I have to admit that I was initiated into a UK GD temple and it was a huge disappointment. My 'initiation' consisted of people reading, haltingly, from scripts and generally stumbling through the rite.

I found them to be amateurish and a terrible let-down. There was no attempt at establishing any psychodrama, no attempt at even dimming the lights.

I can only hope that your temple is a little more accomplished and a bit more professional.

nice intro but I think how the golden dawn atributes the major arcana is flawed.there are 3 mother letters,7 double letters,and 12 simple letters.These clearly corrispond to the 3 horizontal,7 vertical,and 12 diagonal lines on the tree of life.great intro though.

What you say was originally applied to the Tree as modelled by Luria.  The attributions of the Major Arcana recommended by Westcott also differ quite radically from those worked by the continental school (See Knut Stenring's Sepher Yetzirah). Thanks for you comment. --Steven

Interesting, I've never heard of crossing the ShemHamporasch and the hexagram rituals - but it makes sense... another tidbit would be 108 x 2 = 216 (72 x 3), which is interesting as 108 is the same as IAO (1=creator(I), 0=destroyer(A), 8=sustainer(O)).
