  • This powerful scene makes me particularly pause think and shed a tear for all victims of the Auschwitz camp that died for there beliefs.

  • since this is all imaginary ask yourself whose prison would you rather be in, his or theirs?

  • this is the part of the movie The Occupy Movement doesnt fully grasp.

  • Why does it get me that at 0:33, V mutters "Yeah" instead of "Yes"?

  • @FireofSekhmet Same here my friend..

  • "I can't feel anything anymore" gives me chills.. It's so beautiful.

  • love it.. just love it...

  • I NEED THE NAME OF THE SONG THAT HE PLAYS IN HIS CD PLAYER THE NEXT SCENE

  • @lacrimassprofundere The song is "I Found A Reason" by Cat Power. It's really lovely and fitting for the scene.

  • @lacrimassprofundere Evey Reborn - V for Vendetta OST

  • Its hard to take this scene seriously when V is wearing a smiling mask.

  • My favorite movie scene of all time... Never fails to move me to tears :..)

  • This move "Get's me every time" quote from V and also what I think of this movie<3

    Love V for Vendetta<3

  • chills man, fuckin chills running over my skin. i love this movie

  • This is one of Natalie Portman's shining moments as an actress. The way she cries and just lets herself get drenched in the rain is just breathtaking. This is also one of the reasons she's a talented actress. She doesn't have to be verbal. She uses her facial expressions and body language in this scene.

She's a pretty good actress. Those who says shes not good, Your opinion. But she is good. Not phenomenal, but good.

  • @thelupoistheman1 Yeah... though I think this scene would have been better if she weren't still in that ratty dress.

  • Resistance to Tyranny is Obedience to God

  • There IS NO 'god'! Beeping wake up! You're not a child! You don't need an eternal parent watching over you! You know what's fair and what isn't. Act with fairness and you'll be all right and you'll be helping the world. Please grow up!!

  • i find V rather attractive. Please dont tell me im alone.

  • @xXCstarzXx You are definitely not alone in that ;)

  • is it just me or in the beginning when he says 'hello evey' it doesnt sound like him

  • There's a lift, that will take us to the roof!

  • I think what makes this movie so good is the fact that they really did adapt it to make it a distinctly American story.

Its just acted by British people (mostly).

  • 2:23 - 3:58 oh God... :O

  • 4:05 - 4:10 you can feel the transcendence reverberate through your body.

  • this whole scene gave me chills.

  • What V is doing is classic brainwashing. Evey isn't awakening, she is accepting V's programming.

  • @waltereg0 classic brainwashing is tv and mass media.

  • @waltereg0 I've always found the film's narrative somewhat disjointed and I suspect that this due to the Wachowski's adaptation of the source material.

In the comic Moore leaves the legitimacy of V's actions to the discernment of the reader, whereas the film portrays him as intrinsically heroic.

That and the Wachowski's moderating the issue of V's Anarchism in an explicitly Fascist society.

  • @SentinelConvergence I agree. Moore's whole talent was for creating anti-heroes like V and The Comedian and Rorschach and Veidt who are not necessarily much better than their nemeses. A movie where no one can see that the moral ambiguity of his "hero" is only somewhat less worse than the "bad guys" has failed to capture what makes Moore's works so artistically significant.

  • @waltereg0 I don't think the film really makes V any less of an antihero. I mean, no matter how you look at it, locking someone in a phony government prison and torturing them is a pretty screwed up thing to do. As is blowing shit up. But I think he becomes more sympathetic on screen purely by virtue of being more badass, more eloquent, more composed, and more outwardly reasonable than characters like Sutler or Creedy.

  • @SentinelConvergence It's their interpretation of the source material. It's the same thing they did with Secrum and Simulacra ( The Matrix). It's their style, so your comment makes no sense unless you're just ignorant about that in which case I apologize. Also, they're not making him out to be some corny hero, you have to read between the lines. This scene is beautiful and has nothing to do with him being heroic. If you think so then you've missed the whole point of it.

  • @Tekkenman101 I wasn't suggesting that this scene has much to do with V's status as a heroic freedom fighter/maniacal terrorist, I was talking about the film as a whole. The Wachowski's watering down of V's political philosophy, its manifestation in his 'Propaganda of the deed' and Moore's deliberate moral ambiguity render the narrative as a rather shallow jab at the Neo-cons. The removal of V's 'converstaion' with Lady Justice on the roof of the Old Bailey is one example.

  • 0:45 was never mentioned in the comic, that was just a stab at the terrorist based on the directors interest, and if u dont beleive me then waht the fuck kinda english person is a fucking muslim

  • @0nCh1ng You don't think there are English people who are Muslim? Are you fucking retarded? LOL. Dumb ass, the government in this movie/comic book is totalitarian (evil) so the fact that they killed him while having a Qu'ran is actually not a stab at muslim people. Also, don't generalize and lump together the word terrorism with Muslim. They are not one thing. Terrorism is a broad term that can envelope anything and anyone.

  • @Tekkenman101 I agree with Moore's description the film as "a thwarted and frustrated and largely impotent American liberal fantasy of someone with American liberal values standing up against a state run by neoconservatives — which is not what the comic V for Vendetta was about. It was about fascism, it was about anarchy, it was about England."

If the Wachowski's style is to turn Moore's written material into a liberal, populist political critique then they succed in leaps and bounds.

  • @SentinelConvergence He's butthurt about anything having to do with America. His criticism is not surprising. In the end, it's their interpretation. So yes, they did succeed. The book and movie aren't even that different, the only discrepancies are that in the movie they tone down the anarchist theme (it's always been about England he makes no sense). Don't forget this is Hollywood, they need to adhere to a larger audience. Lady Liberty scene was corny and doesn't translate into a movie well.

  • @Tekkenman101 Sides, Gordon himself said he wasn't Muslim, nor did he have to be to appreciate what was in the book.

  • he gave her freedom and serenity

  • Amazing quality!

(What language is the subtitles in BTW?)

  • I think this is the BEST scene out of the whole movie I absolutley LOVE IT!

  • also, 'try to feel now what you felt then'. wow. once u realize u cant, theres nothing left to do but let go

  • 'i cant feel anything anymore!' brings a tear to my eye everytime. true freedom

  • I wish V was an actual person. it makes me sad that he's not. :(

  • she looks so cute in that potato sack

  • i love the symbolism of V and Evey's ressurections. V was reborn in fire through hate and unlawful evil while Evey was reborn in rain through love and pure unlawful good. It's the chaotic symmetry of not just love, but the whole spectrum of human emotions that Alan Moore always explores in his novels that show through scenes like this. Alan Moore is amazing.

  • Evey just got punked!!!!

  • To be able to act without your face and with only your voice and the rest of your body... that's an admirable feat.

  • The Valerie scene + this one together is easily among my absolute favorites in any movie.

  • i just clicked on the link and i got goosebumps. this scene does something to me and i have seen it countless times.

  • If you've never failed you've never lived.

  • I would be thanking V if I were Evey. Yes, he tortured her, but that was only to rid her of her fear. Thanks to him, she had no more fear. I can't see any reason to hate him for that.

  • @orlandogirl213 because it was still torture that she had to suffer through. You don't come walking out of that all chipper. You think you will die and they just keep prolonging it and making you suffer more and more. it messes up your brain

  • @GCN1111usa

Yup, just like finding out that the dollar can collapse at any moment because it is printed by a private bank, not the government.

    Crazy uh? But it's true.

  • The Idea Was To Help Her Shead The Fear. An Individual Who Has No Fear Of Anything Is The Most Powerful Humanbeing On The Planet!

  • @philipstout93 they'd also be the craziest human being on the planet

  • As powerful as the scene is, and as good as V's motives were and the way it ended up, when Evey walks through that door I still think to myself--"V, YOU SUCK!" XD

  • I find this whole scene touching

  • I have a buzz but that is a little long than Natalie's was for this film.

  • If we all took a stand agaisnt the fear inflicted upon us by our government making us worry about Al-CIAda and other supposed terrorist, once we lose our fear they cant controll us anymore!

  • @bistaboy RESPECT !

  • veliki govor, Bog je na kiši ... jednostavno briljantan film

  • Very powerful scene and very good actors! I especially like the part in the rain ''God is in the rain''.

  • god is in the rain still gives me goosebumps

  • Zdi se mi dialog jasen ampak zakaj

    "Bog je v dežju" ?

Slišal sem že nekaj primerjav med hudičem in vodo ampak z bogom še ne...

  • wat happen to v? i dont get it

  • Non-violent drug offenders are afraid of their government every day. They get disappeared into federal and state prisons for the crime of what exactly? Potentially hurting their own bodies?

Half a million non-violent drug offenders are in prison right now. There is something very wrong with our country.

  • hellyeah!it's the drug lords who should be persecuted, not the junkies(they should be perceived as patients, not offenders/criminals)!but you see, drug money often support entire economies,armies/military,even governments/politicians and their electional campaigns...do you catch my drift?...be cool buddy!

  • Also think about what decriminalization of marijuana would do. Not legalization by any means, but have the government regulate it and tax the hell out of it. Do you have any idea how much profit they'd make off of selling weed?

We'd probably be out of our deficit within a few years.

  • This argument is based on the idea that potsmokers are such responsible people and that crackheads are not.

  • This attempt at disproving a logical resolution is based on the idea that marijuana is just as dangerous as crack (rock) cocaine, which is laughable at best.

  • Spock, you watch too much Star Trek. Answering a question in such a manner does not establish intelligence, no matter how much of wikipedia you read daily. A drug user is a drug user no matter if you grew up in the type of neighborhood where this kind of shit is common or growing up fetching points of view and prejudices from library books and books only, like you have. Marijuana and crack are two completely different drugs with different effects, still, drugs are drugs.

  • You cannot enforce the dumb idea that Marijuana users are way smarter than other drug users just because the drug is not as bad. This is what you and a bunch of other nut libretarians base your arguments on.

  • Yes, I agree with you, you can start by prosecuting psychiatrists and the shit they inject into little children, let alone adults. Then go after the cartels from other countries, do me a favor, once you are done with the psychiatrists in the world, please come after the cartels in Mexico.

  • L. Ron Hubbard was given Vistaril© by Dr. Gene Denk in his final days, by intramuscular injection in the right buttocks. Vistaril© is a psychiatric drug, used to calm frantic or overly anxious patients. He died on January 24th, 1986, eight days after the fatal stroke, and one day after signing his last will and testament. He died in a 1982 Blue Bird motor home

These are public documents, available from the San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Office. Coroner's file #8936.

  • @OpenComments he was a crook.....and a stupid man good for him

  • And for ya'll that think we should've "stood against or gov. blah blah blah"

Well for one, our gov isn't like this movie's so we're nt gonna go blow up shit. And two, call me whatever, but usually when your President says he knows what he's doing, USUALLY he does. This time, he didn't. How were we to know that he didn't know, what he said he knew???

  • For the last time people, this movie was not produced in order to mock the Bush administration. The Director himself said so. The movie- no, the story itself (which fyi was a comic book made like a decade ago)was just relaying the simple message that people shouldn't fear their government, the government should fear their people. We all dislike George Bush, but when the fuck have we been afraid of him???

  • True that!

  • Anarchism is so incredibly flawed

  • @rjm127 indeed anarchism is flawed, now please tell me what isn't. Is capitalism flawless to you?

  • One question: in the torture scene, what was coming up through those vents?

I think this is a clever way (though a bit harsh) to live without fear. She went through all that crap and came out fearless.

I loved how V said he didn't want to do it, but he had to for her sake.

  • This seen is riddled with irony. Through the methods of control used by the fascist system V strives to overthrow, he systematically indoctrinated and alienated Evey, in the hope that he may force her to be free. Even Rousseau would be bemused by V's actions

  • He was trying to put her in his shoes. He wanted her to see what it was like, for her to realize the importance of courage when the government becomes too powerful for if you are fearful they can just push you around.

  • Evey needed to let go of her fear as it was dominating her life, ruining it. He used the only tools he knew, to achieve his goals. If I had been in Eveys shoes, I would have thanked him - after I had felt the rain and truly knew what it meant to be free.

  • thank you we are all sheep and this movie showed what it means to be a sheep. thank u.

  • @bushidobadboy

Yeah. After you'd gotten over the physical and mental trauma of being tortured.

  • @bushidobadboy I don't understand, as she would still be living in a "1984" type world where everything is controlled. So how did torturing her benefit her? Unless she was to get get re-captured by the actual bad guys and tortured, but even then knowing what to expect doesn't free you from your situation.

  • @nuggets2go

you don't get it, this is about spiritual freedom

  • @bushidobadboy More along the lines of I would've thanked him...after kicking him in the balls for doing this to me in the first place.

  • So how would you have gone about it? :p

  • the whole prison bit in this film is one of my favorite parts of any film i've ever seen, simply amazing

  • this is my favorite scene of the whole movie !

  • I love this film!

  • What's the point of this film, I'd like an explanation?

  • Well the original comic book was about V as an Anarchist terrorist/freedom fighter who seeks both to destroy the Facist 'Norsefire' regime and to exact revenege against them for their actions. The film was more toned down and somewhat altered to have more relevence in a post 9/11 society.

  • The members of the UNITED FASCIST UNION, of which I am one, have taken the film to their hearts since our leader, Jackson Grimes, saw it in Canada this summer. We think it's telling the truth about the rotten Bush regime.

It seems to me these people, with their black tunics and red shirts have kind of an 0rwellian Commie-Nazi regime. Because they look like Garabaldi's Red shirts & Hitler's troops too.

They're doing the same thing Bush is doing, tormenting people. Mr. Grimes thinks he'll

  • *yawn*

  • I thought it was a boring movie too. Jack Grimes, saw the whole film in Canada and made it seem wonderful. guess it's a guy flick, I didn't like it much but, the message was important though.

  • I'm not suggesting it was boring. It is an action-packed movie, with some awesome stunts. I enjoyed the movie, but was just pointing out some ironies within the script.

  • I liked the old bailey explosion at the beginning and clock blowing up at the end.

  • @Jackalman99 Please stop that presumptious attitude of yours. I am a girl and this is one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. I utterly despise all those "romcoms" which are so shallow that they make me want to vomit.

  • he;ll blow up more shit to cancel the election next month.

  • Good. Use your aggressive feelings, boy. Let the hate flow through you.

  • a powerful and moving scene!

  • I love that music as well that scene.

  • does anyone know what the the name is of that final piece of music?

    Thanks

  • Yes, the song is called "Evey Reborn" by Dario Marianelli. It's on the movie's soundtrack.

  • love. oh so much love.
