So From what i understood from the video, Bodybuilding does not effect your height. But is there a link or something that will predict your adult height and is it accurate ?
I'm 14 years old... I'm 5'10" tall. I weigh 160lbs. and I bench 160lbs with a spotter. I go up 2 the weight room whenever I can... everytime I'm up there my friends push me 2 go for a new max bench press. but I've gone from 135lbs when i was a 7th grader, 2 160lbs as an eighth grader, and my eighth grade year has just started, if I keep this up will I stunt my growth?
@Mrhamburgerable Yeah, I'm 5'9 and 14 and suppose to get 6'1 or 6'2 but my mom is 5'6 and my dad was 5'8. And i have friends that are suppose to get 6'4 and their parents are 5'9 and 5'4. they re both 14 and 5'10 now
@WTSMiniEvenniaLOL In my opinion the body gets used to it if you do one thing to long. No matter if it's going to failure, doing drop sets or pyramids. Mixing it up once in a while keeps things fresh and your body engaged.
@WTSMiniEvenniaLOL No, from what you say that is very unlikely. I just wouldn't go to failure all the time, because the body gets used to it and you may limit your gains.
wow, this really is a super video! I am 16 and 5 ft 7 and really want to grow a few more inches at least so wasn't sure whether to start going to the gym or not. I have watched many videos but this is by far the best, thanks!
Hello evil, thanks so much for this video. I hate the myth that bodybuilding stunts growth.
But what do you think of doing powerlifting, i.e. very heavy 3x3 routine, so 3 sets of 3 reps with good form?
Also i hate steroids but i got a question, the steroids you talk about release hormones in the body, and all these hormones are usually there telling your body "you are an adult now". But are the steroids not the same hormones as the ones released when you do a workout. Do you get where im coming
@pkhamidar2com If you keep really good form and have a qualified coach with you, then powerlifting per se in my opinion isn't bad. It is not stunted growth I worry about with powerlifting, but safety.
As for steroids: that is a really good question! Yep, you may release hormones during your workouts, but they are miniscule compared to what a dose of steroids would bring to your body.
basically weight training is benifical to teens when done correctly with propper form and nutrtion. it could potentailly be useful in sporting situations as when children start puberty growth can cause some slight clumsyness as the body is being changed in a way it is not used to. weight training also helps neurological development and propreoception. making them move more efficinatly.

Im 13, 5'9" and i just lift/curl 40 pounds each arm and sometimes i feel a numbness on my shoulders. Is it stunt my growth? Should i stop?
reido66 2 months ago
@reido66 As said in the video, it doesn't stunt your growth. If you feel your shoulders from doing biceps curls, you are using too much weight.
