so if i want a libary of my movies for my home theater i just get my movies and when there copyied where do they save too and how do i play it back on my tv or projector
Which connection do You use? I have the same projektor, and tried S-video input with computer and DVD-player as well, but it did not work. "No source available..." On TV works it just fine. Any idea? Thanx in advance.
Yes, I did. According to the installations manual S-video is 2.
Perhaps there is something wrong with the S-video input... I will try to connect a VHS through composite, just to see that the projektor still works...
man, when i first found out about home theaters i thought it was all about how good the projector was, but now no matter what sort of screening you have it doesn't matter becuz it depends on how good the surroundings and speakers are too
CRT has a steep learning curve. It can take many hours to set one up. You can get an entry level one for really cheap these days.
The advantage of CRT is deeper black levels and better color rendition, but the digital projectors are sharper and brighter. LCD is great for video games, but may look somewhat washed out for movies, depending on the projector.
I will eventually have my own home theatre. It appears you're very good with computers, and your organ project uses linux, have you seen MythTV which run on linux?
If you have the money, you could probably find a Steadicam JR(old) or Merlin(new) on ebay, but they're not going to be cheap.
For getting better sound in your videos, you could get a regular handheld mic. Fry's has a Shure for 30 bucks with a 1/8" plug for computers which could fit a cam, maybe with an adapter.
The MyMovies plug in real makes the media center. very nice. i use the same software to manage nearly 400 dvd's on our system. All are vob with origional dvd navigation and subs options. very proud of it. I have a single 9 bay tower with 3 tb of drives to deliver it. which brings me to this question. Why do you need a humongus, very expensive file server to deliver yours?
Seems to me that this dude should spend alittle less time working on the home theater and a little more time figuring out how to operate a video camera.
A 16 year old Barco Graphics 800, running at 720P resolution (1280x720x60Hz).
They can be bought for around $200-500 on ebay, if you know how to set them up. Though there are better ones for a bit more money. I'd like to upgrade eventually.
Amazing!

Did you select the S-video input using the remote? I think composite video is 1, and S-video is 2.

what s the name of that software that you use for the video Library
mackla88 2 years ago
It's called My Movies. It is still available, even for Windows 7. You can find it with Google.

Thnx!!!

Are you watching in full HD? Instead of watching DVD's you should upgrade to blu-ray

I plan to when I rebuild my HT. Right now it is not in use due to water damage.
My projector runs at 720P or 1080i, depending on what I'm watching. It was built in 1990, so too old for 1080P.

Oh ok. I hope everything goes well for your project

There are 3 servers and some other equipment in that rack. It is not all for the home theater.
There is a video of my file server on my page if you haven't seen it.

The cool thing is, these projectors only cost about $300 or so these days, and a basic PC to watch DVD's from can be built for about that as well.

You try holding the camera steady without a tripod, when you have Cerebral Palsey :-)
I was also in a hurry due to the 100MB file size limit, I didn't want to compress the video more than I had to.
