  • 0:07 - 0:10 looks very suggestive....

  • I enjoyed this so much I could plotz.

Unless that's naughty. In which case I'm sorry.

  • My grandmother is German and I hear my employers speak Yiddish and understand a little of it.

  • LOLS XDDDD

  • Yup. That's my mom talking (especially the last one--the old lady on the phone)!

Basically, if one has a rudimentary knowledge of German and Hebrew, Yiddish will fall right into place. Some words come from Slavic languages but Yiddish is the kosher German language l.o.l.

There are courses in basic Yiddish even classes at universities and yeshivas. Shamefully, my Yiddish is not very fluent. I need a brush up.

  • This is one of the funniest thing I ever watched, and in Yiddish.

  • that's because yiddush is a meld of a bunch of european words... that's why it sounds similar

  • ...funny thing is, not to many people even know that.

    Shalom.

  • hey a lot of this is very similar to german ^^

"mensch" means in german just "man/human being"

and "gornischt" rather sounds saxonian, we say that but the correct german is "gar nichts" which means nothing. I really enjoyed this little clip and I am kinda in love with that language.
