alexandra looked a bit like Princess Diana. The hair is completely different, but the face is similar.
I beg to disagree on that since Queen Elizabeth II is definitely a real lady and a person that is worthy of respect. I can't say the same for Diana, Princess of Wales, Sarah, Duchess of York and Princess Michael of Kent though.
We must agree to disagree. I find HM very sour with little or no personality, and no emotion or empathy with anyone. Have you read "The Royals" by Kitty Kelley?. I believe this books tells it exactly like it is.
I read the book "The Royals" by Kitty Kelley. In fact, I have the book right next to me. I shall have to disagree with you on the fact that this book happens to "tell it exactly like it is". This is owing to the fact that most journalists criticize Kelley's work for being "Kitty litter". I don't think Kelley is a reliable source since the content of most of her books happen to be questionable.
I haven't based my opinion on a book alone; but from my observations of her demeanor and knowledge of being an English person. I am referring to one woman, not the whole Royal Family. Wikkipaedia states (inter alia) that "Although Kelley has been criticized and her books hotly debated, she has never been successfully sued for libel and has never been forced to retract a written statement".
Whatever the "truth" my opinion is my own and I don't expect everyone to concur with it.
I respect your opinion. However, I still believe that HM's demeanour stems from the fact that she cannot be biased towards people because she is the queen. She could not also take a side on a certain issue because as a constitutional monarch she has to be fair. Furthermore, what kind of mother-in-law would not go sour with Diana's constant flings and direct criticisms against her as well as Sarah Ferguson's neverending humiliating exploits.
I think Edward did love her. I believe he married her for love, and not merely for politics as was expected.
He managed to convince his mother, The Queen, that he should marry Alix, even though Victoria was not entireley convinced and did not approve of the antics of the Danish royal family.
She was Denmarks's King Christian IX's (d. 1906) daughter, and therefore Princess of Denmark. Christian was famously succesful in positioning his children: one became King of Greece, one daughter queen of England, another one Empress of Russia. And one, of course, inherited the crown of Denmark. Their family gatherings were pretty VVIP affairs.
When Queen Victoria died, Alexandra became Queen Consort, her husband King. A dowager denotes widow of. The present British monarch's mother chose to style herself as Queen Elizabeth, Queen mother rather than Dowarger Queen Elizabeth.
Thanks for creating this little slice of history!!

I think Alexandra the Princess takes after her mother Marina's side of the family, but Princess Margaret did sort of resemble her great-granny.
