Problem is, we're not going to figure out what the motive is here behind what he's scheming until SNK allows us to see. To answer Torr3sx1's question, though? Ash is supposedly able to simply reach into his desired target and remove the sacred treasure from them. Iori had the necklace, Chizuru had the mirror, and Kyo, the remaining vessel...owns the sword. That's Ash's final target and God only knows what's going to happen when he collects all three.

Chizuru had her power stolen back in '03, that was the last time SNK played it by the numbers and nowadays they're taking their sweet time with their games, which makes it a bitch because the Ash saga isn't ending with XII, unfortunately, that's next game and who knows when that'll come out. But what's got me amazed is that even in blood riot mode, Ash can supposedly take on Iori with ease ( Iori went nuts and fucked both Kyo and Shingo up back in XII ), and still get away with it. It's crazy.

Well, Ash was probably able to take on Iori in the riot of the blood state because he had Chizuru's Yata Mirror to seal his powers. Unlike what alotta people think, I don't think Ash is absurdly strong, he's just very smart.

Use an unknown ability to get Yata Mirror to seal away Riot of the Blood state and get Magatama which gives the strength to take down Kyo and get his sword. What I wanna know is why his flames are green and look like melted wax. Maybe his flames are tainted by Orochi.

People should just be grateful that NESTS saga characters are in the game. One character that's always on my team since '03 is Ash Crimson. I'm more worried about what will happen to him than anything else. SNK does seems to like him a lot though. So hopefully he can come back in later installments like K' and company.

@Gravelneed the truth was, Kusanagi aren't the mirror creation by Chizuru in the first place..he actually Kyo in the KoF99 until '01, then in the '02 he returned as Kusanagi since the real Kyo appeared.. He actually died either in '02 or '03 then Chizuru revived him back.. when everyone knew who exactly Kusanagi was, what his true intention was, all of them were against him.. just like Ash, at first he kinda look good guy but at the end, everyone wanna stop him..

@zeroskaterz92 wtf? I would really like to know where you are getting this information. The real Kyo has the white jacket during the NESTS saga. Kusanagi is a mirror creation by Chizuru. She was being controlled by Botan in 2003. The only reason Kusanagi was in 2002 was probably because SNK wanted to have a classic Kyo with his old design/moves.

@Gravelneed SNK already confirmed he(Kusanagi) appeared in the KoF'99 as Kyo..even his move kinda differ than Kyo..among of all Kyo's clone, he's the perfect one..the real Kyo returned back after KoF'01 ended..

it's also in the manhwa, altho the story was unofficial but they actually took the summary each of the saga & elaborate it more..you can try check at the official snk website, definitely got information about KoF characters or maybe their own KoF wikia..not the wikipedia..

His evil appearance is due to the fact that he was created by Chizuru while under the control of Mukai. Due to Kyo's design changing, some of the developers desired the return of Kyo's old look. As a result, Kusanagi was added to the cast as a last minute decision in KOF 2002.
