The album version of this song is pants, but this one is awesome, im glad they included this version on the pictures 4 disk version... a few of the albums are rubbish, but back to back was a good album for the time, as quo where is pieces.... good song, good solo in middle, great words...
Rock Til You Drop was a good album, but they've had a few duff albums after In The Army Now - Ain't Complaining, Thirsty Work, Perfect Remedy being the worst offenders.
this is not status quo. according to alan or rick, this is francis rossi and bernie frost recording the song, and releasing it under the name of status quo. and i think they are right, it sounds very similar to 'i wonder why', another rossi/frost track. rick and alan mime 'going downtown tonight going downtown tonight...' but its francis voice too
Im not sure if this version is the Quo one or the one on the Album Back To Back is the Quo version. I herd one was done by the band and one by Rossi/Frost.
Yesss, I'm going down town tonight bec. Quo is in concert here in our city (Braunschweig/Germany), special guest Manfred Mann's Earth Band! November 7, 2008

that was the great status quo when the main quo line up was rossie rick lancaster the main man and peter he was a very good drummer when jc went the quo now one thing to say fucking shit with that wanker rinho in it hes not quo and never will be one and only lancaster and peter and jc
@willyboy84 Epic song, I know its a departure from the "heavy" song but this really is a song to listen to for me while flying down the motorway or skating, nice upbeat tune.
is this version of this song on any albums. ( with the little guitar ditty at 1:38) I've got this song on a few compilations but all of them miss this part out.
I think it's only on the studio album 'Back to Back'. All other versions (i.e. on compilations) would be the single version and probably have this edited out.
Anybody after this version as an MP3 send me a private message with your e-mail address and I can either send the song to you or send you a link so you can get it yourself.

Wasn't a fan of this song when I first heard it - thought it was a bit too lightweight for Quo when you compare it to 'Roll Over Lay Down' etc. - but it's grown on me to the extent I added it to my favourites.
wow, Status Quo have been in my life since i was about 4/5 yrs old when my uncle gave my brother a video full of their singles frm early 70's to mid 80's (this vid has been taken from that video and i love the end clip with the cards :P) and i'd hear the tunes being played by my brother on his TV and i got really REALLY addicted to it. im 20 yrs old now and still loving them, hopefully going to see them in Nov/Dec time :D :D :D :D!!!!!
there was a video to this song where a young guy was going `down town` on a train and was passing posters of the quo which came to life. Has it been posted, `cos I can`t find it!
I really like the status quo! Fantastic to play good music!

As a rabidly loyal Quo fan dating back to 1973 I have to say this really wasnt the
bands greatest hour. Back to Back was just ok. You could feel the tension musically
& personally between Rossi & Lancaster at the time. The album is still worth
a listen to though.
