Nah, Cap had to crash that plane so he could be an Avenger 70 years hence. He was planning ahead, that's all. Give him a medal for having the foresight to want to freeze and take on Loki's army in the 21st century. :P The comic book version was frozen in a similar way, so give Marvel Studios a hand for staying close to the source material. And go easy on Joe Johnston. He did direct The Rocketeer, a movie that took place around the same time as Captain America.
