Let me explain then :)... These are HPDE events, not races. No passing is allowed without a point by. The only way you can pass legally, without getting black flagged is to get up on the car's tail and wait for the driver to concede you are faster and point you by.

Or maybe the 911 turbo doesn't want a mini cooper behind him.

I understand how it works- I wave people by me as soon as I see them- I dont know what kind of idiots are driving behind me.

Actually, quite the opposite; many 911 drivers come up to us all the time after the sessions and ask what we have done to our cars. They are really impressed with the handling of the MINI and admit that they just could not keep up through the road course portion of the track. Granted, there are some 911 drivers that really know how to wheel it and can smoke us (as they really should with all that extra hp).Just proves that because a car has a lot of hp,doesn't mean the driver knows how to use it
