I'm glad the bride-to-be is always having such a good time, but I do not want to dance with her. I'm sorry that she thinks gay men all want to be her friend, because we don't. The "dancing with sad, overwheight, straight women" portion of my life is donezo and I don't know you or your husband. So can you please stop grinding up on me on the dancefloor like we're old friends? Cuz we ain't.
IN-FuCKInG-CREDIBLE!!! You have NO idea how much ALL of the drag queens I know in this industry say ALL of these things backstage during shows ALL the time. Very well said! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this. I've had this experience way too many times. I ALWAYS say something to the "bachelorette" who is invariably clueless, drunk, and pissed at me for "ruining her good time." To me, this is like, in the 1950s, white people going to the back of the bus and wanting to party with blacks about how awesome the good seats are in front.
you win :) but i do have 1 question: i am a bisexual man, (i'll probably marry a man.. but there's always a chance it will be a girl, we'll see..) but would u let me have a bachelor party at the gay bar? :) please reply, i wonder how u think about it
No one (gay, straight or green) has the right to be married. It is a sham created by the government to have a hand in peoples' personal rights & finances. Wake up folks and do not be sheep. Marriage gives the government a hand in violating your privacy and to divvy up your life earnings to lawyers and an EX that you can no longer stand.
Awesome video! I couldn't stop laughing and agreeing! It is in such bad taste to have a bachelorette party in a gay bar!
A male leather bar in my town was successfully sued for denying entry to this girl who simply "wanted to see what it's like in there" to which I say: "it's the SAME as any other bar except it's all men into men!
Annoying str8 girls is just the beginning. Once str8 men find out about these bars where str8 girls are letting their guard down while they get drunk we will loose everything that makes gay bars a safe place for us.
This is why I'm still so upset that Seattle gay bars, like The Cuff, can no longer play hardcore porn in all the TV monitors.
The whole point of the porn was to make str8 people really fucking uncomfortable. Now bars like R-Place have to put up like 20 giant signs saying "GAY BAR"
Oh, I forgot to ask; will you marry me? And we can have our bachelorette parties at RPlace and wear big penis hats and...oh, nevermind, we can't be married.
A fine rant. You made many very good points but most of all I loved your characterizations. Maybe you could have bought her a cheap red wine and "accidently" spilled in on her....Just a thought.
What better way to spend your last days as a single woman than to stumble around the dirty row of clubs in your too-high heels, a giant penis hat and vomit running down your chin? It's what we call classy at its very best. This phenomena annoys me more than most things. I have to say though, if marriage was equal for everyone, would we still want these morons in our bars?
Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap! I'm a straight guy, down here in So. Cal., who's never set foot in a gay bar, but even I can see, from here, that you're absolutely right about what happened in that gay bar, in Seattle! As a Chicano, I recognize the same, insensitive attitude of entitlement in those straight women, as I often see in white people who take their social status for granted.
turpie68: exactly! It's taking their social status for granted. While I cannot speak for what it is like to be a person of color, as a minority of a minority in a minority it's not exactly a walk in the park. Not that I would want to be a member of the majority, however. But some do not appreciate what they have until they are reminded by those who do not have access to the same rights and priveledge.
I am a part fo the LGBT community, which is the first minority. Of that minority there are fewer lesbians than gay men, the second minority. Then finally I am femme and there are fewer femmes than butch women, at least in the US, thus the last minority.
It's weird how just because some chick is getting married she automatically assumes everyone will kiss her ass. I've seen it all the time. It is even more obnoxious when they wear those glittery t-shirts that say "Bride to be". Freaking attention whores. GREAT VIDEO, your vents are my favorites!
jasonlittlewolf: I'm not sure what you're implying. We have mixed bars that are cool where everyone can hang out and not worry about being labeled and whatnot. In the case that I describe in the video the mix is not always so welcome.
I'm hearing everything you say girl, you make sense, I hate when I go out with my gay friends and the bars are filled with idiots in pink fluffy cowboy hats and 'L' plates.
Worst is my favourite bar which does drag shows has become a hotspot for bachelorette parties who come and glare like it's some kind of freak show
Now I can be superficial for one moment, your bangs look rad.
Maddoxhardcore: there are many gay bars which are hot spots for these kinds of parties. I find it extremely insensitive. Thanks for the compliment on my bangs. :)
If someone came up to me and said, 'Oh my gawd, why isn't anyone paying attention to me,' I'd probably crack the bitch with a baseball bat. I think she'd understand why afterward.
lol.
I love this video. Your comedy only improves your point more. :D
Bachelorette party girls and potential brides are the most annoying when they celebrate their stagettes. Not all of them are but the select few are annoying and disrespectful to the people around them whether they're gay or straight.
People can be completely insensitive and often just plain stupid! One would think logic would kick in and gay bars would be off the list of appropriate "staggette" locations. Even though I'm trans and identify as heterosexual, they still piss me off a good portion of the time. That said, I also live in Canada, so perhaps it's less inappropriate up here since we all have equal rights (where marriage is concerned...).
This video is so CORRECT! And, guess what I do? I NEVER attend weddings, or give straight people getting married gifts! Hell no, these are the same individuals who vote against us having access to the same rights at the polls. If all the gay people in this country would employ the technique of boycott with one voice...we could bring this discriminatory advocating country to it's proverbial knees in one year.
Well, I'm not gay and those kinds of hetero chicks annoy the hell outta me, too, for all the reasons you stated. Uncouth would be an understatement for some people. Augh.
Wow. Typically I type out my comments in sections AS I watch. But this one... I had to just sit back and enjoy the ride until it was over.
Bravo!
While I'm not entirely sure where I fall on the "stay out of the bars" issue, you plead a beautiful case for it. Everything from insightful, logical, and scathingly funny.
OhCurt: wow cool, thanks. I'm not about segregating the bars but if you are straight and have a huge problem with people thinking you might be gay when you go into a gay bar then keep out. Also bachelorette parties tick me off.
And I get what you mean - there's a difference between saying "stay out permanently, we don't want you here" and "can ya just show a little more sensitivity and respect, please?" I took this as the latter.
Church!
I'm glad the bride-to-be is always having such a good time, but I do not want to dance with her. I'm sorry that she thinks gay men all want to be her friend, because we don't.
