  • I was so emotional in this episode...until the daleks started talking like that.

  • This is what became of Germany after Hugo Stiglitz died

  • I saw this before watching the actual episode and I thought it was a joke..

  • Daleks seem even more dangerous speaking German XD

  • The Nazis are back, everyone...and they have plungers.

  • I personally found this the funniest moment of the entire season.

  • people are you hating germany or what?

  • It's very nice of the evil aliens monsters bent on destruction of all life everywhere in the universe, anounce your impending death in your own language, very courteous

  • Funny how the Daleks speak German with a British accent. (The supposedly German woman who comes later in the scene also speaks with a really obvious British accent.) And the word exterminieren doesn't exist in German. Oh well ...

  • @LostNorthernLights Indeed. They should be saying AUS-ROT-TEN! AUS-ROT-TEN!

  • what season is this?

  • Technically Martha should hear the Daleks speak English because she's been in the tardis before and the tardis translates everything people say to their native language.

  • @Sploggez Not true. The TARDIS only translates a language when it's present near you. Martha is a good way away from the TARDIS (which Saxon had off with) and so it doesn't translate the language for her.

    (I think :p)

However, German Daleks... just Lol! :p

  • @KaseytheJudge No, if you've entered the tardis and gone to another planet, when someone/something speak in another language you hear it in english (or a language you understand) The tardis doesn't have to be present, the translation has happened in previous episodes (I can't remember what series) They were obviously confused. lol

  • @Sploggez Oh. I didn't know that... it just seems like whenever the TARIS isn't around you can't understand what the aliens are saying.... hmm. Lol

I guess they did forget their own rule there :p

And Exterminarian isn't a word in German because it doesn't derive from Latin like English does... bit of an oversight on the shows part :p

  • *Disengaging Google Translate* *Switching to native language protocols* *Dalek native language initiated*

  • halt! papers please.

  • Geck, das ist nicht lustig! Das ist erschreckend!

  • Ausrotten.

  • The odd thing is that they seem to be wandering in an empty forest just screaming Exterminieren (in angry British accents) to one another. There's presumably no population center next to the super-secret Osterhagen base she's going to and the only German person we even see is the old woman at the base.

  • Just when you thought the Daleks couldn't get more menacing...

  • This is hilarious! There's no such word as "exterminieren"!! In the German dubbing they say "eliminieren". XD

  • There is Now

  • saw this episode online last nite lol. at first i thought they were normal darleks but then i was like wtf german darleks!

  • @bradgbh they're called daleks :)

  • Ha so far I've understood. Stop or you will be exterminated! You are now caught by the Daleks! I've studied German ever since I moved to Switzerland so I know how to translate. That's easy translation.

  • @HeatherGBful but.....who are they talking to? D:

  • xD that´ very very bad translated.

I´m from german the translation of the crap the Daleks shout is:

Exterminate! Stop or you will be exterminated, you are now catched daleks. (Yes it makes no sense)

  • It was great to finally hear Daleks speaking in their native tongue!! ;-)

  • Why when something German comes up some wanker starts going on about Nazi's, shut up you idiots that was years ago, this has no reference to Nazi's its the fucking Daleks, geez

  • @Chauncy666 Actually~

Daleks are based directly off of Nazis

    just a little fact

  • @Chauncy666 Dude. The Daleks are a direct intentional reference to the Nazis. It's an obvious comparison.

  • roflageeee

  • lovveee ittt!!! been looking for this for ages :D

  • I like to see them do it in Japanese

  • imagine a hitler dalek WATCH OUT JEWS!

  • you may as well just put a swatiska on the daleks (jk)

  • 1. The daleks have always been based on the Nazis, (see Genesis of the Daleks).

    2. It's a suitable and as subtle socail revenge for the equally as insubtle as the gas chamber my grandfather died in.

  • @owneddogs66 When the daleks were first thought up in 1963, many people could still remember WW2. If you watch Genisis of the Daleks and watch between the lines, it has a very Nazi like way of thinking. Davros was first thought up as a Hilter figure - a sort of maniac that wants to create one, pure race of people. The Doctor even says later on when he has the chance to destroy the daleks, "If someone pointed out a child... who would be a ruthless dictator... could you then kill that child".

  • @owneddogs66 Well, they were originally meant as Nazi allegories--obsession with racial purity, genocide to rid the world of "inferior" races, high-tech approach to warfare, et cetera. If you go back to some of the classic Who serials, like "Genesis of the Daleks," it's REALLY obvious.

  • no special effects thats just what germany is like all the time

  • I loled so much when I first heard it on T.V :)

  • Somehow Davros has made a translation upgrade.... Awesome! I really like that bit of the episode. Funny thing is: In german TV the Daleks were saying "Eliminieren", which is eliminating I guess. "Exterminieren" is SOOOO much better!!! :D ... And btw it's indeed the correct translation of exterminate. Martha did a great job too! "Ich bin Martha Jones." ^^ Very good work!!!That other "german" woman is having a much bigger accent than her ^^

  • GERMAN daleks... its the hitler dalek!

  • its german. because the daleks shout exterminieren, thats the german word for exterminate

  • No it's not, the German for 'exterminate' is 'vertilgen' (That's the first time the bits of German I learned at school have ever come in handy)

  • lol i like them darlks

  • lol that isn't german for exterminate

  • roflmao! nazi daleks

  • So, if this episode was transmitted in Germany, would the Daleks be speaking English?

Definitely one of the highlights of Journey's End!!!

  • Now the Nazi parallels are really strong!

  • It even takes place 60 miles from Nuremburg.

  • Daleks.....scary as hell

    German Daleks.....*hides under bed*

  • Hey, imagine if there were German Cybermen...

  • I know, it's just a really bizarre sound. Now I just want to hear them speaking French and Chinese...

  • Unintentionally, something that happens to be awesome and funny at the same time.

  • LOL LOL LOL LOL

Halt, Sie sind jetzt alle Gefangene der Dalek xDDDDDDD

    great shot!

  • Exterminieren!

(iirc it translates as: exterminate! exterminate! Stop or you will be exterminated! You are now prisoners of the Daleks!)

  • It's "Exterminieren!" And this was sooo cool! I'm studying languages and I'm living in Germany right now for a few months! :)

  • lol :P

  • I just got to see this part last night, and while it makes sense that the Daleks would speak whatever language it was of the region they were in, this still cracked me up!

  • Coolest daleks ever

  • cool

  • lol
