Doesa anyone why in the heck Game Show Network is only airing the same episodes of Match Game 74 & '75 all over again, instead of moving forward with the episodes???
That "shucking oysters" answer made me lose it !!!! Don't recall too many instances of Polly Holliday out of her "Flo/Kiss My Grits" persona/costume - she was sneakily hot !!
@NilsMcCloud This was the syndicated version that aired right before prime time, in the "PM" in most cities, it was same concept as the daytime version which had the last two digits of the year, like "Match Game 76" and so on. In my hometown market of the Bay Area the daytime version was on CBS and the PM was on the ABC station.
I always loved how Gene would recite the rules. "Each of you will have three opportunities to match as many of our celebrities; the dingalings; the dingbats; the creatures from the dark lagoon; 'them'; as you possibly can."
I love the PM episodes. They were always the last ones taped of a particular session, and were always the wildest! Also, the extra head-to-head match was perfect - much better than the star wheel that came later, IMHO.
Ahhh, my beloved match game. Thanks for putting this up. It really takes me back. Lots of good memories around this time. I always love the match game for giving me a vibe up, it's so funny.

Unfortunately, Brian Billick faced many "zip-to-zip" situations with the Ravens.

@dagdogg Wikipedia says this was 1977.

Polly Holliday (Flo) should have said, "Why did you have to make him look like Mel?" Of course, Mel (Vic Tayback) from Alice.

I would've answered "sleeping" on the first question! I would've matched three of them, then it would be 3-0! :)

Who would've thought that Billick was going to be a Super Bowl winning coach? He looks way too young :)

I've never told anyone this, because I was baby when this show was at its prime, but "Match Game" was the shite.

Billick now works as an NFL on FOX analyst.

too bad Brian Billick could not find a perfect match when it comes to QB's. Boller,Grbac,Dilfer,Banks,Smith,Mitchell,Redman, and Case.
rays130226 3 years ago
He found it in Dilfer but let it go for the more flashy but soft and stupid Grbac.

The sped up era of Match Game PM from 2003-2004. I hated this when GSN did this.
fwbh 4 years ago
They still ARE - it bugs the hell out of me!
DENo1MatchGameFan 3 years ago
They still do? I never noticed. Except for the Dawson Family Feud opening.
Must've slowed the speed a bit since 2004, becuse here, it's pretty noticeable.
Hondo20132 3 years ago
Watch "MG '76" during the daytime - it is especially noticeable during the 'think musics!'
DENo1MatchGameFan 3 years ago
GSN went back to 1974.
Hondo20132 3 years ago
Also, it makes you wonder if their tapes are in PAL format.
Hondo20132 3 years ago
That's because Jimmie Walker was a guest on "GSN Live" this week - it should go back to "MG '76" after that.

Who really knew that former Baltimore Ravens coach Brian Billick was on Match game? Amazing!!!
