Butane before and after combustion are as different as paper before and after combustion.

I see why you would assume that you may be inhaling lighter ‘fluid’ while heating the device up to operating temperature, a very popular misconception. When the gas butane is ignited it stops being butane and becomes carbon dioxide and water vapour, the heat and flame is evidence of this chemical reaction from one state to the other.

@Vaporstar1 but only if that reaction occurred in a perfect environment which it does not. because of this it also creates a small amount of other molecules like carbon monoxide and hydrogen peroxide. co2 and water are just the products that have the highest probability to form.

1.The pipe won't reach the water, but if you use something to extend the wood bowl downpipe such as a straw then you can use it with water.

2. Any vapour released into the air dissapates real quick, a quick squirt of air freshener and nobody would know you've had a bowl.

You can work with the leftovers from other vaporizers for sure, absolutely correct, no doubt about that....however this is a Vaporstar and it doesn't leave enough behind to make it worth the effort of rolling a cone..can you tell me why you'd buy a vaporizer if you're gonna roll a cone anyway?

@blazedballa420 Actually no...when smoking a plant that hasn't had chemicals added to help it stay alight I find I am relighting a rollup a lot more than using the vaporstar.

As for beeline, where do you think that wax goes when the wick is lit? I'd rather light mine with a gas fire, not with a candle.

Actually no it isn't. The reason our bowl is made from american black walnut is so you don't burn yourself after heating the cap. The bowl needs to be turned to achieve even vaporisation, you can't do this with a glass or metal bowl. This is why the original design is always better than a copied design because you have to understand and overcome problems such as burnt fingers etc. If you don't design it you'll never understand the problems you'd need to overcome to produce a safe product.

The butane has changed into heat, the flame is evidence of this. Have you heard of honeycomb hash? Butane is used to release the resin from the medicinal plant, then left for the butane to evaporate off leaving behind just the resin...The med co-ops are fine with this process even though in theory some residue must be left behind, much more than if the butane had been ignited. I have been using a Vaporstar for over 8 years and my lungs are healthier now more than ever.

If you tip the water out, yes. The wood bowl wouldn't reach the water but if it did it would make a stuttering noise instead of a whistle. You could try crushed ice in the pipe as a cool filter but that would condense some of the vapour as it passes through. I find warming the glass with hot water stops any vapour condensing on the inside of the pipe while it stays warm. Add what you like, a shot of whisky or absinthe in the pipe for that extra twist. Lemon, mint, vaporizer cocktail anyone?

You are using the HEAT of the lighter diffused by the star (inside) to heat the AIR that is passing over your herbs. (Vaping in a nutshell) Your grind is important, as you are trying to get as much surface area of your bud available for air to pass/heat it to release the actives. REcrushing your 'spent' bowl also gives you a few more his after as well :)

@Joemama057 You can grind it first but there is no need to grind with vaporstar. The herb dries and breaks down easily in the bowl as you stir it. A grinder will remove some of the resin you crave as you break the herb into smaller bits.

how is that a vaporizer if your still lighting it with a bic flame which hits 1200+ degrees F? Vaps are suppose to bring the bud up to around 300 degrees F without a flame so that THC is (supposedly) the only thing that comes off the herb and goes in your lungs.

@jesseleeds09 You're not being an ass for asking a question, I welcome it. When the Vaporstar is used, you can see when you hit the correct temperature for whatever you put in it when you see vapour.

Soon as you see vapour you've hit the right heat so it's time remove the flame and use the heat stored in the metal. Or you can heat the Vaporstar and when you see vapour the airflow can be increased to keep the vaporstar at a steady temperature to release a bigger hit of vapour.
