  • I love the way you made it show one part at a time, this was really helpful!

  • Woah , this is pretty helpful. Thanks for this dude, I seriously appreciate it, and I love the fact that you make it bob , because it's sort of annoying when you see an animation and none of the body is moving, just the head and legs.

  • Could you do a walk?

  • @GrovyleFan1995

I am already working on a walk guide. =)

  • @DarkmaneTheWerewolf Awesome! I need a reference for a video intro I'm making. Thanks :D

  • Lol head not included, i dont know why but that made me laugh :P but thanks this helped me out alot! <3

  • Thank You but can you help me with my back legs their all jumpy....

  • This helped ALOT! Thank you!

But... um.... would you think about a back cycle?

    Like running away?

  • @Voidspirits

    @Voidspirits

Back run is the same as this but reverse the movement of the feet and apply it to the back legs first. Remember, the back legs will hit the ground first though, refer to the side run guide for more on how the front and back legs move in relation to each other.

  • This helps me a ton. o.o

I was trying to figure out how I could do this angle. lol

  • thank you soooooooooooooo much!!! this helped me a lot with the dragon animation i was working on

  • wow! this really helps me alot^^

    but if it is okey for me to ask..... could you make a vid of how you animate dragons? cuze dragons are really hard to animate^^;

  • @drajk23

I'm working on a fly cycle guide as we speak. As Dragons are fictional creatures, there is no definitive way they move. Look up the anatomy and behaviours of real creatures that closeley resemble how you want your dragon to move.

  • @DarkmaneTheWerewolf

    okey^^ thanks for the tip^^

  • Hey Dark, I'm wondering if I could trace a few of the frames in this, I'v been trying to figure out how to make a front animtion for awhile ^^ Thanks~ pokemonx55

  • @pokemonx55

No you may not trace! I teach you everything you need to know to do it yourself in this video and the side view so you dont have to trace! Best way to learn is to do it yourself anyway, so dont be so lazy eh?

  • oh geeze this is just amazing X33

    thanks for the help!

  • Can you do a wolf running cycle from the side PLEASEEEE

  • @ImAgEeK4EvEr Its pretty easy, Dark only shows you how to PLAN a Cycle. Just learn the wolves movments, Use what dark said, and hey presto!

  • @ImAgEeK4EvEr

Indeed, as CallOfTheWars said, the main aim of these is the principles and an idea of how to plan your own, i use a griffin character because their fictional anatomy can be changed around while still looking like a natural griffin's movement.

Refer to my previous 4 legged run cycle guide for a side view guide.

  • woah..Thank you for this this really will help my animations :D! great job!

  • Awesome :D

  • nice

  • Very nice, do you know how to change the opacity in flash?

  • @whitefang4000

No, sorry. I dont use flash because i feel it looks tacky and encourages bad habbits in animation.

  • @DarkmaneTheWerewolf um not to bother but what do you use then? Cus ive been trying to find a good animation program, i use the flash trial but im not really that into flash its a good program but eh.

  • @Frostedwing11

I use The GIMP to draw each frame onto, After Effects to edit and Premier to compile all the scenes. You can use simpler programs like MonkeyJam and Movie Maker, those and GIMP are all free to download and use. After Effects and Premier will cost you.

I hate flash, it just looks really tacky and horrid in my opinion.

  • @DarkmaneTheWerewolf ah gimp cool :D i used to use it, right now im using the flash trial and this lineart program called AzDrawing, it seems to me that i animate better on more basic programs, i have been animating better on Az lol, wel thanks for telling me! :D awesome tutorial

  • @DarkmaneTheWerewolf Alright, thank you anyways. This is still a great tutorial though. ^_^ Helps me out a lot, thank you.

  • wow your good :D this stuff is always confusing and hard to make look good :D you seem to do this with ease ;D

    Thumbs up :)

  • love it!!!!!!1another help!!!

  • awesommmeee X3 *thumbs up*

  • That was so cool!! awesome!! :D
