  • Maybe the Chuggers don't have that kind of coupling so they won't come apart when they're pulling a heavy load. Magnets will do that sometimes.

  • this is weird

  • seeing your hands, guess you live in a soap is expensive land

  • Great site, love your reviews. Thomas beats Chuggington by far.

  • Chuggington has medal things on them now.

  • hehe Im a student living by herself

  • frTrtgiokruoyy

  • Keep looking in your charity shop for cool thomas stuff Please

  • have you ever reviewed Thomas take n play and where do you get ha tracks

  • Mabey I Would Have 2 Ideas For You

If You Can Find A 3 Wheel Bogie or Another Gandy Dancer

Could You Convert A Thomas Wooden

And Would It Be Possible To Make A Action Thomas In Dicast

  • so I` m a sweet sesy doll, who is not just all about the looks

  • This is like Cars Diecast Toys :l

  • diss isss soooooooooo slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • dude u r rediculas

  • que tiene que ver chuligton con thomas

  • I'm saying that the people that make those Chuggington die cast R LAZY

  • Chuggington is a ripoff

  • I liked the old Thomas Die-Casts, I've still got loads. Accurate size and colored wheels, robust build, and except for a few rotten ones, the original pin couplings they had worked rather well. Didn't take a lot of force to hook up, and don't come apart like magnets at speed. Axles could sag if you were really rough with em, but that's about it...Also, trackmasters...blast from the past...

  • Why am I watching this :-/

  • @Carred20 i agree

  • The chuggers made 97 accounts to dislike this.

  • Train war

  • I see that you connected Dora and Diego.

    You have lost my respect.

But that little girl is cute =)

  • Like many others, I'm also thinking "How the .... did I get here?".

But you sir, have inspired me. Seeing as my 2 year old nephew LOVES Chuggington and I have an old HO trainset in storage, I may just give this a crack. Even find a working loco and convert it so you can attach/detach the motor so kids can push it without the static wheels or something along those lines..

    Thank you! Great video!!!!

  • Some viscous comments, eh? Great production value here sir; truly well done. Very taught and deliberate pacing in your editing and narration - dry humor included. With a second watch (after forwarding the link to my father who loves and always encouraged me to play with toy trains) I noticed much more how amusing the "blocking" with the train characters became. Bravo!

  • @LawnchairManiac the dry humour is not part of the service, thats just me

  • I am a Thomas fan.

  • qwtaawedrxg

  • I don't understand why people get so upset when they click on a video that doesn't appeal to them. It seems rather self-centered to think that every video posted on the internet is or should be intended for You. Personally, I don't think that it makes you look cool to cuss on the comments section of a video clearly intended for CHILDREN.

Having said that, my son loves to watch these toy reviews. He is too young to really understand the content but I learn by watching with him.

  • Is the large Thoma the Alloy one?

  • 97 men coupling don't work.

  • thomas=original

    cugginton=failed copy

  • why is this crap toy review a viral?

  • @ChaosSolider1 thats a very good question, stick with it and you may learn something..!

  • @leokimvideo I learnt that i watched this when i was young.

    Lol?

  • and thomas has more unique characters.

  • Thomas is better, chuggington ANOTHER FREAKING COPY!

  • They probably lack that coupling because either kids were eating the magnets or they wanted to keep the kids having that one kind of trains and to prevent mixing-matching, a fatal flaw.

  • what's up with these dislikes in this awesome songs in here !!!

  • WTF review!

    Insane

  • thanks again . very detail video . no 1

  • wow, your like, 17 or somthing and you play with stupid toys!?!

  • i cought my little brother watching this, he's only two

and i cant believe im watching this now haha

  • Thomas, and Chuggington are both British television shows.

  • cfhlfgjklvjhlglbhkkj

  • Well I think that the chuggers have different couplers and no name's underneath to be different. And I feel that's better really. If I made a train product I'd want it to be different. Thats probably what Chugginton are doing.

  • @southparkluvva thanks for your point of view

  • ...HOW THE FUCK AM I WATCHING THIS??????

  • @fluffmanz i can't steer you in any other direction than family safe content

that's the way it's all headed now

  • @leokimvideo i got here by backspacing, actually turns out my little brother got on when i was away

  • @fluffmanz leokimvideo says no swearing! i do too!

  • @fluffmanz in it man

  • My son loves this video

  • uhhhhhh........why did u disasemble your dauters toys?????????

  • Anyone notice that Chugginton Diecast has the same track as the TOMY Road?!?!

  • @Arthur12336 yes your right, but calling chuggers system track is a bit of a spin on words

  • At first i thought this was sad, but then I really noticed your passion for this and I got more and more into the video. Thank you !

  • I actually did find a way to get Take-Alongs to run on HO Track... Of course it's not official HO Track, just some Desktop Set that I got a long time ago, but it's simalar in size.

  • my little bro loves thomas

  • my younger brother love i mean very very very love this story

  • If you ask me, the red and blue should come together and make purple.

  • The Giant Take Along Looks Very Similar To Knock off Alloy Thomas toys

Everythings Right, Execpt For One To Two Things Looking Stupid

  • oh no its THOMAS VS CHUGGITON GO THOMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • anybody notice that this has more views than the mad bomber?

  • @turtlesandthomas i did, can you explain why?

this single video has been the MOST popular I have done, does tell me there is a huge undercurrent of Chuggers lovers on the tube?

it's only been up 8 months, it's by far the best performing to date.

  • @leokimvideo remember how you said that brighter colors get more views? the thumbnail thing on this has really bright ones.

  • @turtlesandthomas I think there is something else going on here, what really powers the tube, what's the real driving force which no one speaks about?

    pretty sure I know.

  • @leokimvideo well what is it?

  • @leokimvideo its got more views because its thomas vs. chuggington, probebly

  • @leokimvideo why not make a take along Olwin by a take along Spencer? the tender paint it into grey to be a truck.

  • @turtlesandthomas Thank you for your outstanding video. My wife asked me to look into Chuggington for our little boy. Great comparisons and very well presented. Im sure this will start us down the Chuggington path. Cheers

  • @Irish982 I didn't make this video. leokimvideo did.

  • @Irish982 hi, there is a recient video I did where I had my young boy choose from a set of both Thomas and Chuggers trains, to be honest here I though he seemed more interested in Chuggers going by his reaction to the TV show.

In the test I did he chose the Thomas toys nearly every time, have to say this really surprised me.

As parents tend to choose the toys for young children it showed me often what you think is the best choice may in fact not be the one the child likes the most

  • @turtlesandthomas can you explain why?

  • @leokimvideo I can they want to know where you got the big tank along!

  • lol i dont noe y i am watching this

  • 3o chuggington characters hate this

  • @TheNw1218 Bring on the haters, what they never understand is their efforts help this video along, look at FRED, he's powered by haters.

  • Nothing compares to Thomas Trackmaster!

  • This bloke commentating needs to get himself a life!

  • @nintiwirri yep your correct, he's totally overpaid for such a crappy voice over, any suggestions who I should use, how about FRED

    Maybe you would do?

  • thomas has something that chuggington can never get, realism.

    nuff said

  • what about underground Ernie?

  • there's a fact about Olwin: She's an LNER A4 without tender!!!!

  • Do you think you can convert a chugger's coupling to a thomas take-along coupling?

  • @cattrainboy05 Not exactly sure, the take along magnet is housed in that metal nipple of sorts and it's embedded into the take along design, the chuggers ball and socket run well into the model.

Both methods have advantages and disadvantages, for sheer simplicity I like magnets. Even the LEGO train I have been playing with uses magnets for couplings.

  • @leokimvideo A work around used by railway modellers who face the same issue is to have a transition car that has one type of coupling at one end and the other type of coupling on the other. If done carefully you'd only need to sacrifice one item of rolling stock from each range to get a set of two transition cars.

If you are converting to HO wheel sets however, that might also be the time to install a universal type of coupling.

  • bogey ?

  • I like chuggington, I like how it sometimes has clever lines in it like "I'm such a scatter train" and there such loveable characters and they don't crash in nearly every episode like Thomas do.

but not to say I don't like Thomas.

  • @ShaurntheSheep Chuggington is a clever show, really aimed at a younger age group, you have to wonder if these kids will grow up with the desire for Chuggers over Thomas, the experiment continues!

In my mind the Chugger toys are really well modeled to what you see in the TV series, I think that's super important. I see just too much variation in the way Thomas re-creates it's characters.

  • 17 chuggington characters hate this

  • @TheNw1218 23 Chugginton characters hate this. lol

  • @726berkshire 24 Chugginton characters hate this. lol

  • @PivotSeq looks like 25 now..lol

  • there kids toys n they only going to wrok on the trakes for those toys thats ovb they gota make money somehow

  • @hanii89 yes the whole track thing looks like a money grab, still the wooden Thomas is the one which traverses the biggest variety of track

  • I can see Harrison as a villian in the new Mad bomber episodes. He could be the Mad Bomber. Who Knows?

I also think Puffer Pete and Olwin would be great for the steam engine's side.

  • @trainguy111 Interesting had quite a few people bring up the chuggers character Puffer Pete, nice thought

  • If you compare the old Thomas model videos to the modern computer animated Chuggingtons, the modern cartoons are a lot faster paced and more exciting. However, my son loves them both. I agree with the man who made this video, it's sad that the manufacturer chose to deliberately make the Chuggington toys incompatible. It just makes them less easy to play with, and doesn't keep me from buying less Thomas stuff.

  • @blustn just on the thomas empire, my heart is stuck with the first 3, possibly 5 series, after that it was obvious the whole thing became a money junket, way too many characters to care about and far away from the core concept of the books

it will be interesting to see in time chuggers fall into the same trap

  • Can your make a video of a wheel conversion for take along thomas

  • @jakethedogfil i will look into this request, many tubers do ask this question

  • omg chugings suck un realistick when i grow up my kids will be watching tomas no water what till there 2 or 3 defintly and anyting alse ecsept chugingtin

  • 1:55

One idea that just poped into mind is maybe they are marketing Chuggington toys to be separate than Thomas toys. A kid may be a fan of both Thomas and Chuggington, having the lack of comparability with each other means that you would have to buy more products from the range the toy goes with for larger means of play, rather than being able to use what you already have. Chuggington is a bit of an underdog compared to Thomas after all.

  • Chuggington is rubbish: I'm bringing my kids up on Thomas (the old episodes anyway!)

  • Magnet couplings suck ass. They break apart soo easily when your kid doesn't want them to. Wish to goodness we had Chuggington over here in the U.S.

Thomas is also a F--ing POS as a show. Characters are either cruel, whiny, or both. Plots consist entirely of "so and so is a total a-hole and gets a comeuppance" or "zomg! the infrastructure's FUBAR again"

  • The only thing i like about "Chuggington" is the theme song

  • Thomas is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY Better than Crappington

  • I hate chuggington

  • all the chuggington toys are a fail!

    and so is the show

  • Thomas is better than Crappington, because it is for all ages and "Chuggington" is for babies who don't have brains :P

  • @crazyracer12 if chuggers is for babies then they have the market covered, often the first experience you have with something stays with you

chuggers are aiming for a younger audience, and those kids will be wanting chuggers and not thomas

so many tubers have said to me their first thomas memory comes from a very young age, now watch as the new kids remember chuggers and may not even engage with thomas

  • @crazyracer12 i agree why would you have an ice cream train.

little kids :lets all stand on the rails and wait for the ice cream train.

my basic point is some of the train designs are pathetic .it is totally unrealistic. if you have a train that opens up with rockets at the side then obviously something is going to get damaged. this also includes extra wide rail space.

  • chuggington is better as a show

  • @mikthescared one thing I will say is the chugger toys are very well made, thomas is so keen to be branded on anything which moves

  • coming to us and canda chuggington wooden railway toys

  • thomas WAY better then chuggington by FAR!!!!!!

  • @mmbw4 I HATE CHUGGA

  • Loads of useful detail. I wonder if there's a way to put Thomas Take-A-Long compatible magnets on the Chuggers.

  • @sandywambold That would be a great idea. My daughter would love her Chuggers to join to her Thomas Take Alongs and so would I..!

  • It will take generations to make a real dent in Thomas. My daughter had a battery thomas train on her 1st Birthday just past.

I think the video shows something a bit more serious than many might understand. The consumer is not being giving enough, I thought only the IT industry was capable of this type of behaviour.

Generating frustration in kids is not amusing. Someone should create guidlines for future products to follow.

  • @WebTechGlobal Thats a great comment, I really think the impact Chuggers is having is huge. Just look how popular this video has become, is this the Chugger fans or my good friends the Thomas community?

My kids initially loved the new Chuggers but still go back to Thomas, possibly the Thomas toy sets are slightly better designed.

Thomas had the toy train market all to itself, interesting ex Thomas staffers started Chuggers, they must have known exactly what the next gen wanted.

  • @WebTechGlobal Part 2..

I bet the Thomas writers and toy designers will pull some new modern rolling stock via a modern story. Sort of a future Thomas..

Todays kids will find it difficult to relate to steam, even I never saw a steam engine apart from historical pieces.

Thomas huge trump card was the first few seasons on TV, they are the core stories (many say best) the empire now hangs on.

I can't fault the first three (maybe 5) seasons, every episode is perfect.

  • The reason i prefer Thomas over Chuggington, is simply because i like steam trains over diesels, and i grew up with it. But, i do think Chuggington has got a shot at having a lot of fans in the next few years, good luck to both!

  • i was really sorry for the little girl ;(

    stupid trains wont connect

  • @MoxieChan How about poor dad who has to now make them connect....

  • being born in the 80's i was a huge thomas fan and nowadays it seems the kids like animated trains instead of the old hornby thomas episodes... i have seen some chuggington episodes and there is a certain appeal to young kids but thomas is still by far the best... Hi from the UK :)

  • i think thomas will stay on top, chuggingtion is a little strange 2 me. i mean the engines r kinda wierd and the models r stranger. i heard tat learning curve makes the chuggington toys, so i guess it is liek revange for HIT dumping them on the take alongs

  • chuggington is gay

  • You do impress the Thomas fans with every train related video you make. Cheers!

  • Αρέσει πολύ στον Νίκο-Νεκτάριο

  • kaka

  • chuggington is a bunch of crap

  • great video, you didnt show the chuggington track though!

can take chuggers run on take along track?

  • this was a great video for info purposes thanks very much

i would like to know how the chuggington track is though! Learning curve say the thomas and chuggers dont run on the same track.

  • On HO track: no, no, no.

  • yeah thomas and friends are better they have better roll stock than other trains

  • 0:51 IS THAT AN LNER A4?

  • @TheSI3DRemakist no it has no tender but same design

  • @famaliyof4, NO TENDER? wow they suck!

  • do you think chugginton is trying to take over thomas?

  • thomas is better

  • @mynintendo8 looks like there is a growing number of chuggers fans, give it a few years and I bet Thomas will be given a good run for him money

  • I find it funny that Learning Curve makes many Thomas toys, including

Take Along, as well as Chuggington, but do not fit together.

  • thomas is a pure classic, always had good stories, chuggington is just a bunch or wanna be's that cant write a good five minute story like the orignal thomas episodes could. thomas will prevail! also, i still have all the wooden railway stuff. havent touched it in years.

  • "Chuggingten - Die cast",but i read "Chuggingten - die fast" xD

  • haha pretty funny. i got something amusing here, a bit funny. youtube.com/watch?v=PY9bmpV0lO8

  • Please convert the others and make something like "Chuggington Rolling Stock the Mad Bomber" or I'll send Wilson with and RPG and a ton of gun powder kegs, some rubbing alcohol, TNT, TMNT, and a partridge in a pear tree......Please respond back.

  • Maybe they put ball and socket so it would not fall apart when let down a hill

  • that gave an idea for thomas vs wilson v2

  • Leokimvideo, you are wonderful at making vids, you're my favorite!

  • I dunno if anyone has made this suggestion yet, if so...I didn't go back to see it ^^ so my apologies. It seems the biggest issue between the Die-cast Thomas, "Chuggingtons" (Who I never knew existed till today) and Ertls (Who STILL look the best if you ask me) is the incompatible couplers. Perhaps instead of going to all the work to keep the original couplers during the conversion, you should invest on a standard design for all your conversions. Like a Kadee, or horn Hook, or Magnet?

  • i thought chuggington trains have machine thingies to connect to tools not plastic!anyway, can wilson beat thomas the tank engine in a race? wilsons wheels look more athletic.

  • lol no no no!

  • Interesting comparisons between the engines of Chugginton Die Cast (a lost art in many toylines, sadly) V. Thomas Take Along & Thomas Wooden.

Personally, I prefer the HO/OO Thomas Engines from Bachmann & Hornby, even though they do get expensive if you have to import them from the UK.
