It's moments like 2:00 - 3:30 that represent black metal's extreme capabilities as both a devastating and sadly beautiful genre. That riff can make you want to cry, kill someone, and just completely give up on life, all at the same time. Not to mention the drum progression and excellent vocals. I don't think we should fight amongst ourselves about who the best bmetal/dmetal musicians are. I say we appreciate them all, we are very lucky to have them in the same world.

Metal as a whole is a brotherhood, if anyone wants proof of that they could obviously see how many musicians play and record with other bands, Frost is an excellent example of that since he played with 1349, Gorgoroth and a few others. By "black death" I meant the plague. It spread over Europe in the late 1340s killing almost a third of the total population. In other words, it was an extremely brutal event. Hence why a metal band would pick up that specific year. And yes, 1349 is a black metal band. One of the best in recent years.
