@masteretl That'll be your point of view until you realize pop singers/musicians are artists as well, who create for a purpose that's very equal to any artist's, no matter whether that's spreading emotion, amusing, etc... It's not because they write songs in a medium that's popular it's kitsch. Artists like Katy Perry or Lady Gaga do write their music themselves, spreading a message that comes from their heart - and that's what art's about. It is you, mister, that's being ignorant.
