No offense, but this video is wack. That isn't a ghost & that place was NEVER a slaughter house. Gates of Hell is a joke & Gravity Hill is a hack. The county closed the road because too many fools went to Empire Mine Rd. looking for something that wasn't there & pissed off many of the ranchers in the process. I'm surprised you didn't get shot. Too bad the county closed the road though. It was one of the best scenic roads in Contra Costa. Thanks for your wack urban legends guys !!

Leave the ranchers alone. It's a slaughter house and not an old Hospital or Burial ground. If you want spooky, sneak into Black Diamond Mines late on a misty night and go visit Mary at the old Cemetery. These guys get hounded by PETA and other animal loving organizations. Besides, You might stress out the cow I may want to eat. Happy Cows come from California. Stress Cows come from Michigan .

I think it was more likely closed because of property owners in the area complaining of people causing trouble, there was a lot of fires and vandalism and stuff... you can read it on the city council website.

I've lived in Antioch my whole life and can even remember when the "So Called Slaughter House" Was still in operation. Just to clear some things up. It is not a slaughter house. Never was. The cows were slaughtered at another location, and the building was used to store farm equipment. As far as KKK members meeting there, yeah, that's false too. Satanic cult members used to meet out by there at this old barn though. The ghost may be that of a headless body that was found out there in the 80's.

What it actually was was the infra red light that night vision needs in order to function. What could have possibly happened was the troopers could have had the an infra red light (Really REALLY dim red light) to use with their night vision because the uncle and the niece were a bit suspicious looking. That's my hypothesis.
