The hit should have been an interference penalty. The head wasn't down. I don't know what video you are watching, but it certainly isn't this one. Not only did Drury not have the puck, but it came from behind as well. The shoulder leaned into the head during a moment another player is at a defenseless position without the puck. Glencross isn't known for that type of hockey, but it's definitely a fair gesture for 3 games.

I'm not a Rangers fan, in fact, I hate the Rangers... but Glencross went for a headshot on a player who didn't even have the puck and had his back turner. Glencross needs to have more respect than that and deserved his suspension.

The pass looked like it was going to Drury and Glencross picked it off. It would have been a brilliant play. Close enough to give Glencross the benefit of doubt and I commend ref for not giving penalty. At first I thought Drury owed an apology for embelishing but he was clearly hit. Now I hear about a suspension??? The nhl just cant get it right can they.

after all the fuss i heard about this hit and finally seeing it, i've come to the conclusion that setting precedent is fucking bullshit. i know the league wants to crack down on headshots, but this is just sad. lamest hit ever. how about we compare this to almost every hit jordin tootoo has layed out on an unsuspecting victim as has gone unpunished. seriously, this suspension is garbage, all you bleeding hearts out there are just as much pussies as chris drury.

How about the fact he didn't have the puck? The puck wasn't even being passed to him. I can tell by your previous comment you're barely literate so I'll simplify it for you. You have Glencross' momentum plus Drury's momentum and they are both around 190 pounds (just a guess). Plus if you played hockey you would know how hard those shoulder pads are (ask someone that does). At 0:39 you see his head twist around; add these together and it could give anyone a minor concussion. Even you, tough guy.

Just because Calgary plays rough doesn't mean they are cheap. And btw, it was a clean hit. No elbow, Glencross never left the ice. It was just a blindside hit and Drury got caught with his head down. Theres no way Glencross should have been suspended for three games. The hit wasn't even a penalty.

The hit should have been an interference penalty. The head wasn't down. I don't know what video you are watching, but it certainly isn't this one. Not only did Drury not have the puck, but it came from behind as well. The shoulder leaned into the head during a moment another player is at a defenseless position without the puck. Glencross isn't known for that type of hockey, but it's definitely a fair gesture for 3 games.

Smarten up buddy, the 'hit' was more of an accidental collision. The refs didn't even call a penalty. Furthermore, there are no coaches in the league that will teach their players to run stars. Just because the Flames play a bump and grind game doesn't mean it's dirty. Too bad Drury was hurt by the hit, but guys gotta skate with their heads up. You can't just drift along watching the puck or you're bound to get in the way of someone who's looking to get in the play.

I can't agree... Glencross must have seen Drury before the hit. I'm not saying it's a dirty hit, but Glencross hit Drury for the sake of hitting him, and that's kind of lame. He's not even playing the puck.

he lowered his shoulder. i can agree with you that Drury should have had his head up, but when some player drops his shoulder and hits a guy who doesnt have the puck, its not legit. Yeah the refs didnt call anything on it because they saw him run into him, no big deal, but in the instant replay, HE DROPS HIS SHOULDER TO HIT HIM.
