these people were given the win after Dawson failed to repeat question #3 because 51 out of 100 people don't look in a dictionary for answers...that would be an encyclopedia.

I would have thought encyclopedia too would be #1, but......I doubt they'd try to fudge numbers. In the event that......they had lost I'd think or least I'd hope they'd be given the $5,000 anyway since Dawson had not allowed her a chance on the 3rd answer.
@teddygrammm Richard was unfair to Mary, AGAIN! It's bad enough that he said "Run off there please!" to her in part 4 on this upload. Now he tells her she got five when she only answered 4 of them on her go! As in the AVGN's Metal Gear NES review: "That is some mixed up buffalo bullshit there!"
@teddygrammm During the early years, contestants who passed on a Fast Money question were not asked the same question again afterwards. That rule was taken effect in 1979.
