  • slash was ok, Neil and whoever that other dude was were awful, and Brian is just too cool. he does the least out of all of them, but says the most - love it!

  • slash was good, rabin an schon too noisy, the best for the end, setzer was the king in this video

  • brian kicks asses!!!

  • As a blues guitarist I'd rather hear what Slash played than Schon, thats not blues, thats heavy metal crap...

  • Thanks for this video. What a great bunch of talented guys on this one stage. The greatest guitar player of all time time is the fantastic Trevor Rabin. What year was this filmed? Nice to see all of these guys perform.

  • Neal Schon is surely great as a guitarist, technically almost perfect, but to me there is no soul in his playing, he can't play the blues - I prefer Slash, maybe he's not Kossoff, but sometimes he seems to be close...

  • @IanusRav There isn't soul in the Schon's playin here, blues is not the speed :/

  • @Corocateur That's what I'm saying.

  • didnt theese guys play 2 songs...? they playde this one and then they also played crossroads.... does anyone know where to find it? it was on youtube but got deleted because of copyright crime.....

  • I agree with you guys,Paul should have had much better guitarists.

  • Paul should have had Alvin Lee playing with him for this.

  • I love each of these guitarists. BUT~yikes. This vid serves as a great example of how NOT to play blues. They're all too concerned with being "impressive" other than "expressive". Unfortunately none are impressive (nor expressive)

  • @loungefly1 Setzer did a good job IMHO.

  • Why are their so many wank guitarists in this video slash seems to be the only half decent one

they are ruining a great blues song

    Paul is doing it justice

  • you cant get it better than slash he is a god in what he does.

  • I've been listening to him since 1969 and still think he has the best voice ever! This is Paul at his best. I couldn't help thinking he was selling out, singing with Queen. Although I like Queen, Paul has something really special and his talent lies in soulful compositions and blues in particular!

  • Couldn't agree with you more..!

  • True! So hard to fathom Paul hooking up w/Queen. I love Queen.. but thats surely not a good fit IMO. Nothing in the world 'soulful' about Queen.

Paul is certainly one of the best and most talented vocalists to ever pick up a mic. He's in my top faves! He was great with Free, Bad Co. and the Firm.. and like a fine wine.. just get's better w/age. He's sexier now than ever before! ;-)

  • Slash has so not got the blues. This was embarrasing.

  • So true! Neal Schon isn't a "blues" guitarist either... but, he can play the blues and make it work. I think Neal is a far better guitarist across the board.. than Slash. But, Slash is great @ what he does.. when he's in his own element.

  • Yeah, a little over the top... for a blues song....why? why? why?

    Impressive shredding, but NO SOUL!!

    Thanks to Paul Rogers...wow!

  • Setzer did a great chet atkins thing there.

Every single dude on stage is badass.

  • can someone please acknowledge paul's effortless singing!!! whatta voice!!!!

  • all the way... Paul is perfection!!!

  • Yes.. even for a white-boy with a little bling in his grill.. haha!

  • prefer neal schon than Slash

  • shreddin sux big time

  • í looooove the purple shirt!!!!!

  • As far as blues feel and playing sensible licks go, Slash won this round.

  • agreed :)

  • im lovin the purple shirt

  • check out frank marinos version untouchable even with paul rodgers being the greatest rock vocalist off all time

  • Who cares who played the "best" solo? This is entertaining, the crowd loved it, the boys were having fun and sharing that with the audience. Thats all that really matters. Also it seems that Paul Rogers voice just keep gettin better, if thats possible.

  • this is just brilliant! as always from paul, real music, real talent, funny hair though, I prefer the style now even if it isnt his original hair!!!

  • Lads, I know who slash is, I was just being facetious, Cause I think Slash is a crap guitarist, Paul might have gotten some street cred by having the man in the top hat play on his album, you know and I know there a lot better choices for a guest guitarist. Ok you can have your say and try to convince me how great Slash is but your waisting your time, cause I've moved on and am watching a Les Paul video.

  • I actually got to meet Paul and Neal Schon outside of Harpos night club after this concert in detroit he was a great humble guy shook all our hands and bullshitted with us while the band was waiting for their limo .

    Great memorys fr sure!

  • who's the freak in the top hat?

  • That would be Slash from guns and roses wwho plays a song on this cd.

  • WHAT A MORON!! xD. cant bealive u dont who slash is. Lets Just say he is one of the FEW. keeping Real ROCK N ROLL ROLL ALIVE in a world full of POSERS.

  • Am I wrong or the dude on bass is Todd Jensen? :)

  • Brian's solo was the only one actually played with soul. He didn't overspeeded it, like the rest of guitarists did, he played good, trying to keep the melody, not the speed of solo.

  • True to an extent. Nothing wrong with Slash's, it was just a tad out of place. He played with a million times more taste than Schon and Rabin, and Setzer with about 100 times more taste than Slash 8)

  • @SDMF21 I agree, Setzer was very good here and a much needed contrast to the noise Schon and Rabin were making.

  • ...and setzer came in second...

but setzers tone was way too thin...

    he needed a marshall...

  • slash tore all those guys a new one :D

  • frank marinos rock me baby blows everyones version away dont believe check it out

  • Gotta agree- Setzer had the feeling going on. Neil is still one of my favorite players, but this was too much shred and not enough flow.

  • the best the best ROCK ME BABY in the world

    thanks PAUL by chiosco5vie

  • of course slash is one of the best players in the world. it doesnt matter if someone plays fast or slow... but he must find the feeling for the song and on this bluestrack slash got best bluesfeeling... he got enough solos on his own songs with gnr, snakepit or velvet who are as fast as johns guitarplaying and miles better

  • Setzer gets it right on this one. The other guys have to remember not to get greedy when you play. Tribute to blues, with a little of your own lics in there, but not lightning un-emotional leads? There are guys in Chicago right now who can draw you into that song and yo will get lost in their dynamics and coolness. That was white boy 'lurchy' blues. Setzer nice job though.

  • Well put, but Slash did a good job too. I love his playing, this wasn't the BEST, but it was decent. Rabin and Schon sucked. I've seen Journey and Schon plays much better than that, he just wanked off. Setzer trumps 'em all

  • I expected much better. The only one who played with any real degree of feeling was Setzer, this sounded what soulless white guys playing the blues should sound like. And I think Johnny Winter is a god. They need to tone it down and turn down the amps.Loud does not equal jamming, got that rockheads?? And Slash is just ok,and to be honest ,that 8 year old Quinn Sullivan blows all of these, save Setzer, away.

  • That was awesome, major ass being kicked!

  • Hey mantaslash ,keep cool , there are 25000 guitar player like slash and another 50000 that are better, but he knows how to wright some good songs, that 's what makes the difference.

  • i copped my load watching this

  • the chemistry between slash and paul is quite good slash has something very kossoffy inside him then you can critisize as much as you like

  • You guys who says Slash is bad.. You don`t have a clue on what ya talking about..

Slash is one out of the best guitar players in the world.. No one plays with so much feeling as Slash.. He`s the man!

GeorgAlberto1985: Grow up, if you know so much about guitar playing you should know better than trash talking Slash.. But cause your just a KID I`ll forgive you..

  • um i do

  • slash is good, but paul rodgers is the man, he make sthe whole band, hes the king!

  • Slash??? please.... He a stupid idiot guitar player..

Practice more or be a saxaphonis!!! he..he..

  • slash is best....

  • Slash, in my humble opinion is indeed all about a look and lifestyle. His guitar playing is mediocre. Robin Trowers version of this song is without a doubt the very best.

  • let me tell you something slash is good but not as good as neal schon, slash need to practice more because he's falling down as a guitarist.

  • i think he is good in this video but in general you are right. have a good life

  • guys slash doesn't now how to play amazing solos i think he was the worst of all. and then we have neal schon, this is the man he nows how to play guitar he's great.

  • what about the november rain or sweet child o mine?

  • @tanselturna dude...listen to sweet child o mine....its just a super simple repetitive chord progression. Neal schon and brian may are a couple of the best out there in my oppinion.

  • @tanselturna Axl wrote November Rain and Sweet Child started off as a joke.

  • @camarorider67 you are wright but axl just wrote the songs not the solos and riffs..

  • @tanselturna True, but I guess my point is people give Slash too much credit.

  • @camarorider67 i agree with you but slash is still making music and he gains lots of respect.. axl is still using drugs and now, he sings like shit :) my all credits going to slash ;)

  • @tanselturna True, Slash still has my respect, unlike a certain singer who now looks like a 40 year old housewife on botox.

  • Brian Setzer stuck to the blues scales and riffs as well. The others stepped outside but all rock is blues based. Slash does not stand out as a memorable guitarist. His is more of a look and lifestyle fame. Of the bunch Trevor Rabin gets a major penalty using too many effect gadgets to enhance his sound.

  • slash is the only one that played actual blues
