  • It's a good basic base sauce. I've been making it among others for years.

I like diluting it with vinigar & either wiskey or beer & using it as a mop while I grill.

  • @daveh013 I agree. I have to say I just do not buy any of the BBQ sauces (and some are pretty good). I just use the ketchup as a base and work from there. Sometimes with the burbon, whiskey, or beer. Brown sugar, honey, molasses. Variable herbs depending on the meat.

I make my own ketchup at times too, so the sauces can be quite original. Tomato paste is ideal too with perhaps some other liquid (cider, beer, vinegar). Yep, the basic sauce. cheers, KtC

  • I THOUGHT IT WAS SO GAY, BUT AFTER TRING IT, IT WAS AWSOME...THANKS FOR THE GREAT RECIEPT

  • @adanmolinasr It works quite well. I use ketchup in a few quick BBQ sauces. I posted BBQ chicken a couple of months back with a similar sauce as this. Happy you gave it a go! cheers, KtC

  • a jamaican guy made me some bbq chicken last year,it was the best ever ive had, he's doing 9 years Hmp now and didnt show me how to mek it , so im trying them all yum yum happy cooking

  • wow calm down the nearest grocery story can not be that far!

  • damn thats alot of cayenne pepper lol

  • If its not giving you a real bbq taste leave out the mustard, add vinegar, the sauce he made is more of a meatloaf topping.

  • it has a typical store bought BBQ taste. Most ketchup and mustard manufactures make BBQ sauce too. There is vinegar in the ketchup amd mustard. Yes, many variable sauces (some use tomato paste, vinegar, ciders, mustard, ketchup...) and this one 'is' great on meatloaf too. KtC

  • what are the portions to the ingredients

  • would it be ok if i dont use worcestershire sauce because i dont have any =P

  • sure. the recipe is a guidline. More Asian flavour add more soya sauce. More beef sauce add the Worcestershire or steak sauce. The basic is the ketchup, mustard, sugar (sweet, honey is nice) and your choice of seasoning. enjoy! KtC

  • Looks good!! im going to try it!!

i thought you were from canada some of your recipes give it away i little

  • Will fr'sure. Thanks kindly.~

  • Tried with wings, my girl just loved. Thanks.~

  • I love it too :) This type of sauce is the basis of all commercial BBQ sauces (yes, there are exceptions). A 'special/ gourmet' sauce may use a tomato paste, fresh herbs/ spices, perhaps simmer than cool prior to use.

I make it regularly as in the video with some variations to mix up the taste. Try a shot of bourbon in there. Thanks again for the comments, cheers! KtC
