@XxChrisxXBedofRazors I don't know the numbers (I am sure the specs are available at Roland's website). But there are lots of reverbs, choruses, delays, phasers, etc... just about anything you could want.
I find it astonishing that you always come up with a melody that perfectly fits the voice you are demonstrating. Do you learn and choose each of this music snippets prior to your recording or do you just make that all up improvising while you are at it?
I am not sure I ever "learned." I have been playing the piano since 1963 and synthesizers since 1973. I just jammed out on my own, jammed with friends, played in bands... always kept playing in some fashion, and different kinds of music. I also listen to lots of diverse stuff - my iPod has just about every musical style on it except I am not too fond of hip hop or opera.
This is besides the video.....I just bought a new Mac...Will all of my old programs (protools,Absynth,Atmosphere, etc.) be able to install on the new version of Mac OS X??????
What is your favorite controller keyboard ? I have an axiom 61 ... and it feels good compared to most ( for my taste ) but I'm always looking for something better.
Generally I think they're all quite miserable. I played an Edirol 61-key controller in a store some weeks back, and have been thinking I should get one of those. It had a really lightweight, fast action that seemed to suit me.
For me, mostly I can't get past the sound that the keyboards make ... they all sound so very cheap. I have a hard time when I'm practicing @ home and all i hear is cheap springs and bouncing plastic and clicks... *sigh*
I hear the RemoteSL 61 is pretty nice ... I've played with the 25 and it was kinda cool.
I use a Remote 37SL, and I kinda like the feel. Nothing like a real piano, but better than the really cheap light feeling synth actions on some keys. They refer to it as semi-weighted, but it really doesn't feel weighted, just a nice synth action.
I have a Fantom XR and a Motif ES, comment (ES = XS in sound, but XS has more ROM and lacks the PLG ability).
The Fantom is warmer, and to my ears the filters are slightly less digital. The Yamaha is sharper, a bit more clinical. There is a definite family sound to both that goes back decades. The Motif effects are a bit more flexible, but I don't care too much since I don't use them in combi mode. The COSM effects on the Fantom are much better than the distortion effects on the Yamaha.
which has better organs, pianos, EPs, and Pink-Floyd type warm analog pad synths? I play keys for a band and we DESPERATELY need to buy a decent sound module.
The problem with Infinite Phsr (if it can be called a problem) is that it fills the entire sonic space - its nice, but you can't do much more or things get quite thick.
some of the songs sound like games

I just make these things up on the spot. Find a sound and play something with it. I spend about 15 minutes tops making each one of these videos. :)
keybdwizrd 2 years ago
Wow, I wish I could do that. How did you learn to improvise like that?

Actually, I don't know. Sorry!

do you think the old JV1080 with a few SRX installed would be better than this?
mysticradio 2 years ago
The JV1080 doesn't take SRX cards - I think you have to get up to the 3080, 5080, 5050, etc.

You will need to check the website for each piece of software to see if they have updates you can download.

I'm partial to the Roland sound, but you could get good sounds from the Motif too - find a good deal on either and go for it.
